I stayed on Trollstigen on summer 2015, I never forget the amazing views of this place, driving with waterfalls on the side...Thanks Mike for this videos, I feel very very good and happy when you publish it.
The images, the music, the comments; everything had me glued to the screen. Colossal & brilliant work. Once again Col Collective made my bucket list a tad longer. Bravo !
I rode this yesterday based on this video of yours! Thank you and your team for putting it together! There was a bit less snow, and the amount of tourist traffic was fairly heavy, but that didn't detract from the spectacular beauty one single bit. Next time, I'll start at the bottom and ride up, instead of descending first, then turning around and heading back up. Again, thanks for this inspirational ride!
Nathan Muller, that's one of the differences between Norwegian climbs and other climbs. Most of our longest and "tallest" climbs starts at sea level, most likely near a fjord 😊
In the Alps you have trees and forest up to 2000 m or more. In Scandinavia you only have trees up to 1000 m - in some parts even less - I guess in this part of Norway the limit is around 700 m. Also the limits for real alpine terrain with glaciers etc. is much lower than in the Alps, so in that sense it feels much higher.
You could not have hit the Stigfoss at a better moment! Beautiful work, beautiful ride. Add yet another Col to my to-do list! Thanks again Mike and team!
Hey Mike...great stuff from you and the crew...very inspiring...on a bit of a journey myself...December 2015 I weighed 285lbs...now at 220lbs with final target at 180lbs...avg about 150 miles a week over past year and ramping up to 250 this summer with target to start racing at age 50 next spring once I have hit my target weight...gotta come to California and do some epic climbs like onion valley
So very glad you did this climb Mike, been one i've wanted to see more of for so long now especially past the viewing point, and can't see getting to Norway in the near future. Beautifully shot, absolutely gorgeous, many thanks again.
Brilliant new video, in a bit different style than before, like it! Did the Trollstigen as a video / simulation on the smart trainer, quite impressive even on video.
Buenos días. Mil gracias el paisaje es mucho muy hermoso. Me gustaría ascender a esté bello paraíso. Impresionante la caída del agua. Se podrá beber?Gracias.
Lovely video! I live in Norway and Trollstigen is still on my "to ride bucket list." Hence I wanted to know which time of the year and time of the day you took it on? Cause I saw surprisingly little cars/motorbikes/camper vans blocking the street when you where cycling up there and I know that can be a challenge in summer. would you mind shading some light on that? Thanks and keep up the fantastic videos!
Olaf Kon we filmed this at the start of June. I'd recommend early or late in the season, avoid the height of summer if you can. You're lucky living in such a beautiful country. Enjoy!!
@ 5:18 it is mentioned, that you see the Troll Wall up to the left. This is not correct. You can't see the Troll Wall from the Trollstigen road. The Troll Wall faces east towards the next valley Romsdalen. What you see up to the left @ 5:18 is the western side of the ridge, where the Troll Wall is on the other side. Apart from that a beautiful video as always.
Can somebody tell me the name of the song right at the start (also featured in the video: Ride, Relax & Explore with The Col Collective - Cycling Tours!)? That would be awesome!
Hi mike, do you feel the difference in using the semicompact (36) rather than the 34 at the front? In many videos you used the second one to climb easilly, as you say! :)
roberto paludi Hi Roberto. I use the 34 more than the 36 as I'm never 100% sure where I'll be riding next so always like the extra gear. On a climb like Trollstigen (which isn't super long or steep) for me the 36 was great. If I'm doing a big week in the high mountains I prefer the 34. Ride safe!
I immediatly thought about your video seeing this one: ruclips.net/video/-ofGq4usOtY/видео.html . I discovered your channel recently and absolutely love it (and so does my wife who isn't even a cyclist), I just booked a summer holidays in Briancon to ride Agnel, Izoard and Bonette, all thanks to the inpiration of your channel (well, I already was planning to go there, but after seeing your vids a couple of years earlier). Thanks for all the great work!
AMAZING! So great to hear Menno!! If you ever fancy exploring the French Pyrenees one year then do get in touch, we'd love to ride and show you around on one of our cycling tours. Thanks for your support and stay tuned for more videos :-)
Panos Tziotakis it started off chilly (around 8 degrees) but as soon as the cloud burnt off it was actually pretty warm. It's only 852m high. Keep an eye on the weather and you'll have a stunning day!

Fantastic to hear Pascal! This makes us very happy!
One of the top five col collective`s videos!!!!!!!!Simply awesome landscape and description!!!!!
Superb. Makes an old man feel almost young again. No tarmack and practically no traffic in August 1965!

That shot of Mike going through the water vapour is truly amazing.....another one for the bucket list!
I think one of the all time greatest moment we've been lucky enough to experience. Simply out of this world!
I´m in love with these landscapes!!
absolutely stunning! it's hard to imagine that the top of the climb is not even at 1000m high: it feels like you are riding at more than 2000m!
Nathan Muller for sure, feels a lot higher than you think. The scenery is just out of this world!

Seems higher than it really is? I guess the mountain really... Trolled you! Hehehehe.
You could not have hit the Stigfoss at a better moment! Beautiful work, beautiful ride. Add yet another Col to my to-do list! Thanks again Mike and team!

And Norway just won all those medals at the 2018 winter olympics in PyeongChang.
Hey Mike. Could you please let me know how you travelled to Trollstigen, and where you stayed? Cheers :)

Norway is wonderful for cycling. Just bring clothes for 4 seasons because you never know what weather you may end up in.
Totally agree!
What is the music ?
need to know this too! Great track.
Mountain Coffee Great work but I can't seem to find the track playing between 4:15 and 6:15. Did you find the name of the track?
Can somebody tell me the name of the song right at the start (also featured in the video: Ride, Relax & Explore with The Col Collective - Cycling Tours!)? That would be awesome!

I bet it took 3 months to film it. 1 day shooting and 89 days waiting for the sun shine XD
....I guess we had some Col Collective mountain luck on our side! :-)
temperature?it must have been cold!!!
Panos Tziotakis it started off chilly (around 8 degrees) but as soon as the cloud burnt off it was actually pretty warm. It's only 852m high. Keep an eye on the weather and you'll have a stunning day!
