@@yanlopesteixeira money, the low reach produced by the algorithm push creators to pay for avertising. And that's pretty much it.
Man, to be honest, I loathe Instagram for all the reasons you mentioned. It becomes a game on how you can trick extra people into engaging. And I want a platform where ALL the people who follow me see what I post. I’m going to have to give Twitter a real go.

BONUS TIP: Treat your Twitter profile with care and only tweet, retweet, and like stuff that helps Twitter know what type of account you are!
I think that it's interesting that you use Twitter like this! One thing that gets tricky is the ability to dip into politics or other polarizing things.
If your going to treat your Twitter account with care for photography, which is a good way of doing it, why not just get a separate Twitter account then. One Twitter for Photography and a 2nd Twitter for general use?

Same here. I just started getting more exposure with out this twitter method. Almost getting 300 likes per post on Instagram with only 400 followers, now 495.

What do you think about Reddit? I think it's one of the most powerful social media platform for people who are not at all established and are totally new to the field.
I agree reddit is super powerful! However it’s a little more difficult to just jump on reddit and begin showcasing your work in comparison to twitter! Thanks for the comment and for watching!

@@RanftEvan also reddit can be super difficult about who and where to share to. r/pics can be a good one for general posts because there are so many eyes on it. Yet that can be a con in itself because of how many people are posting. Then the idea could be to share on more niche subreddits. But these can have their own quirks where the community can be real gatekeepers. One time I actually posted my photo of a bus in Atlanta Georgia (which @EvanRanft shared in his video last month because he's a badass ruclips.net/video/C93IWLpbnmA/видео.html ) to r/atlanta and it got blasted because i used the term "downtown" in the header instead of "midtown" which is a minor difference in location but people killed me for it lol... Point being choose the sub that fits your work best. I have certainly had good luck in other subs with photos Ive shared.
I started reddit 2 weeks ago and I posted a photo I snapped last week behind a frozen waterfall and it gained 28,000 upvotes. Now how would I capitalize on that? I got about 2.5k views on my video at that frozen waterfall through reddit.

Aris Sfakianos you have to be really active on Twitter. What I’ve learn is that you have to be interactive with your followers. That makes the app more enjoyable un my opinion. Which will lead to an increase of follows.

It really is and it’s not a ton of extra work for a maximum potential gain. Just takes some strategy to get started!

Literally never thought about Twitter being the best way to spread information. It makes perfect sense. There isn't an algorithm that you need to try and crack. It's the most straightforward platform.

I've heard of this TikTok app.... but haven't tried it cuz all I see is these kids doing really stupid videos... which instantly turned me off! Please elaborate on why TikTok, is good for content creators.
Love the idea of using Twitter to grow your photography following, instead of only IG. I had grown my Twitter to over 25k and let it fade. Since I just changed my Twitter handle to my name and starting to get into not only photography but also the gear, I’m going to try these techniques. Thanks 🙏
I actually disabled my Instagram because it was making me depressed haha. I been using Twitter and I find it just better to share my work. Yeah they may not get liked as much or get as much reach but for some reason it doesn't bother me on Twitter. I just feel its more laid back and you can get away with sharing a variety of different kinds of works, including experimental work that no one will like on instagram.

I was so tired from social media.
Same, gave up on Facebook like months go cause it got too depressing, might drop Instagram as well cause of loss in post quality.
Considering this post was 3 years ago… and with everything going on with Twitter would you say that this advice is still viable?

Really good ideas! I'd all but written twitter off. I was an early adopter when it first came out, but eventually I lost interest, especially once all of our mothers and the news outlets had it. I'm going to try to expand using this approach because my IG growth has started to stagnate using the most common methods for organic growth. Thanks!

my issue with twitter is the flock of millions of nft arts that are overwhelming organic photos
That s why all of those nft photographer youtubers are making these type of videos. They invite their youtube and instagram followers to twitter to follow them. Strategy is growing more in twitter which is main marketing place for nft and making more sales.

I think the problem with instagram is the fact it's almost in possible to get your account back if you get hacked like me so yea I'm never going back to instagram I'm looking for a new and better platform to do photography on

I have been using Twitter to share my work since I started taking photographs a few years ago. Haven't really been tapped into any sort of photography community there, however.

tbh... because of social media i almost stopped pursuing photography and cinema. But after meeting a lot of skilled people who doesnt have much followers and likes, it pushed me to just ignore it and just do it. (kinda like ignore that you aint getting likes but instead just keep posting)
