I like the term 'neuro-normative' - I've recently met other autists in a big group. And it was quite surprising to me, how much skill I've got in masking. And how it looked, when autists who aren't (capable of) masking that well. What you are describing is shockingly close to what I am experiencing/thinking about right now. Before that was the "shock" of how autists are appearing who are not masking/have no social skills at all... And it made me think quite a lot ^^
