    For anyone confused, Prince Sixtus’s name comes from the fact that he was his father’s sixth son. Although all 5 of his elder brother’s were half-brothers from his father’s previous marriage, 2 of them (his eldest and his 5th brother) died as infants, and 2 more (2nd and 3rd) suffered from intellectual disabilities and did not participate in any kind of public life. Sixtus was himself his father’s eldest son by his second marriage.

    i think the ultranationalist would've won this scenario, as with russia on its side, germany would never run out of wartime resources to fuel their enormous military, enabling them to ensure a stalemate with a firm grasp over continental europe and a cold war thereafter

    • @justagreekhistorian
      @justagreekhistorian  10 месяцев назад +4

      It's definetally a possibility, really anything can happen with how the alliances have been set up
      If the US stays out of the war, and if we assume the Russians and the Germans can cooperate, then it's very likely that an axis victory scenario is accomplished

    • @kylezdancewicz7346
      @kylezdancewicz7346 10 месяцев назад +1

      You can also have it when stalemate occurs with a US intervention that keeps the need for Russians to protect their Siberian holdings and then the Usa could probably keep the French and British fighting assuming no big mistakes from France, and Austria could certainly hold for long enough to allow a solid stalemate. The USA could also support Japan to add to the harassment on Russia as really the ultranationalist have no way to contest the allied navies. But now all we need is the ultranationalist to be ultranationalist and tensions will eventually flare up and they end up destroying themselves. The land lost to Russia for Germany could be an easy way to get the downfall started, similar to our world war 2 when victory seemed assured they turn to fight their “ally”. Maybe Russia starts it because Russia should be able to beat japans continental empire pretty easily and then they go back west and maybe betray the Germans over Silesia and middle Europeans territories.

      @@justagreekhistorian Another pretty cool idea for a World War 1 Althist that I've never really seen explored before is "What if Greece joined the Entente in 1914?" Since it was the King who halted Greece from coming to the defense of Serbia in 1914 despite the two countries having gold relations at that point, Greece's entry into the war in 1917 opened the way for the capitulation of Bulgaria so having them on the Entente side when the war begins would be quite interesting

    This is a very good video. You put a lot of effort in youre maps they are really great. Also, I don't necessarily disagree with the fact that the Hungarians would veto any proposal of the empire to create a third crown, but just for the sake of the scenario, I assume they passed, mainly because Karl really wanted this and if it didn't happen it would undoubtedly lead to the collapse of the empire

    Great content, i really like your thinking and a great idea for a alternative scenario. I would like to see a scenario where independant Czechoslovakia restores a kingdom, but with Russian nobility, this is what legionaries and minister of war who organised them supported. The minister was Milan Rastislaf Štefánik, one of the 3 founders of Czechoslovakia, he didnt picture the state as a republic, he was a staunch monarchist, Edvard Beneš is the reason why Czechoslovakia became a republic and i want to see that changed. Ive been trying to find somewhere to read about this concepts of alternative history, but i couldnt find any myself, so i completely understand if you dont find anything about it and dont make a video about it.

    For your first video, this is more than good, it really feels like a professional video
    One issue that I have is your voice, I think it would be better if you try to speak slower and calmer, feel like it would make you sound better
    Can't wait to see what you plan for your future videos
    Greetings from Serbia

    Great video, especially for a first one!
    I do, however have just a couple minor criticisms to make, and I think they would be helpful :
    1) Perhaps speak a tiny bit slower when you talk, as it is sometimes hard to understand it.
    2) As well, maybe clean up the borders a little when you make them, since borders like in transylvania would make more sense to be akind to the ww2 Second Vienna Award borders, with far less rough edges.
    Otherwise, amazing video!

    • @justagreekhistorian
      @justagreekhistorian  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yo! Thanks a lot, I will try to make my narrating a bit slower
      This video was actually a lot faster, but when I rewatched it I couldn't understand anything so I had to redo the whole video and I was too tired to notice it was still fast
      Also, about the borders, I will be improving on those too in the next video
      Thanks for the advice and have a nice rest of your day!

    How do you make your maps?

    • @justagreekhistorian
      @justagreekhistorian  9 месяцев назад

      My maps are a modified version of the map at mapchart.net
      After I got the map, I went to paint.net (an amazing image editing program) and I traced it over with a brush size of 6 and with Aliased rendering
      Then, I just added the colors to the states and a color to the sea
      If you wanna add more details, I gave the ocean some variety using the Rubber Stamp effect and added a simple outline around the coastlines
      I may make some kind of tutorial in the future

    It would be fun to see how in this timeline it’s more likely that Italy could behave more like Fascist Spain, neutral, due to having received their territories. Expansion would have a bit lesser high point on the agenda, due to not being humiliated by the British for not receiving anything.
