    Fun fact, Kaiser Willhelm wasn't abrasive, he tried many times to end the war, and even tried to NOT invade Belgium, but due to a traitor, he was technically forced to. Not only that, but in private he had a severe case of Anxiety, not believing in himself as a leader, putting himself down as much as possible. Really it's sad that his history was rewritten, but that was how corrupt the French and Britsh were at the time.

      I wonder how Germany could seize Alsace-Lorraine given the Maginot Line AND without involving Belgium this time. Because Britain.

    That whole characterization about Wilhelm’s arm giving him an inferiority complex. Wilhelm II ruled Germany as a popular and capable monarch. Many of his statements were spun by the Entente. Wilhelm II didn’t hate Britain actually far from it. He also managed to peacefully diffuse a potential civil war had Bismarck gotten his way. A coal miner’s strike broke out in Westphalia for better working conditions. Wilhelm II mediated the dispute himself and got better conditions. No blood was spilled and had the army been called in their would have been a massive crackdown.
    Wilhelm wasn’t a bad monarch. He however was slandered mercilessly through Entente propaganda. He wasn’t a warmonger and he wasn’t really inept either.

    • @LocalDeepstateAgent
      @LocalDeepstateAgent 5 лет назад +159

      Thank christ someone who doesnt take all his info from biaspedia. Wilhelm whilst being a great strategist and having one of the strongest,
      arguably the strongest army around that time, saw war as no mean to resolve issues. Even thought the british and french journalists made fun of him and WW1/prior germany, he didnt see the means to send german forces to borders in order to press those governments to do something about those insults against him. Actually, it was the peopel of germany that were pissed about those folks slandering their kaiser, not him.

    *What if the Lower and Upper Canada rebellion was successful?*
    Upper Canada as an English majority might have likely joined the United States, while Loyalists would most likely move out west to probably the Canadian prairies where it was purchased by HBC as Rupertsland until the British government purchased them, making it British territory, and a safe haven for Loyalists.
    Lower Canada would be “Republique du Canada” as an independent French nation in North America reminiscent of the days of New France.
    Around the time (1837), France was in its July Monarchy phase, a constitutional monarchy set up by the governmental satisfy royalist and republicans of the country. In our timeline this never worked out well for long as riots and civil unrest trampled the ideal of having a royal figurehead in the seat of government.
    In the alternate timeline, Napoleon III (king years later) recognizes the Canadian Republic and decides to dump most of its radical left wing citizens to an already established French speaking republic.
    One of which included Victor Hugo, as in the OTL was exiled in to the Isle of Guernsey. But in the ATL he might have migrated to Canada where he might bring his political ideals to the young nation, maybe likely become President of Canada; as in the in OTL where he was elected in the National Assembly of France as a likely candidate as a national leader. This is only hypothetical, but nonetheless really cool to see one of the most influential writers of the 19th century become president of the Great White North.
    With lesser left wing ideals, France’s figurehead could remain a lot longer then in the OTL.
    Leave a comment of suggestions on how I should continue this timeline!

    I as a German monarchist can honestly say I don’t blame Wilhelm the Second for his abrasive nature or his out burst for one thing think of his legacy he is following in the boots of his Grandfather Kaiser Wilhelm the First was seen as the king that unified all of Germany his grandfather while prince became famous for stopping an uprising of anti Prussian dissenters and being name Prince Wilhelm of Grapeshoot for it. Plus look at the kings who came before him he was following in the foot steps of some of Prussia’s greatest kings and yet here he was thrust to the position Kaiser earlier then he should and only barely being prepared for what lied ahead yet he persevered and tried to raise a powerful nation one that just by it existing was a threat. The French despised The German Empire with every fiber of their being and it showed even after World War 1 with how both them and England treated Germany during the treaty and even after with how Germans were treated during the Rhine Occupation. The German Empire was destroyed by terrified and power hungry nations like France and England and didn’t help that Woodrow Wilson was also there (I’m going to stop myself there as if say anything else this will turn into a tirade about that fucking racist warmongering Woodrow “shit stained” Wilson )

    I'm writing a Novel about this. In 1925 Wilhelm II comes back and the National Socialists become more Monarchist over time. Germany pulls a man in the High Castle over 60 ish years till the modern day where the Germans unified all European peoples with each former nation becoming a Kingdom with their own Monarchs loyal to the Kaiser, some of them being from the House of Hohenzollern like Ukraine and the Baltics. Every Provence with European majority population is able to vote in elections with over twenty parties, but three main ones dominate, the reformed NSDAP, The Nationalist-Monarchist Union and the Volks Democratic Party. The Chancellor is no longer picked by the Kaiser after some reforms in 1963 and instead elected through an electoral college and each seat in the Reichstag is similar to how they are elected to the modern German Bundestag. Half the seats come from party appointed representatives based on percent of vote and other half are local district candidates. They are highly nationalistic and united people with the Kaiser viewed very positively with a Military the size of Modern France population and in a cold war about to be made hot with an East Asian Communist nation which is like Stalin Soviet Union 2.0

      parlamentarian monarchy: monarch has no effective power: e.g. UK
