- The surviving son of convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh is breaking his silence. Buster Murtaugh is opening up nearly six months after his father was found guilty of killing his mother and brother, Paul. The 26-year-old spoke with Fox News' Martha MacCallum. In the interview, Buster doubles down on what he says is his father's innocence despite the overwhelming evidence that pointed to his guilt.
That family is outright scary. All those deaths connected to them.
Seriously!
The housekeeper was the first of Alex's kills.
Wolves in sheeps clothing... The whole lot of the Murdaugh's.
The dad. He had experience with previous bodies that he was arrogant enough to kill his son and wife.
It's so unfortunate that son behaves like a dad while dad behaves like a son
He’s a sociopath too.
Yes, he has no emotion. @@davidbarnes4742
wake up dude. he killed your mama. killing a brother is horrifiic enough hut your mother is unforgivable
@@davidbarnes4742how so?
He’s either in complete denial or he’s completely in on it
He’s a sociopath like his dad. He is just like him
Yeah…. I think I agree
He probably hid as much as possible his dad's money!
Isn't he guilty of a crime his family covered up?
He's under investigation for a gay guy his age that was killed on a dirt road not far from their house after rumors of a relationship between him and buster......
Wait, did he just say his father is innocent in one statement, but then agreed that he portrayed attributes of a psychopath???
Word Salad!!
OK good I just had to come here to verify that’s what I heard.
He is saying he can be a psychopath for all the things he admitted to but isn't a murderer. I think he is a murderer.
Yup
Yep.
It’s so sad that he is in such denial because he doesn’t want to see his father as a monster, but the evidence is there. He even inadvertently said it himself. I hope he gets through it ok.
Meh who cares
He was raised by the monster, which means indoctrinated in the insanity. Survival was become one with evil, to undo that is rare
He’s a murderer himself killed Stephen smith
He has the same characteristics as his dad. A narcissistic sociopath
You made a foolish comment. You certainly do not know who his father was, other than what the State used as tactical in a way meant only to sway jury. This young man would know more, the heart and mind of his father than any Court, any prosecutor, and yes, even the defense attorneys. Your comment suggests young man is dillusional. Far from it! He is of sound mind. He's not going to soil the memories of his birth mother and bloodline brother, in order to publicly attempt to convince you, me or any other total stranger out here in lala land that pops is innocent only to make himself and pops look good! Nothing to gain from it!
It’s not hard to believe he thinks his dad is innocent. Having to come to grips with your dad destroying your family has to be harder than hell.
I think he’s in on it, he probably murdered Stephen Smith too
Not when the evidence is crystal clear.
@@Charlesbjtown if you've never experienced it, you'll never understand
@@hawaiianwater1913 We'll definitely have to agree to disagree on this one.
@@CharlesbjtownI agree with you personally but not everyone has the same mindset. Maybe he held his dad in such high regard that this is an absolutely world shattering, mind melting thing for him to accept. Or maybe he's a psycho too and just wants his dad free. We can't really know I guess
Let's not forget about Gloria Satterfield who was mysteriously found dead at the bottom of the steps. Along with Mallory Beach & Stephen Smith death seems to follow the Murdaughs everywhere.
I especially thought of Stephen as soon as I heard of this interview!
Forgotten in all of this is the case of Hakeem Pinckney, a young black man who was a quadriplegic who had millions token from him by Murdaugh. He died when his ventilator was turned off for half an hour as he lay in a nursing home. No one is investigating that or mentions him.
And Hakeem Pinckney.....Alex unplugged his ventilator. Sadly, every one forgets him because he is Black.
Buster was in a relationship with Stephen!
He had life insurance on his house keeper and killed her so he got the insurance money this guy is an absolute disturbed mf
From what I understand, Senior Murdaugh pulled Buster out of some precarious situations that resulted in several other mysterious deaths. He wears grief a little too well.
What do you understand?
This!
Exactly
@JB-ms9du understands rumors and heresy lol
Evidence?
He absolutely knows his father is guilty but was raised to always save face and protect the family reputation.
That’s a good point
Ronald Weasleys cousin is acting just like a lawyer would do
That's what they do.
Which reputation?! They were his mom and brother
He knows his dad is guilty but still doesn’t want to believe it
Probably a psychological self protection mechanism. Itd be too hard to lose his father too so soon after losing the rest of his family. Once he's had enough time to grieve them and can mentally and emotionally handle losing his father too he may see things differently. He probably can't handle the reality of the full situation yet so his mind is not allowing the acceptance of the information to protect him.
No one would if there's no solid evidence.
Video is basically the only thing people would believe.
@anonnymous31 but their is a video taken moments before Paul was killed playing alex at the crime scene
Because his dad got him off. This interview or snippet anyway, garbage.
It‘s all about appearances, probably his uncles convinced him to do so. He knows 100% that his dad did it. It‘s a shame that he would do this for the sake of some money … They were his mother and his brother
So many deaths surrounding your family, the girl, your brother, your mother, your housekeeper, the gay schoolmate...someones guilty or your family is cursed beyond belief.
Well, his father is in prison now, so...
"Im trying not to break down"...as he sits in court smirking
Those were his facial expressions. You can't look at how someone sits in an audience watching his father get convicted of murdering his mother and brother and form a decent opinion. Can't convict them on how they look. And thank goodness for that.
I'm assuming the interviewer didn't ask him about hiw his secret gay friend wound up dead?
thank you. the only one pointing that out!
There is no way I’m the only one that thinks he looks like the villain from the Incredibles
That whole family is twisted.
Hes just as guilty as his dad!!
Justice for Stephen Smith ❤
No proof!
This is the first I’ve heard of this case at all. Can you explain why you (and others I’ve seen make similar comments) think the son is guilty too?
It’s all in the Netflix documentary!! But basically Stephen Smith was a gay kid found dead in the middle of the road. Word got around in the small town that it was Buster and his friends that killed him. Paul’s ex girlfriend is in the documentary and she said that one time she brought up Stephen’s murder in front of Alex murdaugh and he got very angry and said “we don’t talk about that Fa****
No proof whatsoever
@mrs.elizabethdarcyladyofpe1288 essentially, people believe buster had something to do with stephen smiths death. He was found dead on a highway with injuries that aren't similar to a pedestrian accident. Theres enough evidence that stephen was exhumed and they're opening his case back up. I suggest watching some videos on it!
Lol, why did they start by calling him the "red headed son"?
My thoughts exactly 🤔 very unnecessary
I didn’t think it was funny until you pointed it out 😂😂😂😂
I laughed at that part too 😂
Bro. 😂
He’s just as evil as his father
How so?
Why would you say that? My goodness, his dad killed his mother and brother!!! And don't say he was in om it or he killed someone cuz there is absolutely no proof
Everyone mourns in different ways
I don't know, the lead off of this story being "the red headed son of" strikes me the wrong way. Unless they're gonna start every news story with the person's hair color, this is just subtle ginger-shaming, like his being red-headed somehow puts him at fault for being the son of a convicted murderer, or makes him a spectacle in some way
Does he even care his own Mother and Brother?? Wow….
Where did you get that from?
JUSTICE FOR STEPHEN SMITH!!! That boy is a murderer too! Like father like son!
I'm with ya
I know it’s easy to point the finger at him but there is literally no proof
Can’t wait for an internet mob to come after you one day
@@StaceyJoy14proof is he’s gay
Can you name one thing that makes him guilty? You just throw this out there with absolutely no proof?
I have a feeling theres more to come out about this family.
I don’t trust this guy
Buster laundered money for his dad when his dad was imprisoned.
Buster helped remove evidence after his dad committed those murders.
Buster had a hand in Stephen Smiths death.
Buster is as sick as his father.
He is werid looking
Wow! He’s his dad twin.
Hopefully he doesn’t have his dad’s ways..
This was the same family where one son drunkenly wrecked a boat and killed a girl but it was all covered up and covered over.
I'm 99% sure this was the same family
He knows his father killed his mother and brother.
He’s “breaking his silence” just at the right moment when his dad is seeking a second trial….don’t be fooled the game is always on folks.
I didn’t even have to know the whole story , one look at him and he knows more that what he’s giving off, his pops loved him, when your a favourite child, you bloody know everything
What about Stephen Smith??
The ESPN guy?
You want a fart?
He knows his dad did this …. Don’t let the son fool you . This all started with Paul and his girlfriend dying in boat crash.
How many unexplained deaths and illegal activities to do with this family does their have to be.
They dont call themselves Murda for nothing. Messing with a another man. This dude is just as guilty as his dad.
His dad got in trouble in prison and lost all his privileges. Phone, iPad, phone and other things. Alex still is a manipulative person period.
Poor guy. I can't imagine losing my Mom and only sibling and then find out my Dad did it and so you end up losing your entire immediate family. I can understand his mind would want to reject that it was his father. Noone wants to lose everyone. Now he not only has to mentally and emotionally fight the evidence and guilt of his 1 remaining family member but also live in fear of some unknown murderer out there or something. Can't even imagine how lonely and painful that all must be.
Totally agree, I feel so bad for Buster. Wish ppl would just leave him alone 🤍
Buster gay he should be in jail too
Buster has a permanent smirk on his face.
@@Jerry-lw6uf🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What about Steven Smith must we forget that was def a murder
He kind of hinted at the end of the interview that he believes his dad is a psychopath and that to me means he knows his Dad is Guilty. He for whatever reason has forgiven his Father. I could be reading that completely wrong but that's how I see it.
Obviously read it wrong. He’s saying something has to be wrong with him to have manipulated people dealing with tragedy and stealing their money. I believe Alex committed or was there during the murders but I can still be rational.
Wow. Denial is a very powerful thing!
I believe he is the split image of his father , in every way possible !
I hope he will get through it, overall this situation is just really sad
Don't know if you followed this family story. But the son is evil also. His dad covered up two deaths for him. And the father murder the mother and the youngest son to collect life insurance. One of them was a gay teenager he was involved with the other was when he hit a teen girl while he was drunk on a speed boat.
It's not just 'sad' - it's criminal on several levels: acting improperly as a lawyer and de-frauding his clients in order to fuel his drugs and gambling addictions; being directly responsible for the deaths of his wife and younger son, and I'm sure having something to do with the deaths of his housekeeper; covering up the involvement of his younger son in the reckless homicide of Mallory Beach and his elder son's involvement in the death of Stephen Smith. Etc.
“The red headed son” was that necessary?😂😂
First of all his name is Buster. Second of all he is a redhead. He can't be trusted.
What's wrong with red hair though? I think it's cool af because of how rare/unique it is lol.
@@dangercat9188 Gingers don't have souls!
@@dangercat9188the devil has red hair. Enough said.
Erm no he’s bald with two horns and a black goatee
@@Jethawk72 you watch too many movies. The real devil.
This is a family of ACTORS that have been performing for the public for DECADES. Buster is only speaking out because of his connection to the boy that was murdered . This is no doubt a REHEARSED script . ✌️
Well I don't blame the guy for how he feels some people just don't want to see their family member go to jail or anything bad happened to them even though they're guilty🤔
denial is a big part of the grief process. Think about that before you pass judgement
Your right, probably with all the money this family has accumulated over the years he can probably forget about it after spending all of it🙄🙄🙄
given the death connected to him, I will pass judgement all I like
Exactly thank you
I feel sorry for Buster; imagine having parents and a brother that you love and you're always a family of four. In a matter of a week his mom, brother and grandpa died. His grandma was unwell. And then his dad goes to jail for life. Yes, he has uncles and aunts and cousins, but at the end of the day he has really lost the 3 most important people in his life. He must be very lonely.
What about the girl his brother killed
@@jvj5644these people were his family. She wasn't a close family member
its very veery sad indeed
@@jvj5644 well, and you know, Buster was the catalyst for Mallory's death, if he gave Paul his ID to buy the alcohol (I don't know if he gave it to Paul, or Paul took it without asking). You could go on to say that if Paul had not had Bustsr's ID that night, there probably wouldn't have been the crash that night, Alex would not have been desperate and killed his wife and son and therefore the only person that would have died that week was the grandfather.
So, Buster must carry a lot of feelings of guilt, even if all he did is what a lot of other brothers do for their kid brother. It was Paul's decision to use a fake ID, to drive while intoxicated. It was Alex's decision to kill his wife and son.
@@thenightporterthat kid would’ve got his alcohol one way or another. Yes buster should be held responsible for handing him over his ID but just that. Clearly that kid had access to whatever it is that he wanted.
“When I go to bed at night I have a fear that there’s somebody else still out there.”
Well, i respect his last answer. He’s not in complete denial.
Ed Sheeran + mark Zuckerberg
His body language when asked if he had a romantic relationship with Stephen, he nods, and then says no, when asked if he was with the people that beated him up, he nods and then says no. Yikes.
Sucks that he's in denial. He loves his dad, its his dad. He understands him on a deeper and more intimate level then anyone. Having grown up as his son. I mean if it was my dad or your dad, who knows. We might feel the same way because again... it's our dad. Even with all the evidence. I'd do everything to not believe my dad was a manipulating evil sonbitch. It's involuntary to be in denial. Our brains work in a mysterious and complicated ways.
Yep well put.
Totally agree. Wish ppl would have a little empathy and leave this poor guy alone. He’s been through enough 🤍
I think people don’t understand the involuntary aspect of it. His entire family is gone so suddenly and his dad brutally murdered his mom and brother. I don’t even know how I’d start to process that
He’ll likely come to it eventually but I hope he gets a lot of therapy
Every time I hear the name buster why do I think of a rabbit?
Didn’t Buster kill one of his classmates…. 👀
That’s not the only one! Another judge in town and even their maid was found dead “ suspiciously.” It’s a sick sick family worse than a horror movie !
He only has his father left he will continue to think he could be innocent until the day comes where he realizes he doesn't need his dad for anything and starts really thinking about all the lies i feel for him very sad situation
Denial is one of hell of a drug !
love how hes in fear for his life of the person that killed his mother and brother but the man is in jail lol
Like father like son!
1stop - a convenience store. Fined MILLIONS $$
Last stop - a bar for shots. Fined NOTHING
?
When pain is too overwhelming a person can go into complete denial and shutdown. He is at this point. Poor kid. He too has a life sentence........losing his whole family, reputation and legacy.
Wasn’t he a murder suspect in the death of a classmate? I believe he may know more or be involved more in these deaths than what he lets on.
I can see why doesn't want to see the truth of what happened. It would be too much darkness for him to bear.
Where can I watch that doc series?
Sorry- this opened with "The red-headed son." Why?
Really… How exactly is his hair color relevant?
Busta had something to do with it. Busta and his dad did this together, and Alex decided to be the fall guy
The way hes sitting with his legs cross give it away
He’s completely in denial or completely involved in it .
Id hope with time he can come to terms with what his dad did.
I would love this to be the last time I ever see this kids face, name, or story. Goodbye to the Murdocks.
Hallelujah
What a strong person
“The redheaded son” is this allowed?!?
Guilty as his dad, maybe the mastermind of it all.
He did do it. I'm sure if this was my father, it would be equally difficult to believe, but the truth came through when Paul had his dad on video and audio.
It’s sad to see Buster lose his immediate family like this. Prayers to Buster as he recovers from the trauma 😢 I wish the same for the heavenly souls of Paul and Maggie 💐and may Alex Murdaugh suffer everyday for the rest of his pathetic insignificant life until he leaves the prison in a body bag and meets the devil in hell. Stay strong Buster! I wish you a good life ahead of you!!
The whole family is evil. Look into them.
He’s not clean either.. runs in the family
@@luckofhan Bro, you’re saying that Alex ain’t the only demon in the family? The Murdaughs were good people up until Alex ruined everything. The damage Alex did to the Murdaughs is far worse than was Andrew did to the Cuomos. Alex is beyond evil, but not the rest of the family.
Leave him alone to grieve. My heart goes out to him because of his denial due to his own experiences. Bless his heart.
The red headed son…seriously inside edition hahah
“GINGERS DO HAVE SOULS”
Is this the whole interview?
Buster sitting with his Emotional support straight girl.
He knows his dad is innocent bc he’s the killer 😂
The greatest victory in all of this would be for Buster to come out and admit his relationship with Stephen. By the way he’s sitting, he’s considering it.
This ginger needs to face justice for the kid he most likely had a hand in killing in 2015.
Oh please. He’s in on it and knows who killed his mother and brother.
No one wants to think their loved one is capable of any horror.
God bless Buster!
It's amazing he says that in the end after claiming his father's innocence. This is sad on so many levels.
I mean, It’s pretty understandable to be in denial. That’s a hard place to be in, poor guy.
Buster you’re next Justice for STEPHEN SMITH!!!!!!
I remember when this whole documentary came out my parents were talking about I honestly have not thought about this until I saw this video
The Murdaughs look like The real life O’doyle family from sandler movies
Did they just have to say "the red headded son" wtf.
Socialpathology. Runs deep in that family.
So how does he feel abt all the Millions he stole from innocent people? YES lies, His father is a psychopath. GLAD he admitted to that one.
I vote send Ginger Buster to the big Gingerbread house with Ginger Dad ✅✅
He’s guilty as well
He was next to die. He just can't accept it
So Buster agreed that his father is a psychopath according to the definition of a osychopath. Is that what I heard?
What if the son did it and the father took the blame???
MOTIVE?
It will take many years for him to come to terms with what his dad did
He’s in on it
Buster himself is not a will reputed person.
I don't believe it' a matter he should ever speak about publicly b/c NO ONE will ever understand his plight. The man that raised him from birth, is accused of KILLING the woman who birthed him, changed his diapers, wiped his runny nose, and all the other things that come with a "True mother" pretty damn hard to reconcile. Something i can not even rap by brain around.
