This song helped me when I was a new missionary among Arab Muslims back in 1980s- I still believe it.
This song changed my life. It taught me the truth. I was set free and God loved me for eternity. I needed it then and I need it now. Thank you, God, for loving me and giving me Christ for salvation.
The keyboard track to this song is INCREDIBLE.

I have been a Petra fan for years, but somehow I have overlooked this song except when I listen to "Petrafied", which is one of the 9 albums I have in my car at all times. This song is quickly becoming one of my favorites, which says a great deal.

I've been thinking about this album over the past few days. One thing you can say about Petra on a musical level... they weren't trying to imitate anyone else. They were doing their own thing.
The thing about Petra is each album they did sounded different from the previous album they did. This album had a much more beefy sound to it than the previous albums did, thanks in part to the Elefante Bros being the producers.
This song really met the challenge before Petra with John as their new singer and the new era of synthesized music. As I look back, I truly believe Petra was in God’s hands and He has given us some of the greatest Godly lyrics that will stand the test of time. Considering all that was ahead for Petra, this album was huge.
To be brutally honest. It’s the weakest song on the album musically and lyrically, but the message still comes through… and that message is strong.
Regardless…spread the joy and The Word, right?!? ❤🙂
John Schlitt may not have the range of Greg X. Volz, but there's more power and passion in his voice.
Check out his version of the Hallelujah Chorus from his new Christmas album and you might change your mind - it's insane!
They actually have about the same vocal range -- right about 4 octaves -- although I do believe Greg has (or at least had back then) a slightly wider range.

This really brings up memories...good ones...naive ones. It is kind of a drag that information/knowledge is the enemy of faith. Just can´t go back to theistic belief. But still can enjoy the good music. And Petra is one of the best bands.

You know, the song can be clearly be applied to situations today as it was in 1986. Every time I hear more about man-made global climate change, I want to play this song more and more. This song shouts the TRUTH:

It's so incredibly ironic that alot of these doomsday "prophets" agree wholeheartedly with the book of Revelation's prophet and a god who says to love your enemies and yet tortures people who will not turn to him...who are presumably his enemies. Jesus isn't like this. I've been worried about this for a long time...am I missing something here?

Jesus will he the judge in the end I don't know much but I know this all of humanity will say" just is your judgement " to God so the people that will be punished will agree that they should be and the people that are rewarded will agree they should be.I take this as a comfort that no matter what happens what is right will eventually prevail.
