I have heard there is a button you have to map for launch control??
Yes, you need to map a button to 'arm traction control' in options

@@DanielOliverRacing Just be careful. It limits your RPM in first gear, but disarms when you change up to second. If you are at 100% throttle when you shift to second you will loop it across the track.

I've actually found that I'm faster off the line without launch control o.O
i have already (even in week 13) had some of the best battles in open wheel cars on the service i've ever had, and it was strategic on where we used overtake and when we were defending without it around Fuji. it is one of the best additions in a long time
Ohhh yes I'm hoping this car stays strong! I do like the push to pass and the longer races it will be more of a challenge to manage!
Only done one race in it last night. I just use totally manual clutch pedal and managed to judge it quite well. I was surprised by the traffic jam ahead of me with cars all over the place struggling to get away!
Yes there is also a button for launch control you have to map which should help with starts
I really loved it yesterday. Though I'm not so sure 15min fixed is a bad idea anymore - it was a workout and a half!

Thanks for the video mate, did you ever find a way to remove the overtake screen on the display when using it? If using it for your entire lap, it can get a bit distracting and not seeing your gears
No not yet, I don't think there is one. It's super annoying!! Glad you like the video!

Not an easy car to drive. I expected it to be easier. I drove the RSS Supreme in Assetto Corsa (same car) and that one is absolutely glued on the track. The iracing one is not so beginner friendly, easier than the Merc W13 for sure though.
Yeah I fully agree, its so so fast and gripy in the high speed and then really really slow and stupid in the slow stuff!

How would you make the “front nose” transparent? My one shows the “ antena” is quite annoying !!!
In iRacing graphics options there is a "hide obstruction", middle column at the bottom, you need to select "all" 👍👍

Yeah I do think short races are OK, but in C, B AND A class races you don't have fast repairs and normally people are more aggressive in short races

Do you know if you get any push to pass in practice/qually. I didn’t have a button mapped in the one race I did, but when I went back in to a practice session and got it setup it came up on the wheel but just stayed at 199. I didn’t appear to get any advantage with it on or off?
No push to pass in qualifying. Not sure about practice, I was in a test session and it said 999 and had no cool down!
It was relative powerful in the race we had yesterday

And yes I think it is quite powerful judging by how fast cars were steaming past me on the straights at Suzuka when I didn’t have it mapped. Do you think it would make the car even more of a handful, as well as being wasteful, if you left it on through the twisty bits of any given racetrack
From my Lmp1 days, the extra power is most useful out of slow corners, but getting the power down on the raid will be harder!
suzuka I would say out of spoon corner would be good, 130r should be flat out and its the longest straight.
The start finish would be OK too, but it sweeps to the right and down hill so that could be dangerous! 😂😂
@@Tdi99 I think at Suzuka you could probably deploy it all the way from exit of the hairpin to the end of the start finish straight and just be careful coming out of the chicane!!
Has anyone played around with the tps settings?
yes, so i suggest looking up on google "racing superformula manual". they have a pdf with everything explained in 29 pages. 9 is linear, whatever trottle % is what torque you get, 1 is the most S meaning lower % pedal input results in lower torque numbers until you get to around 70-80% where the S curve is more torque compared to pedal input.
if anything is gonna kill this car, it is going to be 15 minutes sprint races

in all of week 13 races i had good qualifies and awful starts, i can't launch this car no matter what (i don't have a clutch pedal or a dual clutch system). At least the battles are fun

i'm playing iracing for about a month often and i can't control cars that have a lot of power and you need to be not agressive on the throttle so...i don't think that's a car for me lol
Yeah this car has stupid power!
One thing that I do is take a car (FF1600 or the vee) and open a test session with damage turn off, then play a game called "the track is lava". Basically do laps all in the grass, Donington Park is the best, this will teach gentle braking and throttle to slide the car around. It's fun but also has helped
1st gear is off limits on the track, full throttle in 2nd is off limits and is mostly used for rotation, 3rd needs to feathered. more challenging and faster than the fr3.5. I am looking forward to the series!

I’m afraid this will die! Hopefully not but we know how iRacing community is. I think you’re correct about the short 15 minutes. People are not gonna wanna spend time to practice so much for 15mins. Time will tell.
Yeah I fear that too! I'm hoping we are both wrong but that 15mins is a mistake in my opinion!
