Thank for that update, I'd been wondering about the dog version of this type drug. Solensia works equally well in cats - especially 3 legged older kitties.

I've been trying to tell my canine loving friends about Librela, that it was coming and is now here. (Been following the trials on it, just like I did with Solensia in Europe etc etc... My cat has had arthritis since he was two years old.
I feel for the owners of dogs though as the cost is going to be more than for felines is most cases as it goes by weight. And each vet practice charges differently.
I initially had my cat on Adequan and it worked very well, but i knew Solensia was out there, waiting to be approved here.
We kept him on Adequan until it his pain progressed to the point we knew it was time, and just in time too, Solensia was finally here.
I use both for my cat as they work differently but can be used together and both are so safe!
We started with Adequan when my holistic vet retired and was no longer available for acupuncture and other alternative therapies, something he had went over with me.
Just wondering if this owner ever tried Adequan for their dog?

I'm tapering my senior kitty down from prednisolone, she has gabapentin too but has mobility issues and it makes her so unstable on her feet it's not a good option for her and creates unnecessary risk of injury. I want to try solensia either in place of or to reduce prednisolone but am so worried about the skin issues I've read about idk if that's worth the risk. She has developed symptoms of Cushing's from the prednisolone so her skin is vulnerable and she's she's part bald. But isn't able to scratch at herself much so maybe the skin issues isn't a huge risk for her. Idk might try solensia in a month or two but worry about pain management in the meantime while tapering prednisolone which we have to do so slowly since she's been on it since 2021 from my understanding. I used to give her subQ injections myself when she was using cartrophen vet before her spinal decompression surgery due to extrusion, idk if the vet we have now would allow me to give solensia on my own at home after a few doses.

My dog had devastating side effects within days of getting Librela. I would not recommend to anyone.

What side effects? My dog just had her 4th shot. I find that the first day or two after she gets her shot she loses a bit of coordination but we have had no other side effect and she is doing well.
