Legend has it Tony is still in this session trying to find a clean continuous lap.
Haha its been a long night 😂😂😂
Very similar to my races lol. Fuji is a nightmare to pass. What makes it worse is trains form and if you are at the back there's not a lot you can do. I poodled around for 8 laps once and went 2.0 secs faster like you did on the last lap. 2nd fastest car in the race but just stuck.
I didn't realize the new body damage model. Now you can see right through the car
yeah its good to see the inside of other peoples cars lol!
turbo🤤
Hey man awesome videos I watch every time you post. Question for you, since this was open setup what did you do different than fixed? Can you share setups? I wanna do open races but don’t know where to find the setup for each track, thanks a lot!
I was half tempted to try the fixed setup in this open race and just adjust the full until I saw the SOF 😂😂
I get my setups from majors garage which is a paid service, so I can't share. Best thing I would recommend is jump into a open practice session and see how you lap times compare to others in practice (people will be using full boost)
Further to what the great man himself said (although I personally prefer the VRS setups), you also find some very kind people sharing their personal setups on Garage61, which I know @Tdi99 also uses. :) And Garage61 is free.
To be fair, the fixed is usually a pretty decent baseline, just play with the downforce levels and ride heights. You want run as low as possible without bottoming out. Also, since this car has fixed gearing and you're going to be on the limiter on long straights anyway, the penalty to running higher levels of downforce may sometimes be 'less' than you'd expect.
The car's manual (which has since been released) goes into some detail on setup too. You can find it here: www.iracing.com/resources/user-manuals/
HTH!
You didn't get your laps counted because you were blinking like crazy the whole race. Sometimes these connection issues only go one way, but unless you have an ancient router or something I'm not sure there's anything to be done. I was the 19 car in this race, mildly offended you didn't think I would give room but I'll get over it somehow. Love your content, keep it up!
haha I did wonder if I was blinding to everyone else, I did check my router firmware and I have 1gb internet so it was a shock for me.
and don't worry about my comment, its more that corner than you, and my internet in the race. As we went into the corner you were in my blind spot and i was worried that if you didn't leave space (which you did easily) I didn't want us to crash, or get net-coded. The safer option was for me to go wide.
also you did leave me for dust after that lol
It was an incredibly infuriating race for me, I qualified P7 but lost a bunch of spots to slower drivers avoiding the mess out of T1, who then tried their damnest to wreck right in front of me, and checking up for this made even more slower drivers bully their way past.
I need more elbows out in these kind of fields, but I'm getting there. Rest of the week has been a lot better. Hope to see you on track again soon.
Yeah I have to admin, given this is a formula car, the drive has been super aggressive. The front wing falls off by just looking at it 😂😂
The abnormal lap thing can be due to network sync issues. I had it when I had network issues ( well, I didn’t, iRacing didn’t like my router ). In my case it led to me being booted from the server a couple of times and getting a DNF so watch out for it.
yeah 100% I've never had every lap, 1 or 2 yes but not all of them lol!
I had the same last night at Monza. Last season I had similar problems but then reset QoS on the router and it was ok. Will try the same thing again and see if it works.
I haven't had this issues since that night so no idea what happened?
Rumor has it that after narrowly avoiding getting smashed by a front wing to his face (12:32), Tony will from now on drive with the Halo enabled again.
On a more serious note, I'm glad to see significantly less carnage than in the Week 13 races!
halo saved my virtual head!
Even brushing the curb I am not sure where these people in 1:21 are gaining so much time.
21s are silly lol!
I dont think you used the overtake button once.
I used it twice to complete 2 laps, the last lap was full overtake
