Just bought this printer and i love it! Prints out of the box within minutes. auto bed leveling, dual z axis rods, heated plate and a build enclosure. and all for a budget price, WOW!!!! And so much more.
but it only uses proprietary filament right? I want to buy it but what is holding me back is I cant load my own home made (recycled) filament in it? Can you use your own filament? If yes then it is perfect.
@@easemailboxes I suggest you try some other printer. Seems to me that there is a trading secret being shared between Monoprice and some of those who buy their products so only these people know how to print using their 3 - D printers so long as they buy them from Monoprice. If the theory is true it would be pointless for you to buy a Monoprice 3 - D printer, because you would not be given the secret to how to do it. If you can not print from it using a USB, if you can not print from it using a Wi - Fi connection or the cloud or your internet service provider, it means only those who know how to make it print know it and they are not sharing their knowledge with others. This theory is extremely weak right now, but if it is true it probably explains all the problems people had who tried to buy these printers and print from them while others had none. And interestingly the printer it is modelled after has exactly the same problem. A few users are unable to use the Flashforge Adventurer printer this printer was made after and its as if there is a print feature locking mechanism inside these printers which prevents them from printing and which prevents computers from recognizing them. My ball tells me Monoprice no longer has the luxury and the time to make great 3 - D printers. I am hoping I am wrong.
How does the "feeder mechanism" at 1:05 being right by the spool affect extrusion? Wouldnt there be a delay due to filament having the be pushed all the way thru the tube to the extruder, especially if the filament moves back and forth in its guide tube?
That's standard with any Bowden extruder (where the extruder and nozzle are separated by PTFE tubing), though the narrower the gap between filament and tube, the less chance of delay. If the gap is fine and there's a delay in extrusion, you can arrange it in your slicer software
Printed a large bolt and nut and did not fit together. I then printed a calibration cube that was 20x20 and it was a pretty good ways off. How do I fix that?
@@michaelgoodman8849 hey so yeah you heat up your nozzle with the machine and use those tiny thin metal needle looking things. When heated, you have to be careful, but you shove the needle up the nozzle carefully and slowly. It will help clear out the issue.
Hi. I am having an issue with installing flashprint. Bascically the setup gets stuck at registering modules and doesnt allow for a complete installation. Thanks for the help.
It´s one of the first USB free 3 - D printers out there until somebody manages to find out about it´s USB unit. The story goes it is a Flash Forge Adventurer 3 remake. Meaning you can only print with a cube and you can´t connect it with Cura since Cura connects with the Flash Forge Adventurer series. At least the printer does come with a cloud connectivity feature. Whether users can actually use the feature to connect with its cloud remains to be seen. It´s a 400 USD box which I haven´t been able to figure out how to properly use for months. That goes to show you how opposed its manufacturers were to using a USB to print images from it. My next logical step before the printer will probably be shelved, never to be used again is to order one which comes with its USB. If it does not come with it´s USB at all order a new one which does, until I can finally print from one.
Where can I get a replacement extruder nozzle in the US. I emailed Monoprice support, and they sent me a link for a company based in Australia. The cost for shipping the $34 dollar part was $40. I also asked Monoprice support about when I can expect them to carry the replacement part and there was no answer. I am very happy with the performance of the printer, but I am considering returning it and buying a different printer. Please advise.
great printer for personal use, unfortunately after about 4 months of use my nozzle is currently having issues and for some reason i cant get the nozzle out to fix it
BlueBerry Yes, use the application “PolarCloud” and then log in to your account using the printer. If you get an error saying the MCID is already registered, then do a factory reset and try again, if that doesn’t work, connect to WiFi, then do a firmware update. If you need any more help feel free to contact me!
BlueBerry any half kilogram spool should work, but I printed out an external spool holder and just feed it into the side. U can track my progress on my other channel, “J3DProjects”
My Screen froze on loading the seccond after the boot up chime played. Still stuck on loading after 80 resets, any ideas how to make this thing not a 400$ paperweight?
I think its a trading secret.Because I think Monoprice has given up on making any more 3 - D printers. They just don´t seem to know how to make it possible for them to successfully print the things people want them to. I had a Monoprice Voxel printer which I hoped one day could be used to print 3 - D objects to no avail. You cannot just hope and wait with a 3 - D printer to print your little boat. It either can print something or it cannot complete its job as requested by its owner. When I finally confronted reality and accepted the demise of Monoprice 3 - D printing, it was time to look elsewhere. Every time Monoprice tries to make another 3 - D printer its always the same problem. No one seems to know how to make them print from a single USB and no one seems to know how to make them print using Wi - Fi or even a cloud service. Will be trying to connect it to my internet service provider to see if that works. Other than that, I guess whereas Monoprice is concerned, it´s pretty much over for their 3 - D printing enterprice. It must have been hell of a fun for them while it lasted and especially for those who knew how to make their Monoprice printers print, but actually making one do so seems to be some kind of a trading secret. Those who know the trading secret are the ones who can print products using the Monoprice Voxel 3 - D printer. If this theory is true it would explain why some customers can use USBs to print images while others can not. That being said, we should focus our attention on real 3 - D printers now, which can actually print what people expect them of.We do not have time for ´trading secret´printers.
I need help. My Monoprice Voxel has an error code "Filament Error" but the extruder nozzle is not clogged and will just stop mid print. If anyone knows anything on the subject I would appreciate it. I haven't used my 3D printer since August because of this issue. It is November 27th now.
Bought this printer a couple of months ago. Turns out nobody knows which USB it uses. According to it´s manufacturer it relies on a 4 GB USB. Bought two. There was just no way to make it read an image from one to p rint.
It is very nice. Until it isn't. Then try to get support. The only free slicer that works with this printer, Flashprint-MP, just stopped working and Monoprice's response to my request for some guidance on the issue was met with a sales email. It is a nice printer, just add $150 to the purchase price because when the free program stops running, you have a $300 toaster that does not make toast.
Flashprint-MP is very sensitive to screen setup. If you closed it while using multiple monitors and the program was NOT on the main monitor when it was closed, then if you open it using only a single monitor, the program does not run properly. Close the app on the main monitor or always use multiple monitors.
And it doesn't take 1Kg reels either. Not that it is a problem, per se, but you don't find out until you have a reel that is too big! That bit of info should have been on the label.
No where on flashprint shows voxel. This is so BS... "Fixed. Flashprint is not same as MP Flashprint" ONLY DOWNLOAD MP FLASHPRINT FROM THEIR WEBSITE. Thankx.
Fixed. One thing is that, THERE IS NO VIDEOS ON THIS VOXEL. Anyways. Flashprint is not the same as MP Flashprint. Even though they are the same program. You are forced to download the program through their website and not the flashprint one. Anyways, aside from that detail, I got this working. Ive had this printer for about 3 weeks and FINALLY I WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE WIFI. Thanks for the video and I subed. Little but VERY helpfull my friend.

Is it compatible with third party filaments
So it says you can print 150mm x 150mm but the software won't let me go above 50mm. How do you go bigger?
be sure to select the correct printer in the program otherwise it will assume you have a smaller build plate then what you actually have.
Does this work with OctoPi?
what file can I use on this printer because I have an .stl file on my USB and it won´t read it.
Why is cura unable to connect to this printer over ethernet?
thanks for the video just fixed my friends voxel using this

Turns out there is literally a toggle for filament check in the interface. I turned it off and I am able to print now.
Where can I get extra plastic, the other ones on your website don't stick
Have you tried using a pva glue stick. A standard elmers white or purple glue stick on the buildplate will help you stick.
Have you tried raising the bed temp to 70c?
How come I can’t take out the nozzle?

As long as it’s one of the supported types, any filament should work!
