As much as I enjoy receiving more content for games I enjoy throughout their lifecycle, I feel like the live-service model has let publishers get lazy. It's really old that you're handed a half-baked game and you're just supposed to wait 1-2 years for them to fix it and add the rest of the content that was promised. Granted, games are much larger now, but there was a time when the devs had to get it right the first time, there were no updates after release. And of course, if your game is online-only, why can your servers not handle it? It's 2024 and this is not a title with millions of concurrent players.
Unfortunately games are MUCH LARGER now. Even mobile games are more complicated than games from the PS1 era that took a year to make. Games are now SO LARGE that companies are no longer willing to take risks that can result in 10 years of wasted effort and 100 million down the drain. A single AAA game not doing well can now permanently cripple a company. Live Service model is the "mutation" that happens in such as environment, it allows them to release the game earlier, and it opens up post launch monetization. Not saying it's good, its just a natural progression of how big they have to make their games now.
Someone needs to make a passive GTA online that is car customization focused, is mainly about exploring the map in your dream car and pulling into your dream garage, meeting up with friends, drifting around together, going off-road together and drag racing together, maybe throw in some extra XP for doing things as a group
The social element was always the big draw of TDU for me. Just driving about with other people on the island and sometimes going gambling or walking around other people's cars before an event starts. Also organising my garages with specific cars in was always really cool too. Bring it all back.
The servers are still quite unreliable, I play it on PS5, and I kid you not, I got disconnected as I crossed the finish line of an endurance race. 20 Minutes wasted all for nothing. It's actually the 2nd time I attempted this race, the first time I got kicked out of it 75% into it, and that was 2 weeks prior to my 2nd try. My frustration with that TDUSC is out of this world.
BlackPanthaa kinda cooked on this one. The good moments in the game are fleeting… I got on for the first time in a month yesterday and played for two hours and was connected with ONE other player the entire time and never once saw them…
My issue is lack of depth behind the races. Give me back championships and main rivals to beat the shit out of and take their cars. Then add the houses and proper feckin dealerships. Basically take TDU2, repackage it and I’ll be happy 😂
It just sounds like, from everyones complaints, the devs never played TDU or TDU2 and if they have, they didnt understand what made those games so likeable.
That’s very likely seeing as the last one came out in 2013. That seems to be a problem with a lot of games nowadays. Made by people that either: A) Think they know better so they do what they want and not what the fans want. B) Don’t know about it at all and blindly do what they think it’s about. Ultimately, both come down to ignorance. Intentional or otherwise.
They should make special trims of cars. Billionaires love having "the only one like this" kind of car. Allowing players to create unique specs that can't be replicated and an auction house system could help.
Having never played the game here are things i think they could do straight away Boosted payouts/Cheaper Cars Coop Races against ai Selling cars with maybe an evaluation tool Seeing your character in hub environments and even the photomode Offline patch
Yo that Ikea idea deserves more attention! They need to focus less on the 'racing' and more of the 'driving'. Make cruising and finding cool new things and scenarios more varied and fun. The handling and car functionality like indicators, wipers, spoilers and roof control, there are so many things they could do to utilise these features.
Doing "server maintenance" with record low player count and being able to sesion with region players only. Makes me 100% convinced that they were either scammed by the contractors for the servers or they pocketed the money saved from running the entire network from Raspberry Pi, for themselves.
They still need to add a difficulty option. Let the players deciede how easy or how difficult they want the game to be. They also need to alter the payouts and cost of vehicles.
I had over 100 million in TDU2 n in TDUSC 49 different cars n over 30 million money . 280 clothes , heaps of after market wheels . And some awesome stickers . League season complete n WAITING FOR REWARD END OF SEASON...
so they wont be making an offline mode? I will buy if so. Also I know you talked about the CREW MOTORFEST offline mode but I havent seen an update for that yet, does anyone here know when that will come out?
Personally, I don't agree that they're thinking about anything that the fans want. I think they're just saying they are to make us stick around after the utterly abysmal launch...
It is & u can blame every dev along with those two bait & switch scammers & AlexVll are fully responsible for this purposely bait & switch DOA game that now permanently destroyed ANY chance of the franchise coming back now. Also there's a rumor that Ibiza "map" expansion will be delayed into next year to make everyone forget this DOA game exists & the devs taking whatever money they scam & bail by now
Just checked concurrent players and a estimated 169 people are playing the game. Likelihood of playing with others is extremely low, there is almost 0 reason to have an online function if no one is utilizing it - give us an offline patch!
The really wish the "eye-view" from inside the car would turn towards the direction you're turning while driving like how adaptive headlights turn when you turn, i dont understand why car games arent doing this detail. Because i love the realism view from inside but you cant see very well.
Nowadays' trend. Developers> "Let's give a damn half finished game and then we'll fix it later with patches". NO dear Developers! NO because you equally take our money..!
Completly agree must be a real mmorpg with a real story, cinematics, championship per cars categories with licences, real estate, clothes stores and of course the casino.
Imagine being able to have a car meet, have people around the environment and checking out cars with each other, reacting with voice chat... How dope would that be?!
Still pushing for online events and activities even after the disastrous official release, which was a direct result of the BS online servers and so on, is absurd. Pouring more into offline features in general for players to engage with would be better
This games problem is its trying to be an NFS/Forza clone which is not what the fans wanted. TDU is different and this game should have followed what TDU was all about
Question for the community: I just got Solar Crown yesterday. I play it on a new XBOX Series S. During one of the races, the XBOX got pretty hot. Is this game known to be really resource heavy?
Let this game survive and make the events available offline to play and adjustable difficulty They should NOT allow to meet the same fate as The crew 1
You're saying so many things that I think all the fans have been saying or feeling about this game. I wish it felt worthwhile to keep playing Solar Crown but it leaves so much to be desired 😢I replayed TDU2 before the release and it still holds up so much better (despite the laughable characters) I wish they were able to give the people more of what we want and have been publicly asking for...
If they want to save the game for me, they have to: - Release the new map as expected in December or January for polishing. I don’t mind if it's delayed by a month; make sure it's ready. - Forget the clan wars update and push it to Year 2, Season 2 at least. - Replace it by adding solo play to the game or at least make a minimum of 50% of it playable solo, and add cross-play and cross-server (with the option to disable them). - Release the casino update with at least 75% of playable solo. - The first release of Year 2 has to be housing and 100% solo playable. - Stop pushing as hard on pvp Every update should include small additions like, for example, making the map (GPS) work on the dashboard in the car, like in TDU2. Improve the game’s performance, fix bugs, and release monthly updates to show the game is active. Add more small animations, like when washing or repairing the car (I miss the car wash and the funny car wash girl when the car was a convertible). Add more detailed camera options, like having different dashboard skins that match the car, like in TDU2, and make the dashboard and part of the HUD disappear in first-person view. I think this would be a good start for making Year 2 possible, and we can even dream of a Year 3. I’d also like to see a system where we don’t have infinite car garage space, like in TDU2.
You are absolutely right.secondly they need to increase the amount of money on a race.the cars are extremely expensive more then the cars in real life.
While you're not wrong, just think of how bad the Aspyr SW Battlefront Classic launch was. They literally just had to copy and paste and I genuinely believe that was the worst launch ever, considerably worse than this. They did 2 or 3 updates to fix major problems and abandoned it, they stole modder code, they just screwed everything up. Even revamps are screwed up spectacularly now days
I can’t believe i spent my money and haven’t touched the game since a week after it was available. It’s just not what i expected and it’s hard to make progress.
Nothing has updated for like a month so youre seeing the same broken test drive. Hopefully the ps5 pro patch is atleast playable but its embarrassing the ammount of no communication.

Still haven't bought it
This was the first weekend I didn’t play TDUSC. I actually bought a G29 for this game.
I’m looking forward to Assetto across EVO now.
Someone needs to make a passive GTA online that is car customization focused, is mainly about exploring the map in your dream car and pulling into your dream garage, meeting up with friends, drifting around together, going off-road together and drag racing together, maybe throw in some extra XP for doing things as a group
Patiently waiting for the 75% discount on steam
not worth your time actually tbh
me waiting for 90, it will come for sure
Just by cyberpunk 2077 please thats actually a good game now has nothing to do with driving games i know but then you finnaly dont play shit games
In its current state, I wouldn't even get the game if it was on sale.
Patiently wait till they release offline mode so i can pirate it
The social element was always the big draw of TDU for me. Just driving about with other people on the island and sometimes going gambling or walking around other people's cars before an event starts. Also organising my garages with specific cars in was always really cool too. Bring it all back.
Solar Crown Already destroyed itself. Motorfests newest Update just stomps what was left of Solar Crown.
Game was over before it started 😂
The servers are still quite unreliable, I play it on PS5, and I kid you not, I got disconnected as I crossed the finish line of an endurance race. 20 Minutes wasted all for nothing. It's actually the 2nd time I attempted this race, the first time I got kicked out of it 75% into it, and that was 2 weeks prior to my 2nd try. My frustration with that TDUSC is out of this world.
New TDU need to have gta features like avatars, houses but with racing story and cutscene may sounds too simple but thats the idea
BlackPanthaa kinda cooked on this one. The good moments in the game are fleeting… I got on for the first time in a month yesterday and played for two hours and was connected with ONE other player the entire time and never once saw them…
You don't need server stability if there are no people playing.
Modern problems require modern solutions.
My issue is lack of depth behind the races. Give me back championships and main rivals to beat the shit out of and take their cars. Then add the houses and proper feckin dealerships. Basically take TDU2, repackage it and I’ll be happy 😂
In a game like this i should be able to drive up to my house and push a button that opens my gate or garage door and drive my car in and get out!
Online only is the worst decision ever and all these game devs instantly think of it by default like it's so dumb
It just sounds like, from everyones complaints, the devs never played TDU or TDU2 and if they have, they didnt understand what made those games so likeable.
That’s very likely seeing as the last one came out in 2013.
That seems to be a problem with a lot of games nowadays. Made by people that either:
A) Think they know better so they do what they want and not what the fans want.
I got my refund and never looked back, i’m just here to support Panthaa😂
I couldn't. Sadly
The compensation needs talking about a offroad kit for an old Porsche and 5 stickers ?!?!?
Having never played the game here are things i think they could do straight away
Boosted payouts/Cheaper Cars
Coop Races against ai
Selling cars with maybe an evaluation tool
Seeing your character in hub environments and even the photomode
Offline patch
this is need for speed heat with a new name.
Yo that Ikea idea deserves more attention! They need to focus less on the 'racing' and more of the 'driving'. Make cruising and finding cool new things and scenarios more varied and fun. The handling and car functionality like indicators, wipers, spoilers and roof control, there are so many things they could do to utilise these features.
i really waited over 10 years for this 😢
Where’s Alex 7 now??? That muppet naycon worker scammed his fans
His last vid is from 2 weeks ago lol where is he? 😂
@ exactly
No he didnt
Doing "server maintenance" with record low player count and being able to sesion with region players only. Makes me 100% convinced that they were either scammed by the contractors for the servers or they pocketed the money saved from running the entire network from Raspberry Pi, for themselves.
They still need to add a difficulty option. Let the players deciede how easy or how difficult they want the game to be. They also need to alter the payouts and cost of vehicles.
Why is it that Gran Turismo has a "story mode" and TDU doesn't?
Its been over since the day the game released
Also there's a rumor that Ibiza "map" expansion will be delayed into next year to make everyone forget this DOA game exists & the devs taking whatever money they scam & bail by now
I had this game on my steam wishlist for 4 years, only just found out that it released 2 months ago
I was thinking about buying this. Now I'll wait awhile for sure!
I honestly don't know a single person who bought this game
Why does rate 18+ on the cover though
Just checked concurrent players and a estimated 169 people are playing the game. Likelihood of playing with others is extremely low, there is almost 0 reason to have an online function if no one is utilizing it - give us an offline patch!
The really wish the "eye-view" from inside the car would turn towards the direction you're turning while driving like how adaptive headlights turn when you turn, i dont understand why car games arent doing this detail. Because i love the realism view from inside but you cant see very well.
Remember that BlackPanthaa is one of the first people to showcase the game.
We wanted it to succeed, but even more so for him. :(
Ngl pantha hyped this game up when it was still being created
As a Sharp, I laughed at you selecting to leave the Streets
The future is told this game will not survive even one years
Nowadays' trend. Developers> "Let's give a damn half finished game and then we'll fix it later with patches".
NO dear Developers! NO because you equally take our money..!
They could have remaked tdu2 and called it a day a massive graphical improvementent from the prior td2 game like how ea remaked nfs hot pursuit
It's over for me. I stopped playing a couple of weeks and bought The Crew Motorfest and The Crew 2. They are so much better.
Completly agree must be a real mmorpg with a real story, cinematics, championship per cars categories with licences, real estate, clothes stores and of course the casino.
Imagine being able to have a car meet, have people around the environment and checking out cars with each other, reacting with voice chat... How dope would that be?!
U don't get chat, only scripted responses like FH3.
Open chat mean PEGI 18
@ keyword: imagine. It’s simply what I wished :p
Ibiza just gonna be full of Sticker reward races
Not to mention only a small part of the island...
Very cool video black panthaa
Still pushing for online events and activities even after the disastrous official release, which was a direct result of the BS online servers and so on, is absurd. Pouring more into offline features in general for players to engage with would be better
kind of agree about improving the life sim
This games problem is its trying to be an NFS/Forza clone which is not what the fans wanted. TDU is different and this game should have followed what TDU was all about
They could've just remastered the old one tbh. Add new cars and map, use the new physics and voilla. Perfect game
Question for the community: I just got Solar Crown yesterday. I play it on a new XBOX Series S. During one of the races, the XBOX got pretty hot. Is this game known to be really resource heavy?
Let this game survive and make the events available offline to play and adjustable difficulty
They should NOT allow to meet the same fate as The crew 1
BlackPanthaa knows about Playstation Home!
time for 50% off and save up for a remake of TDU2
Two months Later, One day before update....
Oh wow, A game that was in development for almost a decade failed? What are the odds in that
I remember when he titled TDU2 as a rich knob simulator and now its just broken and as a fan of the series please bring the magic the games had back
You're saying so many things that I think all the fans have been saying or feeling about this game. I wish it felt worthwhile to keep playing Solar Crown but it leaves so much to be desired 😢I replayed TDU2 before the release and it still holds up so much better (despite the laughable characters) I wish they were able to give the people more of what we want and have been publicly asking for...
Two months already?!
If they want to save the game for me, they have to:
- Release the new map as expected in December or January for polishing.
- Stop pushing as hard on pvp
Every update should include small additions like, for example, making the map (GPS) work on the dashboard in the car, like in TDU2.
They can literally add non-racing missions (as in TDU2 and TDU1), and the game is automatically 10x as entertaining. Should be simple.
They just have to recall the game and refund everyone as the player base is dead and further plans won't success with this player base
I gave up all of my hopes for the game when I realized that the studio behind it is Kylotonn.
You are absolutely right.secondly they need to increase the amount of money on a race.the cars are extremely expensive more then the cars in real life.
They only had one job
Remake the first TDU and they still messed up
While you're not wrong, just think of how bad the Aspyr SW Battlefront Classic launch was. They literally just had to copy and paste and I genuinely believe that was the worst launch ever, considerably worse than this. They did 2 or 3 updates to fix major problems and abandoned it, they stole modder code, they just screwed everything up. Even revamps are screwed up spectacularly now days
I honestly might buy the game if all the dealerships where sorted by manufacturer and then designed after the real versions
I can't wait any longer for the new island in TCM
2 days left
i do enjoy motorfest i can even race against level 5 difficulty ai now once you get used to each car it just clicks btw put your dynamic max lock to 50 percent trust me the car is way more grounded and dosnt full lock on every turn even turning slowly feels much smoother it has transformed the experiance for me
Ik
