      @@yousefcreative Hey Yousef! I won't disclose numbers but it's very fair! I was approached by a channel with more subs and more views about a year ago, and they wouldn't even entertain it lolll

    • @yousefcreative
      @yousefcreative Год назад +8

      @@KyleLeeman Cool. I respect you don't want to share the number but it would be beneficial for 1,000's of video editors out there who are trying to figure out what to charge, and also to make sure they're not being taken advantage of.
      I average $70/hr for RUclips channels who have 200k to 500k subs. I briefly worked with a channel that has 800k subs and was being paid $100/hr. Hope you're making similar amounts!

    Great interview; I'd love to see a video putting together how you define and document your video language for an editor!
    I'm still doing all my editing; and it's a fun way to express and explore RUclips as a creative outlet; but also; my ideas are pouring in for videos faster than I can edit them; so this would be a good exercise to know how to set-up and do;
    **Side note for me to come back to;

    Striving to improve is some amazing advice. Its so easy to get into editing, but its so hard to really do well unless you strive to improve. I started editing for free when I was 12, and now I own a channel and am paying for college expenses. While I wouldn't even begin to call myself a master editor, striving to improve brings you so far, its honestly insane.

    I'm curious to get your guys thoughts on this. I've been video editing for roughly 15 years now since I was 7 starting out on imovie. As the years go by and I improve each year I find it takes longer and longer for me to edit my own videos compared to 15 years ago. But when I professionally edit for other clients it doesn't take me as long as when I edit my own videos. Does that happen to you too?

The thing I loved the most is how y'all talked from both points of view, not only the editor or the creator and it filled me with hope that one day, more bosses start thinking the way that you do, realizing that yes, the editor attitude towards feedback and learning is important, but also the way that we get the material and that feedback matters.
