In the late 80s i was lucky to have hollydays at the Keys. At one I meet a nice couple which had a small boat. They invited me to have a nice day on the boat for swim and snorkel. We were also on a sandbar with lots of other Boats. This was one of my best Days ever. I wish I could visit FL with my family. Thx for this amazing video. ❤
I wish I had another life to live over. I would live in Florida and enjoy all the great boating places that are there.... In the mean time, I'll enjoy what I have... #Sandbar
What the local's call Sand Island which is the West side of the mouth of Pensacola Bay, FL. What's really Great is going there majority of every Tuesday and Wednesday and watching the roughly 45 minute long Blue Angels practice sessions! #sandbar
I've been to all of them. I have a Wave Runner and live in south Florida. Islamorada is sooo fun, especially on the Holidays. 7 mile, and Big Pine are less crazy. But the Key West one off Stock island I like the best because the women go topless and walk around. Soo that's my favorite.
Well I hope you get the chance to enjoy the area between all the work. Keep up the good work... Looking forward to future videos on your project boat. Stay safe
I have Peanut Island and the Tequesta sandbar where I live. it's always crowded at peanut island, especially this past weekend with a couple hundred boats for the trump parade. #Sandbar
Back in the 70s when I was still in the Navy we used to help the coasties at Peanut Island maintain their station and their boats. I heard that it's no longer a Coast Guard station nowadays.
I go to all of these as well as up in key largo by the reefs at low tide it’s only 10’ and near the reef only 5’ so it’s a great snorkel spot. Also haulover and key biscayne sandbars. Before Corona of course. Now in Miami even the sandbars are being social distanced lol #sandbar
Translation: The local people don't want you there - unless you pay someone for a boat excursion. The pirates are alive and well in the area, they just operate a bit differently than they did in the 1800's.
Hey, sorry have only been to Florida once and it's quite different from where I'm from, so I have a question. The sandbars look cool and all, but besides looking cool, what's the point of going to the sandbars? Do people do anything specific at the sandbars besides just anchor the boat hang out? I guess I'm saying what's the big appeal?
You fish first, then after to relax go to a sandbar, cook/bbq the fish or other food, eat, nap, drink, cool off, chat with others, snorkel, then head back and fish along the way or stay the night and sleep aboard. Each time a different ocean view so think of it as a floating cottage of sorts. Priceless really.
You enjoy pure nature in fairly remote places (where the northern Caribbean sea touches the gulf on one side and the Atlantic ocean on the other in this case), see beautiful animals, swim in crystal clear warm waters with stumming views sourrounded by mostly wild islands and some natural preserve park, experience the tast of adventure while boating from one to another as opposed to drive around under the sun to find a spot for your car just to go where everyone else goes, see how the tide shifts small islands and keys around from time to time, combine fishing with diving, swimming and snorkeling...stay overnight and explore more places, just a few that came to my mind...it's not about being exclusive and vip to those who do it as a passion, but then yes you have the occasional rentals with parties and less interesting folks hanging around with loud music an drinks if you go to those in crowded places near big cities. If all this does not come to your mind automatically I guess there's no way for others to explain though!
Sorry for my ignorance (I’m from San Francisco where the water is cold and deep) but what’s the significance of hanging out at a sandbar? Just a shallow spot to swim and relax? The water looks super warm.. you guys out that way are lucky 😭
Well, first you fish and after a couple of hours go to a sandbar for lunch to bbq the fish, eat, drink, nap, snorkel, and fish back on the way home. And the best part is each time you can have a different ocean view.
It’s a place to chill, people watch, wade in the warm ankle to knee deep water and sand with a drink in your hand while the ocean or Gulf of Mexico is all around you and the sun is warming every muscle. You can usually find starfish and other marine life which the kids will enjoy. There will be different music playing on all the different boats. The Vibe is very chill. Be well.
In 1878, my Grt grandparents built a pineapple and citrus farm on the Elliott’s Key side of Sands Cut. They lived their for 18 years and then moved to Lemon City (North Miami), built a hardware store called Filer Hardware and general store and had five kids. I guess beach combing was their way to pass time. Ned and Charlotte Niedhawk rented the property and lived through the 1926 hurricane in the house. No advance notice of the storm and her husband was in Ft Lauderdale. Back then, Elliotts Key was a really long trip from Miami, 14 miles. Charlotte wrote a book about it called “Charlotte’s Story”.
They offer better ride quality and hull forms, less risk of galvanic corrosion. Biggest downside is that they're heavy and large, I think the rest of the world has smaller roads and smaller boats than the US.
hi' guys i have a problem with my trailer jack the top gear on the jack brook and i need to replace it but its welded to trailer can it be fixed or I have to replace the jack? My trailer is trail rite brand and its a 1983 model !!
Not really a secret. Everyone with a boat or jetski in Florida know exactly where these sandbars are. Just the Born Again dude will be hung off a davitt if he reveals them, by all the conch's that live there. Big thing, people who live in the Keys think the Keys are just for them and hate anybody that comes there to have fun. They want the tourist dollars, but not the tourists. They especially hate people from Miami. Most of the people in the Keys aren't even from Florida, they're carpet baggers from somewhere else who move to the Keys then start complaining about everybody else. True stuff, I'm not lying.
Hey Mat, good to see Gloucester being mentioned in the comment section. Been going to winger and cranes for over twenty. Can’t wait for this season to get underway. Until then we can lust after Florida footage
Where I live north of Boston we don’t have the same color water. Our tide swing is much larger and our season much smaller. The link is a video of my harbor/beach. At low tide there is a big bar that appears where boaters go (to the right of the boat about the 1:50 mark). Maybe some day I’ll make the blue’er water of FLA home. ruclips.net/video/rgz4j3aEk64/видео.html #sandbar
#sandbar - Very beautiful video and was happy to watch, even if you didn't even fix a boat. We appreciate Tuesdays a lot more after subscribing to Born Again Boating!
We got a couple of nice sandy beaches around the islands. Best one is located on Comino a tiny island 5 mins away from the main Island. In Summer it's normally PACKED haha. #Sandbar
I still prefer Hallandale Beach Florida and Hollywood beach Florida Boardwalk, Fort Lauderdale Florida Beach and Miami Beach, is way more beautiful and better.❤☀️
Well I can't tell you where my 3 favorite secret sandbars are at in the Big Pine Key area either since you would not divulge the location of these (TEASE!!!) (although I can guess at least 4 of them) #Sandbar
@Jody & Jess - Livin' the Keys Life I just checked out your channel. Very nice and we have the same boats (2020 WorldCat 230DC that lives on a trailer but my favorite ramp at Bahia Honda Park is closed)
What is the county tourist trespass law ? Sounds weird. #sandbar . Also I would go crazy sitting on a sandbar in such nice weather. There's fishing and spearing to be done !
Off all the boats anchored at each of these sandbars, I hope no one ever publishes their GPS coordinates on the Internet ... also don't everyone go rushing to Google maps satellite view.

Please can somebody By the end of the video at 4:08 minutes Can somebody tell me where is that spot please
Thanks, I love the "we teach you to maintain" idea. Outboards you'd recommend? Looking at Suzuki 350?
What about Bahia Honda sand bars ! Those are beautiful as well!
Another one we go is in Molasses keys across 7 mile bridge that are beautiful as well.
We have seen many videos on Haulover Inlet here on west coast of Canada. Beat the virus!!! CHEERS
Silly question…but how do you secure your kayak, if you want to swim? Do you ask someone if you can hitch up to their boat?
Love your videos, Here in Southwest Florida we go to Captiva, Boca Grande, Cayo Costa and Key Waden and anywhere in between #sandbar

Beautiful views, thank you. I got a real shallow-draft boat I can hit all those sandbars and get in and out no problem.

Looking to see if there are GPS coordinated for any of the sandbars
We got some really nice #sandbar @ Puerto Rico, but not that big. Florida really is just the perfect spot for boaters.
Beautiful video. Venice has some nice sand bars, snake island and another one just north of the island 🌴. Great hang outs! #sandbar

Buy a new jack. They are inexpensive. The welder is gonna cost you though...
Can I braze the new jack to the trailer or I have to weld it with an arc welder?
Didnt understand the part where the location of these #Sandbars must remain secret. Why ? (1:13)
