Can you please help me out and let me know approximately how long to make the base strings, cuz I don't want to make them really long and waste a bunch of thread
Alivia Kinkin make them however long the bracelet itself is going to be. Try the length of your arm! It seems like a bit much, but it gives you room for ties, and if you should make a mistake that causes you to cut your strings. Actually, I started an alpha last night, and had to undo it twice. Then when I started again, my leading string broke. Thankfully, I made it arm-length, and cut it off. I still have room! Just to be clear, do the length of ONE arm, not both. Sorry it’s long, but hope it helps!
Dipper Pines sorry i just realized i meant to say “i think i’ll stick to diagonal stripes.” i cant do chevron either even tho it’s just like stripes hahaha
Masha Knots I do not understand whatsoever, in fact this video made me even more confused.. you hardly explained how to start the bracelet and just skipped ahead as if I’m just supposed to know what to do.
Masha Knots I do not understand whatsoever, in fact this video made me even more confused.. you hardly explained how to start the bracelet and just skipped ahead as if I’m just supposed to know what to do.
jess well the video is made for people who are more advanced, who knows what their are doing and also this is a video about how to read alpha bracelets not how to start the bracelet. I suggest looking at her other videos for example, how to start a bracelet. Hope that make sense
There not supposed to exactly look "nice". I think what she was trying to get at was you can tell what pattern it is and it doesn't look particularly messy.
thank you so much. ive been making candy stripes and chevrons and i came across a cute cactus alpha pattern and had absolutely no clue what i was looking at.
I really wanted to learn how to make alpha one. all the other vids are really small and don't have as much info. BUT this one is the BEST! I really appreciate how long it took to make this!! thank you!
I've always been intimidated by alpha bracelets mainly because I don't want to use to much thread at once for the background or whatever it is in the pattern. Lots of beautiful patterns like this one require double-digit rows, and I just don't want to use so much 😅 I'm so cheap. However, I do want to give it a try. Thank you for making this video!
Oh I can totally relate! Honestly, despite the fact that I want the ties to be the same colour as the background, it still pains me to cut that much string just for the base :D And I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I am the exact same way! Not to brag about myself but I feel I’ve gotten the basic bracelets down pretty dang well. Ive always wanted to try an alpha pattern but the amount of string is crazy and I don’t want to waste it.
Suzie Marie I bought 12 colors of string from Michaels for almost $7, then went to a thrift store to look for some shirts, and found a whole box of embroidery thread (I would say there's over 50 bundles) for $1.48. definitely check out thrift stores, there was even more that I didn't even look at.
True, where i am, i can get a small clear box of embroidery thread for 5 $ and a HUGE box with beads and a few extras for like, 25$ and my dollar stores tend to have small and medium sized canvases for 1$ for 5 small to 3.50 for 1 medium. Plus, i could always silently leave it at my city’s art gallery once i’m finished. ;) i do it for the rebellious art life, rather than for funds lol
If any fellow Germans are watching this and don't know what kind of thread it is or how it is called in german, she uses PERLGARN. I use it too all the time. Hope I could help someone^^
oh my god, I need to try that!! i recently bought a pack of 100 thread colors and some colors arent really aesthetically pleasing to look at for me, so I could use these for a base

I know you read this a lot in the past but howhever....thank you!! This is the best alpha tutorial I found in all the internet ✨ I just start whit this thing of friendhip bracelets and keychains and you are really helpfully 💓
I've been making normal patterns for 6 months now and always wanted to try alphas but felt hesitant and lost. Thank you so much for the great explanation, you made it seem pretty easy and now I can't wait till my exams are over so I can try this :-)
i’m super late to seeing this video, but i have to say that this is quite possibly the easiest tutorial explaining alpha bracelets. it’s super well explained! thank you so much i feel like i can actually make better bracelets now!!
Love the vids on friendship bracelets please make more. Like a knotted rope over cords to enforce them much like ur wrap one but with a knot that circles to the cord
This made these patterns so much easier to follow I was looking at a cute rose one and the way it had the colors stretched behind them confused me but this made me realize that’s showing where they are when not used between points where they are
Awesome video! I had learned how to do alphas from a different video, but you explained it much more understandable. One thing I did notice you do differently is when I was taught, it said when you change color, you take your current weaving string and group it with your next string, and tie a knot onto both strings as if it was one. You don't seem to do that,do you know if that is that a a technique for certain kinds of alphas? Or just an extra step that I don't need lol. It doesn't seem to effect the bracelet at all from what I can tell though. ^_^ Thanks!
@@Astra_Vulpes Thanks! I have heard that there are different ways of changing the srting but I've never heard of this specific one. Sounds like it would work totally fine though so do whichever one you prefer :)
Thank you! Letters usually follow alpha patterns just like the ones here. You can find a bunch of patterns online. There are a few extra steps however so I might make a separate video on it
I am from Germany, my english is not perfect, sorry 😇 I create friendship bracelets for years, but I wanted to try these beautiful Alpha Patterns. This tutorial is really great and easy to rework!! Thank you for it 😃🍀
I‘m still learning how to do these and concentrating is so much harder 😅 One thing that helps me is taping the new string you need to weave in on the top next to the start of your bracelet.
You explained this perfectly. Im currently working on pattern #38672 on bracelet book. The first time I did it and it did not turn out well. Now that I watch this tutorial its making so much more sense!
Oh my god! I had no idea that you put a base for the alpha pattern! I feel like it isnt super clear in those patterns :( Thank you so much. I had no idea why the gradient pattern didn't come out as on the example!
I just finished the Star Burst from your other tutorial, so I decided to start on alpha, this was such an awesome tutorial, and really helped me understand the patterns I was seeing.💕💕👍🏼👍🏼

WOW. So detailed; in a way I almost feel by watching this video that Alphas may be easier to read than Normal patterns. But is that because I am a beginner?
I'm confused on the measuring portion of the video, so I would measure a little for the ties, then double it because the ties would be on both sides. But then add more? In my mind it would be super long but then her bracelet looks shorter than I imagine, i am confusion
