Elden Ring gave me Post Trumpet Stress Disorder. That thing is terrifying. Amazing episode, beautiful story, great visuals, that new soundtrack was godly! WOW!
This right here is a prime example of why this is the BEST channel for BLEACH content (not just for reactions). Just freestyling 40 minutes of eloquent and informative analysis about the episode. The analysis is done an an intellectual, deep level and captures every detail of what Kubo wanted to communicate to its audience. Clearly everything what you analyze has been thought of and has matured ever since the chapters were first released. I never really understood why some people were upset fo Lille's design back in the day; to me it was BRILLIANT and captured the main motifs in BLEACH TYBW story. Honestly that design and its abilites (being literally made of light, Trompete, etc) blows my mind to this day. By the way, just before Lille first spoke you said "Please have a high-pitched FAQED UP voice" and I related so hard; in my mind he always sounded in such a freakish way. After cour 3 I really hope you will be able to release some further BLEACH analysis content, it will be amazing. Some ideas: it would be great if you make an overview of the main critisisms and strengths of TYBW since back in the day when the manga was coming out and how these evolved. Also, you could make ana analysis of how Kubo has handled some of the main ideas in BLEACH over the years, like justice, revenge, friendship, sacrifice, courage, etc. Have a good one!
Going on what the anime revealed, lille barro is from granada since people from there are the only ones calling red light, green light chocalate ingles (as far as i know)
@@storieswithstyleWhat I got from reading Bleach for so long and knowing Kubo is: it always comes back to bite my ass. Every Bankai we’ve seen has been shown to evolve and change with the person using it. There is NO implication that Kyoraku is somehow different from the rest. His bankai can and will change. But be it by getting other plays, or more acts, we don’t know of it yet. For now his bankai is just what we saw. It can and will change, that question is how
IIRC kyokotsu is "simply" katen's missing eye, she used the eye to make/birth another zanpakuto so there is no need for "intercourse" ( even though I wouldn't say no to ohana, I mean beyond the OP assets she looks cool and has a strong personality while being a caring person) also once again it's all about the eyes
According to the CFYOW, Tokinada was that person who proposed the idea of investigation to the Central 46 also implying that perhaps Nanao's mother had given the sword to unknown person and as the last resort the Central 46 could interrogate Nanao herself to find out the current location of that sword
Shinken Hakkyōken- (2) A zanpakutō that has been passed down through generations by the head of the Ise clan, a clan of priests. It is said to have the power to confront gods, take their power into itself and disperse it in all directions. It is a sword mainly used in rituals and since it has no blade, it cannot cut people. Nanao family zanpakuto has got to be the thing that killed the soul king. It says it takes a gods power reverses it on them and disperes the god all around . It's basically what happened to the soul king, his limbs were scattered all around the 3 worlds he created. So maybe soul king allowed this weapon to be used on himself
Would have been nice if it hadn't come out nowhere and had some sort of build up. Hell even a small foreshadowing via Nimaiya or even Ichibei would have made the reveal less of an asspull
Another piece of foreshadowing I guess you could count for Shinken Hakkyoken was in Senjumaru's Bankai, when Lille shot at the eight mirrors (same number that Shinken Hakkyoken has) and killed himself.
@@juhtahel7454 For me it it is Shunsui's life and him pushing on while losing everyone, now only have Lisa and Nanao and don't want Nanao to suffer. Which is why she struggled with the sword for she was being protected from combat most of her life and only relied on Kido while knowing that Shunsui was always by her side. For Nemu, the backstory helped little but it left knowing that all she had to do was get killed by Pernida after he used Mayuri's altered bankai's ability.
I would have liked this episode the most if it wasn't for the poorly written sword reveal. Comes out of nowhere with zero set up or build up and wins the fight........ Lame as hell. Nemu fight clears because of that and because it had actual consequences aka her death. This? Not much at all. Still looked pretty though. And sounded nice.
@@sammydray5919The anime is heavily culture centered. I read somewhere the comment that I agree with: Nanao Ise is just like if you read about Arthur Pendragon in a British book. It is almost as popular in Japan culture as Arthur is to British people. So getting “Excalibur” revealed is obvious if you’re in any way familiar with folklore and traditions. To a Japanese Shinken Hakkyoen is a treat they all see coming, while to you it seems like an asspull. Don’t forget that first and foremost, Shinigami represent Japanese culture. Katenkyokotsu Karamatsu Shinju is also a famous Japanese theatrical play, yet you don’t see it as an asspull, but it’s actually the same?
@albuspercivalwulfricbriand5363 Difference is in that instance even if a character has the Pendragon name, unless its specifically stated or hinted in story that they have connection to Excalibur, no sane person will automatically think that just because they have a name like that they'll definitely have that ability. Thats just pure stupidity. There still needs to be a story precedent that something like that exists within that story which Kubo failed with Nanao's sword. The story had no hint or set up that a sword like that even existed and more importantly that Nanao had a connection to it. Cultural differences won't fill that plot hole. Thats like naming a side character have the name godslayer and do nothing with them for 90% of the story, then when you suddenly have them kill an enemy that no one else could with zero prior set up by out of nowhere giving them the ability to slay the gods with the only justification is that they have godslayer in their name. Sorry but thats just utter nonsense.
I can´t help but think of Senjumaru´s bankai and its tremendous foreshadowing here. For example, in her Bankai, she tells Lile something along the lines of "sightless be to any go gaze upon their might". That could have been foreshadowing the fact that Lile wouldn't be able to watch at Nanao's Sword because of its power, leaving him sightless. And, of course, the fact that Lile got his powers reflected to him in the same way it was done back then against Senjumaru.
Another potential pure beauty layer I just realised, the light of trumpete turned everything it hit into nothing, while the only area "covered in shadow" existed, the kindness hidden in the shadows, goddamn bleach is the best
One big thing the anime version of this fight made me realize was that Lille probably kind of lost his mind after he turned into the owl form. The voice really emphasizes that, it feels as if after Shunsui used his bankai and Lille had to reform, it broke something inside him and now even if he survived, he'd never be the same. He became an abomination, shedding his cold cruel form of zealotry for one that venerates himself almost as much as Yhwach. He seems like he's in a manic high through the whole episode, and that kinda explains to me a lot of why he acts so stupid or weird at certain points here. Personally this is one of my favorite fights in Bleach, I love the biblical nature and all of the weird artistic choices, Shunsui and Lille are both characters I like a lot. Edit: About the future episodes, (OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS) I get the feeling that they want to end this cour on the reveal that Uryu is a double agent.
I love Lille's "biblically accurate angel" form; it makes me think of what Quilge said to Ichigo whan he called his Vollstandig 'creepy'; the manifestation of God's wrath should be utterly horrifying to behold.
If I remember correctly regarding if the Soul King let the nobles "kill him" or not its never officially stated, but Ichibē Hyōsube does theorize that the Soul King knew & let it happen because there's no way the Soul King with a more powerful version of The Almighty didn't know what was going to happen. Considering Ichibē was one of the 5 Special War Powers for his Wisdom its likely he's not far from the truth, so the Ise curse is likely a unfortunate side effect rather then from the Soul King himself.
A really cool detail is that Katen is missing her right eye, and the only part of Kyokotsu's face we see is her right eye. Also every dual zanpaktou in Bleach is a special case. Ukitake's became dual because he is a dual entity (because of mimihagi). Kyoraku turned one swrod/spirit into two in a way only he could have done. Ichigo has two spirits due to VERY unique circumstances.

I don't know why he said it that way, since it's not true. Though he did correct himself afterwards, it's still weird in my opinion
It was just used as a cliffhanger in the manga, basically. It was a quick explanation that Kubo could manage at the end of the chapter that would leave a great impression. Next chapter, with more time, he explained it properly.

Outside of Nanao's sword coming out of nowhere, this was a brilliant episode. Just wished the anime had set it up even just a little bit. Hell a little comment from Nimaiya or even Ichibei would have been enough to solve a lot of the issues with the sword. A lot of people are coping that this was the Soul King's sword. Glad I'm not he only one who adores the Owl form, it's genuinely perfect and my only complaint is that we didn't get to spend more time with it. Otherwise the anime did it pitch perfect
Also this is my headcannon, but since we saw the splitting of the world by the soul king (episode 2 cour 3 although we saw this scene multiple times IIRC) where he used 1 sword to sever the world and then there were ripples from 3 other points (other swords ?) My belief is that Shinken Hakkyōken is the sword that is used to anchor/create soul society. If my guess is correct the ritual used 3 swords as focal points reverberating the power of the sword in the soul king's hand to generate a world around each of these swords, and the ability to "repel and disperse in all direction" would be needed to create a radius, and in this radius create a world. Which could help making Shinken Hakkyōken more foreshadowed I guess. this also would mean that there is a similar sword (at least in properties) in hueco mundo and another one in the living world

@storieswithstyle ok, I always thought that the enemy attacs get nullified by "aging" them away before they can reach him. Maybe if the attack do instant ranged dammage respira wont affect them enough?
Yeah, that was my take. He did not age soifons rocket enough second time and it was not that fast. Everytime he is in a barrier, it also takes time to eat it away. Hacchi should have just used kurohitsugi 🤔
Similar but not the same. Barragan is a lot weaker so he's not immune to attacks like Sui-Feng's Ban-Kai which broken half his skull face, Lillie Barro is a fully Transcendent being & is light years (pun intended) above Barragan. Also weirdly Barragan got his power from the Hogyoku (a Eldritch entity) where as Lillie got his power from "God" so a bit of Heaven & Hell spliced into the Arrancar & TYBW arcs from Kubo.
There is a reason why newlyweds make their vow befor the God. It's to receiev divine blessing for long and happy married life. But Shinken Hakyoken reflect and disperce God's power, including his blessings. So I don"t think there is a curse in the first place. It's just a unfortunate side effect of possesing that blade.
Can any of you bleach mega scholars answer a question for me. Is it significant that Lille barro can’t see the zanpukto spirit? I thought he was supposed to have divine sight or something in his holy form or am I misremembering that?
