me too she explains the patterns very clearly i had tried to learn to read patterns for the last 6 months until i found her video and understood it the first time i watched her video thanks ever so much for kinsey b
I think you are literally the only person on RUclips that has posted this type of video on how to read a pattern. Others show the pattern and talk about (which doesn’t really help) but they don’t transfer it by actually doing it. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
I just found your channel the other day and have been following some of your tutorials cause I am new to friendship bracket making. I saw really cute patterns I wanted to do and didn’t know how to read them and I watched many other youtubers on how to read patterns and I didn’t understand until I watched yours and now I understand thank you so much ❣️❣️
thank you Kinsey i have been trying to learn to read patterns for 6 months until i found your video and i understood it the first time i watched your video you explain it very clearly thank you so much
Thank you thank you thank you !! I’m old as hell trying to make these things to keep me busy and I could not figure the patterns out to save my life lol. You’re the best ❤️
Omg thank you so much!😱I’ve been trying soo hard to understand patterns and looking for a video that actually makes sense. You helped so much🤗thank you for everything!!!❤️
I watched alot of tutorials on how to read these patterns. And I never understand a single one of them. This one is the first I understand!! Very helpfull
thank you so much for this! i could never understand patterns before but you explain it so in-depth and i was able to catch on within 5 minutes into the video
This is very helpful! Thank you! One question- what do you do when you reach the end of the pattern on the paper? At the end of the video only a small bit of bracelet was done but you had completed the instructions. The strings aren’t in the same order as they were in the beginning, so now what?
okay so for some reason this video was really easy for me to understand because I love making bracelets and I have to watch youtube videos on how to make the bracelets, but then I found out about braceletbook I was like "wait, how do you read this tho?" but this was soo easy thanks kinsey ily!
it depends! some patterns won't make it so your strings will end up in the same way, because you're just repeating the same knots. but, most patterns should end up with your strings in the same order. the one in the video, your strings should not be in the same order.
Ok please help me get it so you know how when you do a chevron you go like diagonally, why don't you do that for this pattern and if you do how do you read that on the pattern. Hopefully that made sense
chevron bracelets are an example of what's called segment knotting! in normal patterns, you go row by row, but with segment knotting, you do the knots in 'segments', hence the name. like a chevron bracelet is technically a normal pattern and it can be done row by row, but it's easier/makes more sense to do it in segments :) hope this helps!
if you just need one string of a color, you would just cut half a wingspan! the only reason you cut a full wingspan of a string is because you end up folding it in half, and it becomes 'two' strings!
I don’t know if this will make sense but , when you get to the end of the last row and the pattern stops can you just repeat the same knots to make a longer bracelet? Hope this makes sense
what do you do with the strings if it calls for one string of a different color than the rest. and how would you knot it? because yesterday i tried a pattern but the bracelet became smaller than the picture and i was confused because i don’t know if i knotted it right.
how do you finish the bracelet? cause when the pattern is done its more of the bracelet to do, how do you know what knot to do? hope you understand ahah i didnt really know how to explain it:)❤️❤️love you❤️❤️
if you go through the entire pattern, then you just repeat from step one and keep doing the pattern over and over again until the bracelet is long enough. is that what you mean?
Heya Kinsey! Sorry for commenting on a literal 4 year old video but are 1,2 bracelets the same as "Normal" bracelets? Ive seen another video of a pattern like one of these but they said if you do it row by row it's real hard and what not. So it kinda just confused me haha
you can 'segment knot' normal patterns, or do them row by row. so that's probably what the video meant? a chevron is and example of segment knotting. there is a way to do it row by row, but the 'easier' way is to segment knot !
I love how you explain every little detail!
This is literally the only video on how to read patterns that I understand
💗💗💗
Same!
me too she explains the patterns very clearly i had tried to learn to read patterns for the last 6 months until i found her video and understood it the first time i watched her video thanks ever so much for kinsey b

you made this soooo easy for me , every video has been so confusing, but you made it seem so simple ! tysm !💗💋
Thank you thank you thank you !! I’m old as hell trying to make these things to keep me busy and I could not figure the patterns out to save my life lol. You’re the best ❤️
what do u do after you finish the page
I think you just do the pattern again starting at the top
that means you repeat it
aireana mogan do you have to rearrange the strands too?
Gary The Life Squirrel nope
Yareli L ok
Ahhhh I get it now!!!! I’ve been making friendship bracelets but have never learnt how to read it like this! Very helpful 💜🧡💛💙
Omg thank you so much!😱I’ve been trying soo hard to understand patterns and looking for a video that actually makes sense. You helped so much🤗thank you for everything!!!❤️
i always got frustrated while looking at friendship bracelet patterns....this is soo helpful...thank you very much ❤️🤧
You do such a great job of explaining the steps! I am just discovering bracelet patterns and after watching your video I understand how to read them!
I watched alot of tutorials on how to read these patterns. And I never understand a single one of them. This one is the first I understand!! Very helpfull
yay!!!
thank you so much for this! i could never understand patterns before but you explain it so in-depth and i was able to catch on within 5 minutes into the video
Yes absolutely .this is only one channel where I can understand pattern very easy . thank you so much 🙏💞
This is very helpful! Thank you! One question- what do you do when you reach the end of the pattern on the paper? At the end of the video only a small bit of bracelet was done but you had completed the instructions. The strings aren’t in the same order as they were in the beginning, so now what?
Just repeat! do the same steps you did but with the colors you ended up with.
@@oceloots thanks
your hair is so pretty! i love the purple
thank you!!
agh kinsey is back with more helpful tutorials-
illllyyy💗💗💗
i love your channel. your so helpful and explain it really well. 🦋💙
thank you 💗
Oh my goodness thanx!!!!! I’ve looked for good tutorials, and
I totally understand this for the first time!!!
This is the best one out there! All the others are so confusing. Thank you!
This is the only tutorial that’s actually made sense to me, so thank you so, so much! Also, you’re really pretty :)
thank you 💞💞
kinsey b no problem :)
This is the most helpful video on patterns I’ve ever found!!
thank you 💗💗!!
so when we finish the rows we will start the pattern again ? but how can we start again when the end of the rows is different col of strings
okay so for some reason this video was really easy for me to understand because I love making bracelets and I have to watch youtube videos on how to make the bracelets, but then I found out about braceletbook I was like "wait, how do you read this tho?" but this was soo easy thanks kinsey ily!
I came here from tik tok!!!
ok I’m literally sooo so happy you explain it super in depth and I totally understand now!!! Thank youuuu!!!
You’re the only person I can understand and follow along
What do i do after i finish the pattern when it doesn't end in the starting string order?
then you probably messed up your knots somewhere during the bracelet :/ you'll probably have to remake it
@@kinseyb7017 no there are some patterns that end that way before like the pattern itself
@Reem Farag you will repeat the pattern but the colours will just be in different places.
@@reemfarag5356 *
Just knot it and finish it with a braid and if you have enough string keep going and your strings may go back to normal( you don’t have to redo it:)
you have no idea how helpful this was. tysm
awh i never noticed u had purple hair. i love it!
awe thank you (:
thanks for the video it was so helpful!! what is the pattern of the pink and green bracelet on the cover?
it's an arrowhead!
Wow 😯 u Literally have the best printer in the world because it prints really good
Tysm for the like and if u remember me Ty remember me little things in life make u happy like u
i’m not sure if you mentioned this, but when you finish your row, do you just repeat it from the start
Loved and understood this! I have 2 questions
1. Is it necessary to print it out?
2. How do you know if its a 1,2 pattern
Oops ignore question 1. Im sorry
Once you get to the last row do you jus start over??
Edit: nevermind I found out
Princess Kendall so what’s the answer ?
So when you finish and you return to row 1 again, you rearrange the strings according to their arrangement in row 1?
it depends! some patterns won't make it so your strings will end up in the same way, because you're just repeating the same knots. but, most patterns should end up with your strings in the same order. the one in the video, your strings should not be in the same order.
So when they're not in the same order what should I do?
just continue the pattern anyways, and see if it still works. if not then you probably did something wrong :/
i just learned to read normal patterns and i feel like the possibilities are endless
YES
i always found these really easy, but i could never read and still cant read the alpha ones. im gonna go watch your video rn
want to say thanks for the links helped me out alot because I need more looks!
Ok please help me get it so you know how when you do a chevron you go like diagonally, why don't you do that for this pattern and if you do how do you read that on the pattern.
Hopefully that made sense

Thxs
If you had time would you ever make a segment knots video?
It makes me feel a lot better to know you have the same name as me and spelt the exact same way! 😂❤
After you finish doing all of what is says on the paper do you just keep doing that until your done with your bracelet?
yes!
I understand it, but mine is all bunched up.. am I pulling too tight ?
Thank you so much! I understand. Oh, i love your voice, so soft
If I show you one I found on Pinterest, would you do a video on how to follow that pattern?
if i did all rows i have to do the first again?
this the only video that helped me... thank you!!!!!
once you finish the entire pattern like you showed do you just start back from the beginning?
yes!!
how do you recognize if it is segment knotting or a 1,2 pattern?
How do you know when the strings are and aren't left out?
every other row :) start with them in on the first row, then the second row they're left out, and so on
kinsey b thanks!!! i appreciate the reply, especially so quickly after i asked :))))
You can also tell when the outer string is pointed out
GRUCE DEZWUUN thanks as well!!!
Thank you! I have been trying to figure this out and you really helped!
for the ones that only say forwards knot is it one knot or two?
two!
when you finish the paper do you rearrange the strings to be back in the a-b-c order and just restart the paper
usually your strings will go back to the proper order but sometimes they don't, so just always restart the paper!
hi kinsey!! what if u only need 1 string per color? do i still cut them each at a wingspan’s length or can i cut them half of a wingspan? thanks! 🤍
if you just need one string of a color, you would just cut half a wingspan! the only reason you cut a full wingspan of a string is because you end up folding it in half, and it becomes 'two' strings!
@@kinseyb7017 thanks a lot kinsey!! u r actually the reason why i started the hobby of making friendship bracelets 🤍 love you!!
So what do you do if the arrows point to side like ➡️ or ⬅️
First video I understand. Thank you!!
this is the only pattern reading video i understand 😂💗
After you finish the last row on the pattern do you start again from the first row?
yes!
wait after you do it once, do you do the whole thing again ??
yes!
This is seriously so helpful!!☺️
you should do a multicolor alpha pattern i would like to see how you do them nice video by the way! ❤️
yes i will be doing that next!
Do you then repeat the pattern ???
But thanks this rlly helped
yes!
kinsey b thanks so much this video really helped and has helped me to be able to make so many more bracelets I’ve wanted to
I don’t know if this will make sense but , when you get to the end of the last row and the pattern stops can you just repeat the same knots to make a longer bracelet? Hope this makes sense
yes ofc!
when your done with the last row on the page do you start it over
You did at the forward and backwards knot it twice. Is that with every bracelet or just some of them ??
you always do the forward & backward knots twice!
what do you do with the strings if it calls for one string of a different color than the rest. and how would you knot it? because yesterday i tried a pattern but the bracelet became smaller than the picture and i was confused because i don’t know if i knotted it right.
you would cut the one string the length of your longer strings folded in half
It's been a while since I've made bracelets lol but what is the difference between 1,2 patterns and 1,2 1,2 patterns? ❤️
they're the same!!
@@kinseyb7017 oh ok ty!
Hi I understand the knots but when I’m done with the bracelet it has holes and I pull really tight
it's okay, that's going to happen when you first start, but as you make them more you'll get used to the motions and they'll turn out better :)
This really helped !
i always saw these but i never knew how to read them so thanks!
you're welcome!
how do you finish the bracelet? cause when the pattern is done its more of the bracelet to do, how do you know what knot to do? hope you understand ahah i didnt really know how to explain it:)❤️❤️love you❤️❤️
if you go through the entire pattern, then you just repeat from step one and keep doing the pattern over and over again until the bracelet is long enough. is that what you mean?
kinsey b yes that’s what i meant! thank you ahah love you❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much ❤️
Every other tutorial I’ve watched makes zero sense
Oh my word this helped so much !! 🦋✨💕
Omg! Thank you soooo much! This is so much more understanding now👍😂
Thanks,I understand now. 👍
This is a great tutorial thank you SO much!
What if you have 3 strings for a certain color? how many strings do you cut for the bracelet for that color?
Bella Gappa you should cut one string a wingspans length and the other string a wingspans length folded
thank you sooo much! you explained this so so well!
wow this was the only one that made me understand
Heya Kinsey! Sorry for commenting on a literal 4 year old video but are 1,2 bracelets the same as "Normal" bracelets? Ive seen another video of a pattern like one of these but they said if you do it row by row it's real hard and what not. So it kinda just confused me haha

Okay, I’m kinda stupid but on the first row is it normal for the knots to not be connected until the second row?
you're not stupid! and yes that's correct
@@kinseyb7017 THANK YOU!!!!!!
What type is the type where the strings overlap?
And don’t have knots they are just strings?
Do you have the layout for how to make a wave bracelet? Like the sheet of the knots?
you can find it on google images :)
0:50
a personal time stamp pls don’t mind ty!! 🫣
are all bracelets on bracelet book 1,2 patterns?
I need the other side of the bracelet
how long do the strings usually have to be?
really helpful thanks!
I'm watching this one year later but nvmm hahah
tysm, you have explained that perfectly! ❤
does the pattern start over at the end just with the colors in a different order? it’s hard to explain but um yeah i hope you understand
it depends on the bracelet! most of them do, but i know the arrowhead pattern doesn't
sorry omg i meant most of the patterns will end with your strings in the exact order you started with, but some don't, like the arrowhead 😂
i love you videos!
Thank you so much!I needed this!♡
What you said that the black strings get left out I literally said "that's so sad" idk why
which pattern is this??
