Lasers aren't even that much money either. They range from like $50 to $1000 on the high end and are a game changer when it comes to making sure everything is level without spending too much time doing so. It's always best to double check with a regular level however because if you drop the laser or anything happens to it it can fuck it up

I've pex-ed 5 houses fully. Pex-A is great! It's those "brackets" for the stub out are sh**ty. If you put a stainless steel supply line for the water heater, the "bracket" doesn't keep the stub out pipes straight. They kinda get crisscrossed in/outwards, or pushed up. I prefer a solid straight connection, so I pex onto a dog ear elbow female thread and stub out with a galvanized or brass pipe.
Another note, if you pex into a "pex-to-valve" fitting, you'll have to cut off the pex-valve WHEN (not if) the valve fails, shortening your stub out. Better to use the pex-to-fe/male thread fitting, then screw on your valve.
Edit: Lol! Drop ears! Didn't catch that til now. Thank you Mr. Anderson. Dog ears sound more fun. I'm leaving it.

And in Germany the whole stone wall needs to be cut open with a double or triple diamond-blade array - then foaminsulated copper pipe is being fixed to the wall!
This for sure looks way easier!
I have never seen plastic pipe being used for drinking water though..
My in-floor-heating has some special pöastic pipe...but for drinking water I do not know if code allows it in Europe...
