    That's a very good looking airplane. It's amazing how far the foamies have come. Not only in the looks department, but in the stiffness and flying characteristics, very nice.

      They are beautiful models. Black Sheep Squadron was one of my favorite TV series when I was a kid.

    Have one that I crashed into a tree, luckily it’s still mainly intact and flyable. I actually think it looks better now because it looks damaged like it’s been through war.

      You'll love it. Probably one of the best flying warbirds. Good ground handling and in-air manners.

    Great review, I think FMS make really high quality products. Would have liked to see how the power plant held up with a full rack of fuel tanks. Thumbs up

    My most favourite plane, was also the first plane I made back when I was a kid, tissue and dope covered balsa was a blast, this one makes me want to buy it just because I love the corsair, that ESC on top of the battery is a concern but hey nothings perfect

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  8 месяцев назад

      It is an unusual location for an ESC. Over the long term I might look for some mounting options.

    Good stuff, nice flight review of this Corsair, John. The static amp pull was 52a 814 watts, as you know, it's less in flight. As FMS installs 80a esc in most of their 1400mm warbirds, I'd say that they are 6s capable, as a lot of people fly'em that way, though I don't know the motor specs. I hope to see you give that a whirl. Great video and info,
    AirHammer out!!

      Do you know how much they unload on average static v dynamic? I've measured it with in air logging a few times. It's about 12% on average. I have a radio system with current--thinking about using it on maidens so we can see first hand. It usually doesn't amount to too much of a difference though.

      @airhammer6203 8 месяцев назад

      @@RCVideoReviews I don't know on average, how much they unload in flight, lots of variables. 8 to 12% doesn't surprise me. I've seen it measured, in flight, with some of the spectrum radios n esc's. If you have a radio that can do it, it would be cool to see, knowing each aircraft is "different".
      I still wonder why FMS says the 1400mm warbirds are 4s. Then install such a large esc knowing people use 6s?

      I actually do have a device that can do it and I'm working with it right now. Mebbe....
      10% is probably a safe enough guestimate--especially if you bake in any overhead in your electrical design.

    Such a beautiful plane great Power to weight ratio and Corsair's definitely fly with a certain presence. I don't think I've seen another plane with that profile not a bad greasy landing great review. Take care

      Thanks. Yes, few models have the in-air presences of this classic. Later flights landing with flaps was even more smooch landings.

      It looks very under power. I suppose running 3s 4s would make it fly how it should. Corsair have lot of torque and speed originally. I'm talking about the real thing. But still this is top of my list to get. :) I been loving to much hk prices on their line up. But I'll get this probably a christmas gift to me lol.

      It's definitely kind of on the scale side of things vs the insane power we see on 3D planes and such. I personally love 300w/lb++ but it's really not need for the more scale flying this plane is meant for. If you want a barn burner though--by all means...
      I think the power is sufficient for what it is.

    Great plane and video. My 11y old son want to fly warbirds this corsair is his favorite. Do you have any advice about what is the most appropriate trainers that help him to develop the skill to fly a warbird? Thanks!!!

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hmmmmm.....
      In the air, Warbirds are fairly easy as long as you maintain some airspeed. It's the ground handling and heavy wing loading where they get tricky. So If you can find a tail dragger with a heavier wing loading, that's where I'd start. Maybe something along the lines of an Escapade MX.
