i wanna take a moment to appreciate that fact that you have gone through every game(including the ones konami hasn't re-released) and put nearly every version of Vampire Killer in a Medley for us.
There A LOT of changes I had to do to this video, here they are: -Added 5 versions, from OoE, DoS (Mobile), The Arcade (2nd version), Sound Voltex Booth and Super Bomberman R; -Proper loops given to MIDI RolandSC-55 ver., Chronicles, Order of Shadows and Los Pachislot, and corrected DoS (NDS) and HD loops; -Corrected the chronological order of pretty much the whole video + correct placement of the 2 MIDIs from Akumajou Dracula (Sharp X68000) and Resurrection (why it was placed that late in the old video is beyond my comprehension) -Adjusted Title Screens of some games (LoS is in Italian bc I couldn't change the game language to English lol). This took some time to make, so excuse the delay (it should have been released like 5 hours ago, but cat decided to sit on my pc and undo the rendering of the video .-.). I’ve thought long and hard over my favorite version for years; decided to go with my gut and pick Dawn of Sorrow’s because it’s the cleanest the song’s ever sounded imo and this versions’ bridge is easily the best with no close competition
My favorite part about the Adventure Rebirth OST is how every single song has the Vampire Killer intro from the Sharp X68000 Castlevania game, but transitions into a different song, until the final level where it actually transitions into Vampire Killer
the X68K version is still my absolute favorite - both the normal and Sound Canvas versions The standard sound processor version has that late 80s Konami/Capcom/Sega arcade board sound and the percussion is snappier than the MIDI versions, but the breakdown in the Sound Canvas version is also cool But all three versions have some groovy bass lines. they slap
I was honestly slightly shook when I saw that Sound Voltex had a Vampire Killer remix when I first played SV. Then I was more shook because it slapped real god damn hard.
The X68000 one will always stand out to me, especially the original. Because the additional part they added before the loop is likely the source of Luna Clock ~ Luna Dial
Playing Dracula X and when I got to stage 2, I'm dissapointed to say that version of vampire killer failed to deliver xD They put the "down" in "Downgraded Rondo" that much xD I'd listen to Chronicles' version everyday lmao 🕺🏾
27:53 For years I've played Contra Hard Corps and since it was before of playing Castlevania i never know it was Vampire Killer. Years later playing Castlevania Bloodlines i realized it was from that franchise haha. The whole homage is amazing XD My favorite one is probably Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles honestly ❤
What a castle gate blast. My favorite track all way is Chronicles. Pachinko Lords of Shadow/Judgement got extremely good than Super Smash Bro. rendition.
I feel the SSBU rendition is weak compared to the others (it's rather boring, repeating the same line without altering the instruments that much). I do find it interesting because it takes some inspiration from the rendition found in Guitarfreaks V6 (fun fact, the artist that composed this version is the same one who composed some Judgment tracks)
@@castlevaniamusicforever I love Vampire Killer! Vampire Killer is way more badass then Bloody Tears. Besides, this fits Simon Belmont's character really well! also I just noticed that the Chronicles version is dope, not to mention it is bumping!
At the time I couldn't really tell the difference between the FDS and Famicom versions, so I put the screenshot from what I thought to be the FDS version. It really doesn't matter in the end, since the song is the same.
I really like the rondo of blood, judgement, dracula x chronicles, the arcade, and super smash bros versions of this tune. :) As for bloody tears, I really like the rondo of blood version.
The "FDS" version here is just the NES one with reverb edited in. The actual FDS version is 1:1 identical to the NES version - in fact, unlike its sequel Akumajou Dracula doesn't even use the FDS expansion sound. There's some awful reverb edited into the Bloodlines version as well - not the Hard Corps version though, but it sounds inaccurate (no ladder effect or low-pass filter like on a real console). I like how you put in the obscure DoS mobile port. That's a nice touch.
That's due to the awful files I had back then. If you've noticed, recent videos don't have the "FDS" version (because of redundancy), for Bloodlines I'll use the reverb-less songs in the next video.
Akumajou Dracula: Gekka no Yasokyouku is the Japanese name for Symphony of the Night: I use it to refer to the Saturn port of the game (which is Japanese exclusive)
Yeah, without getting too "music nerd" here, the composer/arranger of that version made a very mind-boggling decision to change the mode on those opening notes, and it really doesn't work (imo).
Fun fact: when Simon and Richter were revealed in August 2018, the direct played both versions. Given the extreme similarities, the fans were lead to believe that the new Vampire Killer was yet to be heard.... I wish we got another remix, should I be honest.
Personal Top 5 Vampire Killer Versions 1. Castlevania Judgment (Obviously) 2. Castlevania Chronicles (IT'S DISCO TIME BABY HIT IT DJACULA) 3. Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles (Might be an unpopular opinion given the game's popularity but it's one of my favorites nonetheless) 4. Castlevania Dracula X (It's the one I grew up with as it was the first Castlevania I played alongside Super Castlevania IV) 5. Castlevania Harmony of Despair (Gotta love the mix between the classic version and a more modern version)
Edit on the replies because it might look weird alongside the other places don't judge me or I'll tell my mom, anyways I might update the list once I do the hard challenge of deciding which one's better than the other by personal opinion alone (atleast it's no Order of Ecclesia on hard mode level cap 1 without a new game plus)
