I’m a fashion show photographer. The first girl with the plate on her head glanced at the camera for a split-second at 5:06.- Yes! Do that! The most important camera to be sure to look at is the camera that is dead center and is usually at about eye level. That will also keep you from looking down at the floor. But your objective is to look at as many camera lenses as you can. Do Not just walk down the runway looking at the center camera, look back and forth at all the photographers. When you get to the end of the runway, don’t just stand there like a statue. Move/sway your hips and legs, but always looking into as many camera lenses as you can. The girl at 5:55 turned around way too fast. I like how the girl at 7:38 swung her hair. Personally, I like smiles, like the girl at 10:59 and the girl in red after her. At the end of the show, don’t run away. Hang around and introduce yourself to as many photographers as you can. They will get you jobs.
Thank you, I am an aspiring runway model and am improving my catwalk and overall poses, and to hear this from a photographer, it was very reassuring, next year i plan on applying to some agencies, any ideas? The first one i'm going for is IMG! :)
Hi! My aunt is a professional model (she had walked the runway/catwalk on tv several times) and shes quite tall. I spoke with her about getting into the modeling career and she explained a few things to me. After that talk I realize that a majority of these girls are quite short, the shortest model to walk the runway was 5.2, and she got declined several times. If your serious about getting into modeling, please think about the reality of modeling. Good luck!
Kate Moss was 5' 6" and she looked very short in the early 1990 runways shows such as Chanel and Prada. People don't realize high fashion models are rare, genetic miracles. They've got amazing waist to hip ratios, they're at least 5' 9" tall and walk like they're on air. Let's hope that this modeling school isn't establishing false expectations for their students. Learning posture and comportment isn't a bad idea, but it won't necessarily lead to a high-end modeling career, either. I'll second your sentiment and wish them all the very best of luck.

I am 13 and really want to model when I get older. I have practiced my walk a couple times and it isn't that bad. If someone could give me some advice that would be really helpful. Thanks
Hey. I'm 23 and just started with modeling. My advice is do it because you want to and for fun - if it becomes a career for you in the process, awesome! Don't take yourself too seriously, because that's when it will start taking a mental toll on you. Your emotional and mental health should come first, and if that starts lessening consider taking a break. Also just be open to rejection. I applied to over 10 agencies and only heard back from maybe 2 or 3 - one was a call for in person. Didnt hear back after. The other two were basically rejections. But I've been able to network with photographers locally in my area (a lot through instagram) and start setting my own rates for shoots. But my recommendation really is to just start if you want to. With your parents permission, apply to agencies online. Look at the ones locally and then feel free to apply to the larger ones. All you need are digitals. So, black tank top. Form fitting jeans. No shoes or basic flats. No makeup (or very minimal like foundation and mascara). Have a parent or friend take them in natural light against a blank wall for you. Should include one set with hair down and the same with hair up: Close up face front Close up profile At 3/4 angle close up 3/4 angle with about your upper thighs in frame Full body side profile Full body front The agency sites will also have example photos for submissions. And if that doesnt work out - with your parents permission, start following and trying to network with photographers and other models near you on IG. Never go anywhere on your own. Always let your parent or friend know the address of where you're going. If a photographer says you cant bring someone, dont go (huge red flag). Look at their photos on IG - are these the type of photos you want to do? Etc etc
