Also I've been so down, depressed with 30,000 in debt to college which is all I make at my dead end job. All I could think was 30 grand down the drain and I still can't even get a job to pay it off. Anyways I'm still in debt and still at a dead end job but finding these songs helped me. I'm happy listening to them. My mom always told me as a kid that if I was sad I should listen to music about God and I'd feel better. She was right :)

Brother, I saw your comment, and I just wanted to tell you that no matter how you have had to sacrifice for a college education, it will someday pay off! The Lord Jesus will somehow reward your hard work, but it will be on His time! I have been to two colleges and a seminary, and I am 56 years old, but the Lord is not finished with me yet! As my former pastor used to tell me: “Hang in there!” “More power to ya!”
What did you take up in college?sometimes a trade is better,consider plumbing,always work for that,some companies will train you and send you to plumbing school for free
Giving tenth or bless financially a ministry you care for is also a way out of dept. But you need to really love that ministry, so you can give with love and not out of force. Jesus can also soften hearts to be able to "love to give". In the old testament God promise to take care of provision when giving tenth. Now, we are not under that law anymore, but The Word of God never returns empty anyhow, and IS blessing those, who from a good intention, bless His servants🌻 (sometimes to give a thing can be an option if no money. But you need to agree in your heart to do it)

I got saved in 1985. I was 13 years old, and I've been listening to them for about that long. I couldn't really get into the super early stuff because I just don't like the really early style But the stuff starting in the late '70s is really good. Greg X. Volz is a Great singer, and so is John Schlitt. Thanks Petra for being part of the soundtrack of my life for all these years.

While all my friends in high school were listening to hair bands or heavy metal, I was an '80s kid rocking out to Petra. Being a Christian kid in public high school in the '80s was tough, but I wouldn't want to do it now because kids haven't even harder.

I listened to this as a kid almost everytime we were in the car and for some reason the tune came back 22 years later but I couldnt remember the song or artist as I was so young...it took my 3 weeks to find it and I'm so glad I did

I remember when I was in my teens and saw these guys at the Trenton War Memorial in New Jersey way back in early to mid 80’s, this is my favorite song by them, one day we will all give an account to God!!

Just seen the live concert on DVD for the first time this eve. Always loved their tunes. However, Angel of Light is AWESOME!!! It got me. That's all I have to say.
By and far, they've truly come home back to the rock with their best effort out of the gate in many years. This whole release does the '80s justice & makes me want to listen to music again away from the evil crud that's spiritually nauseating.
Thank you, Petra, for being the faithful messengers evangelising God's Word to the masses blessing prodigals like me who so desperately needed a fresh infusion of God's Spirit in my life. Your gift of music is a blessing to me I'll pass to my family.

I was introduced to Petra in a church library when I was about 7 or 8 and was astonished there actually was Christian rock and roll. Out of all their albums I would have to say that this is my favorite. This album has been very therapeutic over the last several months, I love it!

If y'all like Petra you should check out this other band disciple disciple was supposed to open for them but because the night before disciples was supposed to play by themselves got canceled Petra instead of playing the regular set they would have they let disciple be the main act and they went home early and that the disciple get all the attention from the fans to Petra met them two times genuine folks genuine that's why I listen to Christian rock
I Love classic Petra. John Schlit is very good, but sings with talent. Greg X. Volz, on the other hand, sings from the heart.

are these songs all in a lower key?
I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but they do use a dropped D tuning on their guitar pretty often.
Do you think you would be able to hit the same high notes in the same key 30 to 40 years after you first recorded them? Just sayin.
Greg X Volz is 67 years old. He still has pretty good range for someone pushing 70... auto tune or not. Sometimes people forget the original artists of groups like Petra, REZ band, Degarmo & Key, Phil Keaggy , White Heart and so forth (those that are still alive) are all senior citizens now.
Love to see new music from Petra, been a fan of theirs for about 20 years, Greg still sounds great!
Definitely have to add this one to my collection.
