    Thank you for your catfishing tips. I am a bank fisherman born and raised. My first pole was the latter half of an old cane pole, I was too small to use the whole thing. Your flapper idea is pure genius and I can not wait to try it. I am currently living in the high altitudes of Colorado, but have a trip scheduled here shortly to return home to Georgia, and then on to my birthplace and where my love for fishing started, Tennessee. Thank you for your time and work.

    Hey RG you would be proud of me; I went fishing thee other day with my son Jacob, and the brand new reel he just bought, well we put it on a nice rod. Well anyway, we were trolling for walleyes and I wasn’t paying attention, casually holding my fishing rod looking off in the distance and a fish hit it so hard it jerked right out of my hands. I could see the rod being taken away so I had to do it, I dove right in after that sucker and I caught it and it was a 2 pound drum. So I finally matched your commitment to fishin that afternoon. It’s a good thing it was a lake. But hey what a memory with Jacob and I. Thanks for sharing all your awesome videos!

    Hey Richard love the videos man. I really enjoy watching your stuff because you will take the time to explain stuff to us not so experienced fellow fishermen . I do have a question for you and you have probably already explained this before but I have not seen it if so. As a fairly new boater I was wondering how you set up your boat in the current so easily. What I mean is do you float beyond your point and let out your anchor and let it just pull your boat into the current, because I noticed how still your boat sits and I usually have a lot of trouble with it wanting to turn side to side or spin. Thank you in advance for any response. Also would love to share a coke and fishing trip with you someday. Happy Fishing Sir.

    • @Hardwick0ne
      @Hardwick0ne Год назад

      If you are in a river with current, you need an anchor with a flap on it that will turn approximately 1/4 turn on the main anchor beam. That flap will actually dig into the bottom of the river and help hold your boat. It doesn't need to be very heavy, but the rope you are using needs to be long enough that when dropped into whatever depth you are fishing in it can run no less than 45 degrees from the bow of your boat. You might also tie a different color line on the opposite end of your anchor so that you are able to retrieve it backwards if the flap should get hung under something.
      If you are in calm water with no current, drop your front anchor and back to boat up until the anchor sets, at this time you will need a rear anchor to drop strait down into the water behind you and when it hits bottom, just tighten the rope up and tie it off.
      The rear anchor just needs to be heavy. Something as simple as a block will work.
      Also, when anchoring ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, tie your anchor line in the exact middle of the front of your boat. Tied On the sides, the tension of the rope will try to force your boat to turn away from your anchor.
      Pro safety tip: NEVER EVER for any reason DO NOT anchor the rear of your boat up river. Any river in the country with any current at all will eat your boat and sink you fast if your anchor sets in good with the current turning the rear of your vessel into a bulldozer blade.
