Thank you Alan! Good luck on the pursuit. Things are heating up now and as summer progresses you should get some opportunities. Try a small popper in the 100mm range around structure like points, wharves, moored boats or reefs at dawn in the harbour or Botany Bay. I find a slow pop pop action and lots of pauses sets them off. All the best!
Epic episode Bugsy!!! How good are those surface strikes - aiming for the big dogs with the Saltiga / Tobizo combo! Nice! Be seeing down there you soon bro ;) - SMITHY 😉🤙🎣🐟
Hey mate I’ve been fishing if the rocks a fair bit recently around the central coast and have had no luck with pelagics… just wondering if u catch fish constantly of the rocks or if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks and awesome vid stoked for u!
Hey mate, the pelagics can be hit and miss one day to the next, particularly this time of year. This day was full of action. Most days are a bit more hard work for sure. I try to mix it up and fish all levels of the water column when it is slow. Starting with topwater, then plastics, then sinking stick baits at all levels, then diving minnows, then shore jigging. Just to see what is working on the day. And mixing up the colours. But both white and green seem to work well. I'm sure a good fish will turn up soon. It's just a matter of time
@@bugsyfishing Nice 👍 Sure looks like a lot of fun there. I thought it was going to be a decent depth by the looks of how you let it sink and reel it in 🎣 Keep up the good fishing videos 👌
@@bugsyfishing hahah same! I do most my fishing during the weekdays. Weather hasn’t been good lately for the ledges. So just binge watching some of your vids. Def will say gday
It's in Sydney on the ocean ledges. I don't name exact locations but all the ocean ledges have their day. And the ledges in Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay hold good kingfish too
Hey mate Bugsy just moved in to Sydney and been looking around some places to fish land based. Whereabouts these ledges in Sydney you've been fishin on mate? Hope to bump in to you some time.
Hey mate, I fish all over both north and south of the bridge. Almost every headland has a decent ledge. Some good land based spots in the harbour too. Lots to explore. I don't name locations to respect the crew who fish them regularly. Hopefully bump into you sometime
Hi Josh, I do my best to keep locations quiet. Kingfish are being caught all along the Sydney coastline at the moment. Yeah, 8 foot is okay. I like something a little longer but my heavy rod here is 8'3" and it is fine
I really like the Maria Rapido 160F I was using. It takes a little bit of getting used to but the surface strikes are addictive. A 100mm popper with a small cup face is another favourite too. The DUO Fangpop 105
Okay mate thanks so much for your reply, I'm new too fishing so I need all the help I can get 😆 I'm definitely gonna watch your fishing content since I'm also based in Sydney, I haven't caught much and I've only got a cheap setup but damn getting addicted real quick and gonna upgrade my gear and start fishing in Sydney Harbour or even go try rock fishing idk but it's really helping with my mental health and takes my mind off things, so yeah I really appreciate any tips or advice 👍 happy fishing mate.
@@dylanjames97 no worries mate. Yeah it's addictive and a healthy activity for sure. We're just getting into the best time of year for fishing. The harbour is starting to produce and even using light gear and flicking small lures for whiting, flathead and bream on the sand flats is super fun at the moment. Keep enjoying it. Catching a fish is just a bonus

@@jackz5846 good question. It would depend on a range of factors and how lucky you get. Some don't fight that hard. Others go nuts. I want my heavy set up for anything over 80cm just to be sure
The juvenile or smaller kingfish are commonly called rats. Why is a good question. Because rats are small and there tend to be lots of them hanging together? Not sure
