I'm getting ready to compete in the Mrs. Colorado America pageant in April 2023. I just found your channel. Thank you so much for you incredibly helpful videos on interviews, and pageant poses, etc. ;-D
I am a photographer and will be working with 4 pageant girls in the next couple of weeks, and this video helped me with ideas on how to pose them for their photos. Thanks!
It depends on the floor but also just whatever you feel most comfortable in. (Everybody’s feet and past heel heights they’ve gotten used to are different..) I personally think no platforms are a little easier to start with.
*people are watching* PS: I found your channel today, and I'm just GLAD I did. It's the go-to for pageant aspirants and the way you explain is fun, detailed and easy to understand :)
@@CrystalClues Thank you so much darling. I want to love and support people. Like my friend Aurora. She is like a princess to me, the most beautiful girl I ever saw and I want to be like her. Support and love people.
LOCKING YOUR KNEE WILL MAKE YOU PASS OUT TRUST ME!!!! ( I am an ROTC, and we had a boy passed out because he lost his knees for too long. Our sergeant major always tells us not to lock are knees)
Thankyou, it is really helpful. However, I have a doubt when I try to turn in heels and heel makes a friction with the floor and creates a bad squeaking sound. Your suggestions to overcome this issue would be very helpful 😊 I Love your Videos (and your smile) ❤❤❤
Hi Pinaaki - you are so sweet. Thank you for leaving a comment that brings a mile to my face. In addition to moving your weight more to the balls of your feet , there are also some types of tape (gaffer's tape) that you can put on the bottom of your shoe to make it less loud. I'll make a video on that in the upcoming days!
haha I noticed I was repeating myself a few times...I have a dance background and that's how our teachers would do it. Got to keep repeating feedback until it finally *clicks* hehe
Im an upcoming model i feel very good I have a pageant in 1 week but I'm really struggling with the t-stance it's been really hard I really am struggling can you make a video about only the leg and t-stance movement
Locking the knees can indeed lead to fainting as it hinders the flow of blood to the brain. The lack of circulation often leads to a light-headed feeling and can end in the individual fainting. The best way to avoidthis situation, if you have to stand for a prolonged period of time, is to bend your knees.
Amanda, sometimes the ones who never place are the ones who truly gain the most from the experience. Personal growth and resilience are the real benefits...it's unintuitive but it's not always the crown. That being said, you go after your dreams with all you've got, girl! Your life is in your hands!
I remember when I went, to an audition, and the director asked me if I was a model. I asked why and he said because of the way that I was standing. I then told him that I was a beauty queen and he understood.
Do you think it's better to bobby pin your hair if its parted to one side than to do one-side ponytail? I did side ponytail at my previous second local pageant and found out in stage that it's hard to do a small sultry hair flip after doing the circle
Hi Lena - In general, unless you're a teen, I tend caution against using bobby pins to pin down your hair, the reason being that it can make your hair look really flat against your head. The typical pageant "look" is big volume, with your hair follicles lifted away from your scalp. It creates the illusion of having more hair and tends to look more flattering for most people. A side ponytail is also a more rare choice (it can invoke more of an '80s flair). If you're looking for that sultry hair flip and hair movement, I'd recommend learning to put your hair in rollers while focusing on getting more lift in the roots of your hair. I'll be honest and say that this is a weakness of mine but there are tons of tutorials on YT that focus on how to achieve that va va voom look using hot rollers -- give it a shot!
Hi Sweta - ruclips.net/video/zcgL1yvPZ7A/видео.html I made a prior video on how to smile (linked above) but I do see that there are other expressions in addition to smiling that I can and should cover in a future video. Stay tuned!
@@CrystalClues ya there are another exprsions tooo i want to know how to pose for modeling not just in ramp but also in like photoshoot lots of love to u
Divyanshi Baukhandi hi Divyanshi (not Sweta 😌) - to your question about the ideal weight for a female model, there is no universal “ideal” weight. Depending on what kind of modeling, certain standards can be pretty restrictive (runway for high fashion) while others are more relaxed (lifestyle, print modeling, hair modeling, etc.) Weight can also be a bit misleading because fit models tend to be on the heavier side due to muscle weighing more than fat. That being said I think it’s normal to want to drop weight and be the thinnest, slenderest version of yourself... especially in this culture that we live in. I know that was on my mind when I was a teen and trying to break into the world of pageants. What I would tell myself if I could go back in time is to continue focusing on eating lots of healthy fruits and vegetables and developing a genuine taste and love for non-processed food. Cut out all sodas and processed sugars. If you take a look at your diet, sometimes the least nutritious, high calorie culprits are the junk foods that taste good but really don’t do anything for our health.
Hi Sweta - Sure! I’m not a certified nutritionist but I def eat a lot of veggies/fruit and I have tried intermittent fasting too. It’s actually a pretty common topic that I researched when I was competing in pageants so I will add this to the list of videos that I need to make! (Just want to thank you for your patience in advance because I’ve had some life shifts on my end so just waiting for everything to settle down and for me to establish a normal routine to begin making videos and posting them again. Thank you so much for watching!)

@@CrystalClues so what shoes are more comfortable for turns is it stilleto shoes or platforms or it depends on the floor maybe?
It depends on the floor but also just whatever you feel most comfortable in. (Everybody’s feet and past heel heights they’ve gotten used to are different..) I personally think no platforms are a little easier to start with.
Very true
