Thanks for posting this video! Was able to repair my 25 cent machine after it jammed last night. Love how you gave all these important tips in a video that was less than 5 minutes long. Again, thanks for posting!
Our pleasure Mike. Glad we could help. Thanks for taking the time to let us know. Jeff
you just saved me a bunch of money. I unjammed my 4star Jennings Chief with your help. Thank you so much
Dan Z That just made our day Dan. Enjoy. Thanks for sharing. Jeff
Just got my first Mills Hi-Top, excellent video, well explained and illustrated.
Glad it could help. Thanks for watching. Jeff
thanks great video!!
Thanks for watching
So cool; like a 60’s Johnson outboard, 50hp+: all mechanical, all slop, and way cool
Indeed. Thanks for watching
Good video helpful
Glad it could help Gary. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the helpful video! My late grandfather kept his 1 cent unit and when it fell into my parent's house and my son played with it, they could not remember how to unjam it. Now it works again and we know exactly what we need to do in the future (historically, this unit would jam all the time but my grandfather would fix it)
Glad we could help. Thanks for sharing and watching.
great video! just got my first one, and sure enough I had some issues. thanks for taking the time to produce this, it was extremely helpful! I have an accumulation of coins that sit upon the jackpot, will try to use your advice to see if I can set it up properly.
steve perrin Congrats on your first slot Steve. Glad it could help. Thanks for watching. Jeff
I have an antique mills nickle slot machine, I have two issues at this time. first it is giving free pulls. And the second is it is not paying out. when I took a look at the pay tube, it was half full. I tried filling it manually , but that did not help on the pay out. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Thanks for these videos! I recently acquired a Mills 5c Castle Front, and it's great to see how it works. Unfortunately, mine stopped working last night and I'm hoping to troubleshoot it. The mechanism's coin detection bar (the one coming up out of the machine) doesn't reset to the original position after play. That is, I put in a coin, I pull the arm, it plays, while playing that coin detection arm is moved in to prevent coins from going down. But after the game finishes it doesn't fully pop back out. If I remove the mechanism it resets fine, and it doesn't seem to have issues if I run the machine outside of the case. It feels like some problem between the mechanism and the coin detector. I would LOVE some help if you have suggestions.
How do I get the lever that you pull down unstuck? When I pull the handle down the mechanism is stuck down causing it not to spin
Pull it farther down to see if it releases it. If not it could be anything holding it up.
I picked up an older aristocrat nevada machine. Reels spin but just barely. Its not too dirty. I dont see any old dry grease. The reels just dont seem to be starting correctly.
Hi there, so I have a 1 arm bandit slot machine from the 1960’s and the reals and lights work, but the machine doesn’t dispense coins when you get a payout. I was just wondering how I may be able to fix this?
Just saw your video. Is there a way to contact you?
If the slot machine is not turning on, what should i check first. Great video by the way, super helpful.
Thanks for watching. What do you mean that it's "not turning on"? These are mechanical.
This video is a real help. Many thanks! My machine has a problem with the coin spacers through the front lens. The coins are slipping in front of the spacers and jamming up together so the coins are actually touching each other.
Greg Hi Greg. Thanks for watching and the nice complement. Why don’t you give Jim a call directly and see if he can talk you through it you can reach him at 714.351.1508. Thanks Jeff
@@MantiquesNetworkShow Many thanks. I'm actually in the UK and not the US. Very kind of you though. Much appreciated.
@@Greg-fl4cb Our pleasure. Feel free to call him still
@@MantiquesNetworkShow Many thanks. I might do that!
Very nice tutorial.... Bloody phones always ring at the worst times...lol
you can silence a phone so it keeps ringing just not aloud..
cool vid
I have a Mills Firebird with a similar mechanism. My lever with the coin detection pin does not fully return back and seems to be out of adjustment. I found what appears to be a missing bumper on the front of the vertical arm. The vertical arm is coming too far forward not allowing that horizontal arm to return. Any suggestions on adjustment or finding that missing bumper?
J W Give Jim 714. 351. 1508 a call to see if he can talk you through a solution. Thanks for watching. Jeff
I have an early War Eagle 25-cent machine that plays perfectly. Been restored by a top restorer. Awhile ago I got a jackpot and it worked fine. Putting in the next coin, the reserve jackpot started to fall but didn't and the machine is jammed. The handle is down halfway and I can't pull it further. Hopefully there is an easy fix. I have hit several jackpots on the machine and they always paid correctly and the reserve jackpot fell properly. Would appreciate very much your response. Thanks
Scott it could be a whole host of things. If you have the ability to bring it by our shop in Orange California we will take a look at it for you. Thanks for watching our video. Good luck.
Do you know of anyone in SE Florida that can refurbish an old electro mechanical?
We don’t know anyone Joe. They are very few restorers left. Might have to Google someone closer and either drive it out or ship it. When we were still offering Full Restorations we can clients drive them down to Southern California as far away as San Francisco and ship from as far away as NYC. We can only hope the younger generation learns how to restore these timepieces. Thanks for watching. Jeff
My machine wheels are slow can you give me a hint on how to fix that. On my other machine the 3rd wheel just keeps spinning. I would like to know what I can do to fix that one as well. Thank you
Hi Mark, Thanks for watching our video. Jim addresses how you can correct the slow turning wheels in the video. Without seeing your other machine we really can't tell you why the 3rd wheel keeps spinning. Thanks Jeff
@@MantiquesNetworkShow i can send pics or video
@@mikefitz7291 Not much we can do without having it on our bench.
My Mills has coins in the chute but it seems like during payout the coin slide plate assembly does not go back far enough to dispense the coins upon payout. Don't know what happened, it was working fine, I opened it up to check on things and clean out misplaced coins and when I put it back together, nothing pays out. Could there be a coin behind the plates preventing it from moving? Do I need to tear it all down to verify this?
You most likely have a hidden coin or 2 somewhere. We think you will have to start taking it apart. Good Luck.
@@MantiquesNetworkShow Thank you for the quick reply. Is there a video you can point me to that explains the best way to just remove the coin chute and dispenser without a complete teardown?
@@rickbuckley7649 Unfortunately there is no quick video. If you are anywhere close to Southern California feel free to bring it in and we will see what we can do. Thanks
The Mantiques Network Will do. Thanks
I am unable to get the reels to rotate , can you help. cheers
Sure we can try and help you. We are rolling out for the weekend. However next week we will pull a mech out and go through some things you can try. I'll get it up by Monday. Stay Tuned and have a nice weekend. Thanks for watching The Mantiques Network
ruclips.net/video/IPgMf3srtBc/видео.html
Thanks for that, but I still have no understanding why the reels do not rotate properly
I'm not sure what to tell you. If you take it apart like Jim is showing and put it back together it should free the wheels. He shows in the video what could be hanging up the wheel. If you have a way to get it to us we would be more than happy to take a look at it. Thanks Jeff
I have finely got it working, thanks. But i would like for the reels to turn for a little while longer, what adjustments do I do?
My friend has a elvis slot machine that will not stop spinning any ideas
David montagpf We only deal with fully mechanical machines. Thanks for watching
WD-40?????
WinstonFoster Yes. Have you tried it?
Very nice! I don't own one of these . . . yet. Plan on getting one over the next year. This will be very helpful.
Craig Lafferty thanks for watching Craig
