    Note that Emilia Fox also played Morgause in Merlin! She was on for more than half of the seasons and played a significant part in Morganna's character development!

    You could probably add a few more acting families. I thought you would have included the Mill’s. But with so much acting talent in Britain, you’d need much more time.
    Loving your series, always fun and interesting.

    Sir John Mills and his wife, Mary, were both actors. Their 2 daughters were Juliet and Hayley, and their son, Jonathan, were all actors. Juliet is now married to actor Maxwell Caulfield and her daughter, Melissa, from her 2nd marriage, is also an actor. Hayley was married to British actor Leigh Lawson and is now married to American-Indian actor Firdous Bamji. One of her sons, Crispian Mills, is lead singer of Kula Shaker. Quite a dynasty!

    Wow, recognized the McGanns but probably all this time I thought I was watching the same guy in all the different parts. They do look an awful lot alike. Wonder if Casting people get confused?? probably not.

    • @kwebst1
      @kwebst1 10 лет назад

      Thank you, Wonder what you would have to look for specifically in order to decide on one versus another. I imagine some would decide one was a better actor, but sheesh that would be hard to take if you were not the chosen one.

      It was during filming of the Sharpe series that Paul broke his leg and they ended up recasting the lead with Sean Bean
      From interviews I've heard, I don't think there was any confusion on the part of the people casting the Doctor Who movie, but Paul often makes that joke
      When I was looking up clips of Peter Capaldi right after he was announced as Twelve, one of the clips that came up was some TV movie about the Beatles...when they showed Lennon, I called out "That's a McGann! Not sure which one, but it's a McGann!…" (btw, it's Mark)

      Joe McGann is easily my favourite. I watched him in the sitcom *The Upper Hand,* the soap *Night and Day,* and the sketch show *Harry Enfield and Chums* among other shows where he made cameos like in *My Family,* *All Creatures Great and Small,* *Heartbeat,* *Merseybeat,* *Casualty,* etc as well as the film *Liverpool Nativity.* I didn't even know he had any brothers until last year when I was looking for old British comedies from the 1990's that I'd forgotten about.

  • @krezzybot
    @krezzybot 10 лет назад +33

    Are... are you sure those pictures of the McGann brothers aren't just four pictures of Paul McGann? They all look the same!

      +krezzybot My uncle was the former accountant of McGann Clones™ in 1968. Supposedly after it was found out how many UN human rights laws were being broken the company was liquidated and the subjects all given an arbitrary Christian name.

    There's also the Troughtons. Patrick Troughton (first TV Robin Hood and the 2nd Doctor in Doctor Who, was also in The Omen among other things), his sons David and Michael Troughton (who have both also appeared in Doctor Who - three times in David's case) and his grandsons Sam Troughton (Much in Robin Hood) and Michael Melling (best known as Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films)

    Yayness! Another one! Love it. With how small, and I say that respectively, Britain is, It's no wonder how diverse and brilliant these families are. Whereas here in the States we have so many actors that our acting families aren't as diverse, In fact the only three that come to mind for me are the Fondas, the Baldwins, and the Sheens (having to remember that Emilio Estaves is in fact a Sheen)

Eric Thompson who should be canonized for the Magic Roundabout (yes, the stop-motion is French but it's only funny because Eric messed about with it); his wife Phyllida Law, one of the great actors of her generation; the unfeasibly talented Sophie and the luminescent Emma.
