The unpredictability of strongman is one of the reasons I love it! Just look at the Arnold’s. Luke was second last in the log and Wide Pavlo was bottom of table on deadlift. Find me someone who says they thought that would happen and I’ll call them a liar!
Love Eddy. I hope his life and training are headed in an upward trajectory as he has great potential and is an awesome person.
Eddie has phenomenal charisma and character, and I wish all the best, yet this field is wicked strong.
It’s going to be tough… Eddie has the skills, so I can’t wait to see what happens!
I wish they just had all 30 athletes doing all 10 events. I'm sure Eddie will keep up the entertainment even if he does go out early.
It's more impressive to say you came in third in your heat than saying you came in 27th place over all
@@berzerkbankie1342 Agreed. It also makes it more exciting to have a finals with 10 guys. Just wish they'd have a stones event in the heats for all competitors and then send the top two through.
If it weren’t for the difficult logistics, I think it could be fun. It would basically just be a losers bracket. Let the guys run things a little later or in a different sequence just to let them all compete if they want to. They put in the training time and they’re all there already. Plus, you can see how athletes who got a bad series of events for the qualifier, or were in a stacked group would’ve done had they made it to finals.
Eddy and Pa together make for great entertainment

I just thought of an interesting idea for the stone-off because sometimes 3rd place won with 2nd having much more points
What if they made a rule that if 2nd is 4-5 points ahead that the stone off won't happen because the first 2 pulled so far ahead that 3rd wouldn't mathematically qualify even if they came 1st in an event vs last for 2nd.
He will be a star win or win😁👍⭐️

Eddie Williams will be lucky to advance beyond the group stage. Only if a couple stronger guys get injured part way through would he have a chance. However, I'm glad we have an Australian representing the country he was selected from at WSM this year.
It's too bad the fingals fingers isn't in the group stage, I could see Eddie doing quite well in that event as well
If personalities won points, Eddie would be right up there. But then most of the guys seem really nice. That’s a tough one.

@@erebus79 I see what you are saying but I was referring to comments attacking competitors. For example questioning if certain women are in fact bio males. We don't need them sort of comments. Like loz and liz have have said a few times you dont have to like the womens side of the sport but there is no need to be rude about them.

He actually pretty good strongman definitely getting better
They probably want an Aussie in there for representation. I agree that his numbers aren't very impressive but if he's the strongest they have in Australia then that's who they will invite. WSM is not the same as other competitions where they will only invite based on performance.
if its worlds strongest man you just get the 2-3 strongest from each nation or else it would be like 4 countries

WSM has always sent out invites based on what they think will make the best TV. Robert Oberst, years ago, was complaining that the #5 strongman in the USA was screwed because there were so many top strongmen in the US. Williams absolutely deserved the invite. He's won an event at WSM, he's a great representative of his non-US country, and his TV entertainment value is through the roof.
