I mean before it started to fall back there was a fraction of a second where the lift was totally complete and stable, thats enough to warrant the down signal imo it's not a competition of who can hold it the longest
Agreed. I like Evan and his intensity too. But, Generally you don't get a "down" or "good lift" signal until your feet are more in line and the bell is stable. There may have been a very lightning fast split second where his elbow was locked, but his feet were still in that split jerk stance. That was a gift. Ultimately didn't affect the end result of the comp. As someone said above, there were at least 3 other gimme's besides this one, so I guess it was fair judging to a point.
Meanwhile Pavlo got the go ahead from the ref on the shield carry and was still deducted a full length. If the athlete gets the down signal it counts, no matter how bad the reffing was. This is so stupid
@@michaelsweeney1283 Yeah and not even 1 meter should be deducted imo. He got the signal to go ahead, it's the refs fault if he "cheated and got away with it" Rules are rules and if Pavlo didn't touch the line AND didn't get the signal from the ref AND the rules say he should be deducted a length, harsh but fair. This though, wow
@@evetrescoemes3256 Totally fair. I still err on the side of deducting nothing but either of our solutions would be better. Thankfully Pavlo looks great and I think he will be back with more opportunities
@steven macinnis he is actually a sweetheart in person. I met him at a show, and he was such a lovely guy we gotta remember his videos show Evan when he is competitive
Everyone shit talking Singleton for getting the down signal here.. paused 0:31 time stamp clearly shows a full lift with that dumbbell. I'll admit the sequence looked sloppy, but he got it up there and the ref agreed. Camera angles can be deceiving sometimes.
Not every event tho, but Even was by far my favourite athlete at WSM this year, Tom is better than Even by a lot on the log, deadlift and stones. loading its tough separate them
@meginna8354 it was for a split second, and he got the down signal. That's all that matters. If MVM gave the down signal, then that's all I need to know.
@@Donantonio26Wrong, never close to being straightened out or balanced, with it under controlled at the top. Well, just say you're a fanboy instead darting from one argument of desperation to the next. He did get the down signal, judges, even MVM, make bad or even wrong calls (this might be his worst) but that was not a good rep by the criteria of the rules.
How in hell is it a lockout ? What a shame.
Pretty controversial
I love Singleton but how in God’s green earth did he get the down signal???😂
Referee gave him the signal, angles of view can play a part in that I imagine
I mean before it started to fall back there was a fraction of a second where the lift was totally complete and stable, thats enough to warrant the down signal imo it's not a competition of who can hold it the longest
There were a handful of those during DB. I guess at least consistent...
It is was clearly briefly locked out. These are not dumbbells you expect to be held at lockout. You just need to get a lockout for a split second

pretty sad that this passes for a lockout
Yeah I was thinking the same thing Zach, didn't look like a lock out to me either. Maybe our angle was different then the Judges.
That sure didn't look locked to me
Hooper and Singleton both seemed to have shaky lockouts
Hopefully the judges treat everyone the same

100% agree Pavlo got the signal so distance should have counted.

WSM is corrupt af
Yeah at most they should have deducted like a metre or something
@@evetrescoemes3256 Totally fair. I still err on the side of deducting nothing but either of our solutions would be better. Thankfully Pavlo looks great and I think he will be back with more opportunities
wtf that was allowed??
Yes he got the down signal from head referee
@@BenBarden98 well if it was magnus and he gave that....i think we need a new one
@@BhomiaG Lol it has always been him 🤣🤣🤣
I bet the TV team loves his enthusiastic personality 😊
Also the dude walks like he has a built-in 80" TV 😁
All the guys have huge upper backs
I try to like him but I can`t ,....he is just to full of himself..He acts like a 15 year old showoff....

@@stevenmacinnis418 I feel like that's just his persona.
I'd love to see Hooper, he got that one too, just for comparison. Like other said, there was no lockout there.
I will upload that lift next 👍🏼
Also no lockout. Strong enough win overall that it doesn't matter imo
eddie shows it
it was ugly

It was clearly briefly locked out. You don’t hold these dumbbells at lockout bro
@@joebot9309 yes yoou do I am in this sport to and it is suposed to be 100prosen tlocked out
Thank's Ben for this nice video
You're welcome man! I was very lucky to be able to witness
@@BenBarden98 I Ben, i'm very happy for you, it's so nice, you was very lucky to see the WSM Events, i hope can do the same soon
Yea im no judge but I’ve seen better lock outs not get the down signal ?how was this ??
That’s not a proper lockout
Well, as long as the referee is consistent, I suppose it works, but... should probably be more strict than that, honestly.
GREAT EVENT
Lmao his dad must of been the judge ffs. Seen straighter roundabouts
a great show man 😅
he never locked out PERIOD
Was a soft down signal but I absolutely love it when Evan gets absolutely hyped up
let's watch that again
Probably not a lock out. But if the judge gives it to you. Take it! I have gotten away with way worse in competition.

I love Evan as a competitor, but that wasn't a lock out...
Bad call. He might have got it, but the down signal was too soon.
It happens.
this pure circus........never a lock out....
It sure looked like a lockout to me, he got that loft, dropped it, simple.
He needs to go to the wwe sure acts like it.
I wouldn't have counted that, but I'm not the judge. He did well. Might make the podium next year.

T-Rex 🦖
Wish I was there to see the stones, but hes getting that podium.
Was Magnus the referee? This should not count 😅
He was
It seemed a lockout for 1.5 seconds, it's just such a heavy weight that it moves away from you?
That wasn’t Locked out?
This and Hooper's should have been No Lifts, very bad judging this year.
I couldn't lift this but so far the technique is horrible. They need to make it lighter. Technique was better at the Shaw Classic with the 240.
It was lighter 10 years ago. It just gets heavier and heavier.
Why make it lighter, its awful when it's too light
I didn’t see lockout or control on this or hoopers lift. Sorry to say.
Didn't look like a good rep
Hard call for the referee to make in the moment
Next year Evan can win wsm, he already have improved a lot in the last year. He blows Tom Stoltman out the water any day of the week
Not every event tho, but Even was by far my favourite athlete at WSM this year, Tom is better than Even by a lot on the log, deadlift and stones. loading its tough separate them
There was no locout
This was no lift. A gifted lift. Anyway I dont care.
Не було фіксації.підсуджують
This is 😂😂😂joke
Lotta complaining in the comments, but watch the lift from start to finish, the lockout was there. I think good call.
no lift
Looks bad at normal speed but .25 looked good 🤷
that was mucho ropey ....
Nope.
3 refs, just like powerlifting
Borderline i seen them.make guys hold it steady longer.
no lift bro....
That’s the worst lift I’ve ever seen

При всій повазі до Евана...але чіткої фіксації не було! Явно організатори протягують американських атлетів ((

This was a pretty bad angle but that was locked out. Only for about .3s but lockout none the less.
Yeah man tough to get a good enough spot for a camera angle. My wife and I stood waiting for 3 hours before the event started
@BenBarden98 that sounds like it sucks but at least you were able to allow us to see this amazing lift. Enjoy the rest of the competition my friend.
That was never locked and more importantly never under control,
