I’ll be trying the super formula for sure!. The FR3.5, did have a resurgence, but I do think this might kill it. So mixed feelings on that one. I love F1 so much, and the W12 was amazing. Love that car. But I honestly just hate how the W13 looks.
Ya they will be staggered, but the same racers already split there time between F4, F3, LMP3, LMP2, FR3.5, F1 and more. But trust me, I really hope super formula is popular. There is not enough participation in B license open wheel atm. I just hope the car drives good 😊 .
Not worried at all. SF is what the iRacing open series really needed. I hope it also stays relevant for a long time because I know the car is really fun to drive. :)

The numbers have dwindled down and the racing has been scarce. Many times with 6 or 7 cars and only single splits. They need to add more options for F1 for me to rejoin. The W14 looks more promising but still not on rails like the W12. We shall see.
Unfortunately the W12 was too easy to drive and struggled with the W13's difficulties which has meant it has suffered. The Tour races (100% Length) are really well supported tho so there is still life in the series. Hopefully we get the W14 added to help boost interest again
Also a note - iracing confirmed it would run alongside the fr3.5, alternating hours with fr3.5, it will be a 30 min race and at the same time as fr3.5 it would run a shorter, fixed race (15 mins)
tbh, I also see this being a decent alternative for those who ran the IndyCar road course races... Now that IndyCar made the baffling move to sign with MSG, I can see a lot of people choosing to just run this instead since they can stream it without issue...

@@felixarbable you're behind the times a bit. iRacing lost the indy car license, MSG was given that license, and the indy car console game is one of the cancelled titles I mentioned before. iRacing has since gotten that license back and the indy car is back on the service.
This is what I needed. Been sitting at B class for a while b/c I want to stick to open wheels when it comes to SR but wasn’t feeling the FR3.5 and Indy died.
F3.5 has sidepod damage (like driving over a landmine) at certain tracks, so limited track selection, no AI, no new damage model so car bounces around (like a lot) after a big crash, no updates for a long time, SF23 looks like a much better fit for Formula B
I've been reading that since 2020 and the pandemic there's only been one tyre compound and the races have been shortened to 180km so they don't need to refuel during the pitstop. Doesn't look like they've gone back to having either of these since. So I'd imagine that there will be only a single tyre compound for the SF23-Toyota on iRacing. Would be interesting to see if they introduce a new race rule, similar to the existing compound change rule, that requires a pit stop with tyre change even though you won't be swapping compounds. Many league admins would love that rule for other series, I'm sure.
Possibly. It might make it easier for people to step up to F1 tho. Not as big of a leap coming from F4 or F3. Split license is what we really need I think
Would love to see Indy NXT added in because of the Oval Package those cars have. Also just curious but is Knockout Qualifying racing meant to be similar to heat racing where there's a cut off position that you must be at or in front of to make the actual race? or is it more like a typical Time Trial?
Since 2020 each race only 180km and no two compound tyre at all so now race is only 180km and only one compound tyre race, and race also held at Autopolice circuit. and we have 7 events and 9 races so only first round and final round we have 2 races in single weekend but the other round we only have a race per event
In short: It's Japanese version of IndyCar......on Steroids In Long: the steroids i mention came from the fact that these cars were a just a handfully slower than F1 cars in normal trim, and should it had a superspeedway kit and a bit of detune, the 4 cylinder engine might clock 230mph at Indy. For many open wheel fans, this car is a wet dream that should've been racing in US. However, bless whatever in the head of Penske corp and the Teams, we not getting a new car until a foreseeable future.
@@stuffeyy yeah im still hoping as the gt500 class is something different with really cool cars coming out. Next year there is a mid engine rwd civic typer gt in the gt500 class. Would be awesome to have that whole series. This update does give me hope
I'm really into open wheelers, specially high powered and medium to high downforce. The FR3.5 is a great car, but a bit too underpowered for me. The F1 is simply too complex. I think these are going to be perfect for me.
I have seen after posting that this has changed, mainly due to restrictions imposed by COVID. Okayama is a great track and should be back on there calendar plus a 2 compound rule always makes racing more interesting
The Missed Apex community are running a league on it which has helped with participation. It has always had a very strong core community throughout its time on iRacing also
Am a tad disappointed it does not have the full length races. I appreciate on one hand allowing us to be able to do back to back races but it seems like they've tried to accommodate the F3.5 community and just too many people. Let's see if this changes

I think this will eventually kill FR3.5 - I did the whole season in Q3 and I don't think there are enough people interested to keep 2 series going.

I think the gap between F3/3.5 needed closing a bit and this seems like the perfect option! Jumping from F3 to F1 series is too much of a jump IMO

Thanks buddy 👍🏻 It won't have TC or ABS, similar to how all other open wheel cars are. Those assists are only really available in GT & LMP/LMDH cars

It is in effect the same as how F2 or F1 works with Q1, Q2. Q3. The slower cars get knocked out of the session and the Fastest shoot it out for Pole
