    She’s hated because of her attitude. I competed in the UFC from 2016-2023 and never reached her level of success in the organization. Imagine if Tom Brady won the Super Bowl and then treated everyone in the league he thought was below him poorly because of his achievement. The next year he loses, athletes no longer have to tolerate his ego, owners stop kissing up to him, and his spotlight fades. That’s exactly what it was like dealing with her. She was one of the biggest draws, and highest paid fighters in UFC history. You may not remember it now, but her fan base was massive. I loved how based she was when they asked her how she felt about the pro soccer women’s pay, and did she think it was unfair for them to make so much less than the men. They were hoping for her support, but she shut that down real quick. She’s been a winner her entire life. Champion at Multiple world competitions, the first American woman to win an Olympic medal,UFC Champion and highest paid female fighter. I brought up other athletes as an example of egotistical champions that are still love and respected. She is nether. All I’m saying. She talked about UFC more than this book she’s promoting. I wouldn’t be addressing anything if she was talking solely about a book. No hate here, I have no issue with the woman. But I also have eyes and saw the way she treated people, fellow fighters, and the sport. She hasn’t moved on mentally from her losses which is why she doesn’t address them. You can’t complain about disliking all the public scrutiny and also do nothing to repair it. In that case just lean into it. So many other athletes get backlash for their public actions. Why is it just her that has a huge issue with it? Tiger Woods got dragged through the mud when his private life became public. Ronda copium Rousey. I'm very surprised jake would have someone like her on. She lies about the reason why people hate her too. So for anyone who is not very aware who Ronda is or only knows her from WWE the reason she is hated is because she's disrespectful and egotistical. She said she stopped competing because she gave everything she had and her body couldn't take it anymore but that's a lie. She quit because she has an ego the size of a planet and couldn't handle the fact that she lost twice in a row to 2 different women who by the way made it look easy and embarrassed her. Also this is the same woman who was always disrespectful to her opponents before and after fighting them and said she would beat Mayweather in a fight.

    Yeah you might be boo’d coming back to the UFC but you’d be giving yourself a chance to undo your damaged reputation. Get to training and hard work will earn peoples respect. Stay out of the spotlight when it comes to fight build ups, a few good fight performances then bow out and retire happy.
    First women’s UFC Champion, very impressive and dominant champion for 4 years. You did the sport very proud and paved the way for women in the sport at that period in time. I remember back in the day when Ronda Rousey was fighting and we’d all guess how many seconds it would take you to lock in the arm bar and we’d stay up to watch just your 1 Round fights.
    You don’t have to become Champion again you’ve achieved it all in your prime. Fuck focusing at the highest level in MMA, having MMA gold and taking on title contenders who are masters of different fight styles.
    Come back as someone who is showcasing the art of Judo to the world. Who has their own life outside of UFC and has other priorities. Let your trainer pick fights that are best for you. Find your love for Judo within UFC again, fight for yourself not for the limelight and you’ll be fine!

Not sure if she was taught that or she just kinda learned it on her own but that's definetly not the kind of mindset a person should have.
    Maybe that's why she makes up excuses for her 2 losses and still can't admit Holly and Amanda were better fighters. Or at the very least they were the better fighters on that night. She just seem alike a really petty person.
    I know every time Holly punched her or when she kicked her in the head I felt like she deserved it for not being a good sportsman, for being a mean person and for not touching gloves with Holly.
    When she stood there staring at the ground as Holly's hand was raised I knew in that moment she got humbled. Also when the interviewer said she broke down doors for women to walk through forever. This ain't true. There was already women fighters and have been for a long time all she did was got Dana to bring them into the ufc. Permanently. I
    Other fighting organizations already had women fighters and champions. And props to her for getting Dana to do that but at the same time it would have eventually happened with or without Rhonda. It just happened sooner. But between her coach and sone others like Joe Rogan over complementing her and her coach lying to her about how good her striking and boxing was. Was some of the biggest reasons she eventually lost. Her striking didn't change at all in 4 years. It never got refined or any better. But being told she could beat Olympic champion female boxers. And could beat flux mayweather gave her over confidence in her ability's that were actually garbage When she hit pads and shadow boxed anyone could see her form was trash And she never knew how to throw a proper punch or job and in the end it cost her the championship and her belt and her career as she didn't know how to take a loss or bounce back from it.

    Regardless of how I feel about her persona, at one point she was the biggest superstar in the UFC, and whether people want to admit it or not: She's the reason (or at least she's a BIG reason) why women are fighting in the organization today. Ronda put female mma on the map, she paved the way for it to grow. But she was a mentally weak fighter which is why she couldn’t recover from those loses. She embraced the villain roll while winning but was shattered by one loss. Meisha Tate was a contemporary and lost her fights to Ronda but kept working and eventually became champion. Conor Mcgregor embraced the villain role won, lost came back and won moved into boxing lost made a ton of money came back won, lost and is still an icon in the sport. Ronda’s mental weakness is the issue here and you hear it all the excuses. She was never the Lioness and no matter what Amanda Nunez’s was coming. Stylistically holly holm was a tough fight and she fought it wrong and feared a rematch with the same outcome. She’s only further destroying any respect I once had for her and her abilities.

      You could certainly make the case that she was mentally weak. And you are more than entitled to lose respect for someone over that. But I don't think she deserves to be vilified for it industry-wide. Her crime was what exactly? Not speaking to reporters and retiring early?

    • @pierrecharles1317
      @pierrecharles1317 7 месяцев назад +8

      @@ckdaimen8028 Her crime is playing the victim. You can’t embrace the villain role, talk big shit while she was on top, then get crushed by Holly, make no attempt to avenge the loss; make no adjustments to her game. Get demolished by Amanda for the money then quit, but still wants to be considered the greatest female fighter ever. At the same time she didn’t want any smoke from the media after losing, while dishing it out the whole time when she was on top. Look at some of the disrespectful stuff between her and Meisha and some of her other opponents. I think the industry wide stiff is how much her actual personality rubbed people the wrong way. When you listen to her interviews it’s everybody else’s fault. Everybody else is mean and unfair. It’s every excuse in the world why she lost. That’s what I don’t have respect for. She a delusional self centered person and it comes through when she speaks. That said, I enjoyed rooting for Ronda and I know that MMA would not be as big without her. I think people like her, Mcgregor, Jon jones and others who embrace the villain role and are great make the sport excel. But you gotta take the ups with the downs and you gotta be able to overcome adversity and losses. All the greats do except her.

You're right that she had some criticism for her attitude and conduct, but things really took a turn after her loss to Holm because she didn't speak to the media. It was at that point the MMA media really piled on her for being a sore loser and poor sport and the fans followed suit. In reality, she was traumatized by losing. If she had just come right out and admitted that Holly Holm had Amanda Nunez were just better in their fights and admitted that wwe tried forced her onto the fans she might not be looked on so negatively today. When she first came to wwe in 2018 I predicted that within a year she would win either women's championship in wwe the fans would feel she was being forced on them and turn on her and that's exactly what happened. Now im not gonna blame some of the larger casual base especially girls who think that Ronda was" that great" since this is the only thing they were fed as dana white ensured the womens division was just the ronda show and effectively deleted almost every other women from the spotlight, the infamous"shes back " poster of the nunes fight showcases Ufc only promotes you if youre danas favourite , it reached its absurd heights when nunes was booed for existing, if i had a daughter i would show her many more female fighters to admire both in terms of skill and caracter , theres so many to choose, who had to overcome lifes hardships , bullying, mockery ,poverty and in this case victory and defeat , all things ronda avoided because everything had been handed to her for so long

    Part of me thinks that the only one who believes that "it wasn't enough" is her.
    I think most people would love to give her a standing ovation for how amazing of a fighter she has been. She was an inspiration to endless people, me included. I do think most would have loved to hear her recognize the loss, admit that eventually she got outclassed and then move on to enjoy her well deserved legacy. But that does not mean at all that every one forgot everything she has accomplished in the sport.
    Listening to this it really seems to me that still today admitting she just lost two matches is too much, she just prefers to not read any media or comment online because all she sees is the negativity, even if it's not all there is at all.

    Rhonda is a great Judoka. She did great in Judo. Trained by her Gold Olympian Judoka mother. Made a milestone in MMA. It's not easy to get a well rounded trainer. I believe her male trainer was green behind the ears. In MMA some stay for a while, some stay on top for a decade. You have to be in great shape and you have to train every day. Most competitors/fighters need several trainers. There's no know all, end-all in training. Most competitors struggle with ego issues. I know most people do. I don't think it justifies vilifying Rhonda. I think she was a great competitor, a great MMA fighter. I think no matter what she contributed and instead of vilifying her, we might be able to stand up and give her a standing ovation for the positive contributions she has made. Everyone has a story. There are just too many irrational MMA fanfare. They love you, they hate...move on irrational fanfare. She's human.
