One episode in and I am already extremely impressed by this game. Using no dialogue, they have told a story with a ton of character, and using the stage itself for environmental story telling with the other Robot Masters is brilliant. Not to mention the fact that the new Robot Masters look great and have a ton of personality just from their mug shots, so to speak. I'm very much looking forward to the rest of this playthrough, and, as always, more Roahm.

Not gonna lie, I really love that opening stage. It reminded me of the Megaman X intro stage where you learned all the base mechanics and gives you the story premise all in one smooth and cohesive pace. It's great storytelling and the people who worked on it did a fantastic job on this game, imo.
I feel like the makers of this game looked at all the other story-based fangames with all their text dumps and was like "What y'all are doing is fine, but I got one better."
The best sort of disclaimer that take the wind out of people who love nothing more then to spoiler the whole game in the part 1 comments, happens way more then you think, which is sad.

Its also super nostalgic. While it had not been the era of gaming I started with, but I always was incredible fond of NES/SNES Graphics and how the characters would strike poses or wink or shake their finger. I just love it. I love the cutscenes from this game already (because of this) soooo much.

3:19 Here is how to tell the difference between Vesper Woman and Honey Woman (who later became Hornet Man). You know how every Robot Master has boots (could be nust feet cause their Robots but you get the idea) of varying colors? Their boots is by far the most noticeable difference between the two. Honey Woman's boots are completely white. Vesper Woman's boots aren't.
I love that when Mega Man sees Roll and gets shocked she has been changed into a fighting robot, that Roll is just all pleased with herself and does a pose. The little bits of character they've given the animations that show up are pretty cool, and the way the level was designed- one part with the double jump in mind and one with the single jump extended by water physics- was really, really cool. I'm looking forward to seeing what other changes, if any, they apply to the levels based on which character you use, and hope it's not just "roll reaches higher up power ups and mega gets past the charge shot gates for power ups".
I love seeing Roll doing some platforming of her own during those Mega Man sections - she has a full level but you only play the interesting parts, basically. I like little immersion-driven touches like that; it wouldn't have been out of place for her to be completely absent until the final screen where she and Mega Man meet up, but the extra effort really adds a lot to it!
I'd be interested to see any Perfect Runs start back up again, TBH. It's been a hot minute, and despite us becoming an apocalyptic swarm of birds on Gamechamp's VG Myths on no hit Mega Man, I don't know precisely how many people even remember that he DOES those.

Hopefully the comments section won't just be a massive toxic cesspool towards the game for being a fan project like it's been for literally every other Mega Man fangame he's played blind! In all seriousness though, I've heard Rock n Roll is actually a really well designed fangame.
After what happened with the original MagMML, maybe they'll think before they act... (I usually prefer to outright stay out of it.) Let's just hope that our favourite gaming dragon didn't end up getting the wrong impression from this game. That kind of reception will never end well; it is by far the biggest problem any Blind Run can undergo.

Also it's kinda funny to me that rock is literally the only one who becomes rockman upon being outfitted for combat. Like protoman isn't called bluesman in japan lol. Regardless I truly love how story events happen without interrupting the gameplay as you play through the stage.

maybe this is just me, but i want a robotmaster named "gentle man" at some point, and he 'fights' by doing relatively harmless things, mostly damaging you through collateral... like holding the door open for other robots, letting animals perch on his finger, laying out his coat over puddles... stuff like that.

Framerate’s really smooth, the gimmicks and unique designs I’m liking so far (helps that this mystery enemy reminds me a lot of Dark Matter from Kirby with hints of Ra Moon). Curious to see what the weakness chain will be because there’s only a couple connections that seem obvious to me, and even then there’s no guarantee I’m right.
This game has tons of personality and great level design. You can tell the developer is not only a fan of Mega Man, but he also knows what makes it good as well. I do have my issues with the game (some of the difficulty is unbalanced), but the good outweighs the bad.
Gotta say, it's always refreshing when fangames recognise/respect other fangames that are 'good enough to be official releases' by treating them as canon. I suppose that's also why Vesper Woman is here - the comics' writing was worth that same kind of respect~

I absolutely love the concept for this, though I am a little disappointed that the boss of the intro stage wasn't a brainwashed Mega Man. It does make sense that he would've broken free of the control, but still. Fighting him would have been a great moment.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Mega Man games on the channel! This one seems like a different spin on Mega Man and Bass’s dynamic of two characters or maybe even like Mega Man Xtreme 2 of choosing which character goes to each stage and figures out who gets each weapon. I actually like the Fighting design for Roll in this game. It’s quickly growing, except there’s no ponytail. Should be interesting to see how the stages play out since the disclaimer said that the entire run has already been finished.
So the jist is that rock and roll both have different advantages which are easy to see Roll's advantages: Double Jump that can help with platforming, dodging boss attacks, finding secrets, and skipping enemies. Beat the bird can help with getting around stages Roll's Disadvantages: +1 Damage taken from everything making her double jump and slide very important. No charge shot meaning that bustering bosses like Reactor man is way harder. No Rush Jet Or Coil Megaman also has pros and cons Rock's Pros: Takes -1 damage from everything meaning bosses and enemies are slightly less threatening. A charged shot, helping you when you run out of ammo for special weapons, are going through stages, or fighting their first boss. Has rush coil and rush jet to help with platforming after 2 or 6 stages I think. Rock's Cons: No double jump meaning bosses like Drake man are harder to dodge. No beat the bird to carry megaman throughout the level. Megaman is kinda like his megaman and bass type. He's good for combat but not as well for platforming and Roll is a Platforming God with beat

so here are the main diffrent between Megaman and Roll:(some kinda not but kinda is a spoiler nothing mind blowing) Megaman has 1 more defence than Roll so he take 1 less damage,has a charge shot duh and he can have rush related utility and he can upgrade his buster charge Roll has a double Jump so she the "easy mode",she have Beat related utility and her double jump can be upgrade.They both have the same weapon so dont worry
Megaman 2407 Huh. Somehow I remember the MM4 Charge Shot being weaker. Likely because Cossack upgraded it to the “Super Mega Buster” in MM5. Maybe I’m thinking more of Proto Man’s charge shots.

This one seems like a different spin on Mega Man and Bass’s dynamic of two characters or maybe even like Mega Man Xtreme 2 of choosing which character goes to each stage and figures out who gets each weapon.
I actually like the Fighting design for Roll in this game. It’s quickly growing, except there’s no ponytail.
Should be interesting to see how the stages play out since the disclaimer said that the entire run has already been finished.

So the jist is that rock and roll both have different advantages which are easy to see
Roll's advantages: Double Jump that can help with platforming, dodging boss attacks, finding secrets, and skipping enemies. Beat the bird can help with getting around stages
Roll's Disadvantages: +1 Damage taken from everything making her double jump and slide very important. No charge shot meaning that bustering bosses like Reactor man is way harder. No Rush Jet Or Coil
Megaman also has pros and cons
Rock's Pros: Takes -1 damage from everything meaning bosses and enemies are slightly less threatening. A charged shot, helping you when you run out of ammo for special weapons, are going through stages, or fighting their first boss. Has rush coil and rush jet to help with platforming after 2 or 6 stages I think.
Rock's Cons: No double jump meaning bosses like Drake man are harder to dodge. No beat the bird to carry megaman throughout the level.
Megaman is kinda like his megaman and bass type. He's good for combat but not as well for platforming and Roll is a Platforming God with beat

so here are the main diffrent between Megaman and Roll:(some kinda not but kinda is a spoiler nothing mind blowing)
Megaman has 1 more defence than Roll so he take 1 less damage,has a charge shot duh and he can have rush related utility and he can upgrade his buster charge
Roll has a double Jump so she the "easy mode",she have Beat related utility and her double jump can be upgrade.They both have the same weapon so dont worry
Also Mega Man’s charge shot only deals 2 damage at first.

Megaman 2407 Huh. Somehow I remember the MM4 Charge Shot being weaker. Likely because Cossack upgraded it to the “Super Mega Buster” in MM5. Maybe I’m thinking more of Proto Man’s charge shots.
