I'm sorry Lord Ishimura, but I was left with no choice, I had to betray the Samurai Code, for the sake of our people, our island. The Mongols are brutal, without mercy, but I, I had to be worse.
2:53 is beautiful played out. Jin obviously abit on guard but constantly looking at shimura awaiting his reaction for himself (Jin) to act on. Jin misinterpreted shimuras anger to pure rage hence him drawing arms and questioning if a coward would stab his jito in the back. Shimura understands full well what Jin is going to or at least hinting at and reprimands him for his uncontrolled anger. All of this is taking place within 4 seconds such a heavy scene once unpacked
You know, I have played so many stealth games that I’ve become almost numb to the idea that stealth attacks are considered cowardly or dishonorable. But I also try to live by the code of the warrior. Whether it be chivalry or bushido. So doing this the first time, made me feel as if I had broken my own code. I felt the same way Jin felt
Dunno, I've soo bored with Stealth game that I used Standoff Every time. First time I touch this game and I played on Lethal. And kills are so satisfying (but you die like 50 times in a tale as well) And when you succeeded you felt like you are really in Samurai movie. I will not let this game to be Assassin Creed but in Japan.
youre a depressed gamer in a basement (who else writes about their feelings in a youtube comment section) and you talk about "courage" and "the code of the warrior" and "chivalry".
Yeah plus the game is basically order 66 with samurai as the samurai get wiped out by the monguls and have to survive in hiding like how the Jedi did after order 66
Agree, also I don't know if I'm only one, but throughout the story I had a strong feeling, like I'm playing a Jedi knight, that slowly falling and abandoning ''ways of Jedi'', but in this instance for the better, because despite consequences, Jin actions help the Tsushima island.
I had one thing occur where I infiltrated a base and assassinated someone sometime after this mission, and the game replayed a piece of dialog that Jin remembered, basically reiterating that he shouldn't be stealth killing. He said, "I'm sorry.." aloud after it happened. It happened my first time ever playing the game and now on a second playthrough it hasn't triggered?
Yea in mine he’d keep saying “I’m sorry” or “I didn’t want this” every now and then when i’d assassinate someone. Then again I tried to do it as little as possible so maybe a lack of me doing it is what would drag out these lines. Anyways they completely stopped after retaking Shimura castle
An actual realistic example of what doing something like this would be like for the first time.

Rip and tear until it done.

@@MrPathorn Can’t argue with that. It just felt like being at war between the things you need to do and the things you want to do

Yep. I can definitely see how George Lucas used the ways of the samurai when he created the Jedi

Samurai + jedi = badass game
The ironic thing here is that samurai did this all the time, especially during the Sengoku Jidai.

It triggers with your first airial stealth kill specificly

You can read hagakure, to understand better
Only coward strike from shadow. That why stealth in game is broken. Lol.
I think the stealth is meant to be a bit broken, so it makes you want to be more dishonorable
@Robert Phillips it is broken as in, very simplistic, bad AI and just all round way too easy
