I’m also getting to know various thrift store employees . One manager told me that if she doesn’t know you , she’s more likely to take less stuff from you . And please be sure to check all donations for hazards like needles . She’s actually banned a couple junk removal companies for things like that . She’s trying to make sure her staff and volunteers are not injured . So chat them up 😊

How do you manage calls while being on the truck? I end up missing many.

Yeah I would be at 500 for that, then increase for high dump fees if you have them. The calls... I force myself to answer. Sweating, dirty, whatever. I get airpods and put them in when needed

In this type of service... Seems to need a high population county. 25 miles radius around my home is maybe 125,000 ppl. Vs 45 mins away being at 788,000. What population would you recommend for a healthy junk removal company? What is yours?
For full time and only junk removal it’s said 1 million in population but I would recommend offering other services as well to close the gap. Cleaning, moving etc
Kicking around the idea of doing this. Already have a truck, trailer, land, means of disposal. Only setback I see to starting is that I'm in a low population county. Surrounding counties are low population also. Fuel costs/time on road seems to be a big factor in this endeavor.
For sure, but you can do a couple things. Add a service so you can do more than junk removal and get more business. (moving, cleaning, etc). Make the drive and become the only name out there doing it. Use your land for dumpster rental and go out to find cheap dumpsters or dumpster trailers
A friend of mine wants to enter the field, they have been researching what licenses and permits is needed to start , but no information on line or RUclips?

I started as a sole proprietor. Then a LLC with Lug Stars. Then I converted to inc which is where I am staying now

I only ask bc Id like to start a junk removal as a one man team but eventually if its profitable and its scaling id like to hire ppl. I just dont know which entity would suit me better

Its best to talk to a tax helper for this one. As I understand you can do 1 employee whichever way you go though

Hi what year and how much is your truck? Would u recommend I start with that? I was about to buy f250diesel with trailer.
My truck is a 2023 and was 80k new. I put $10k down. I would definitely recommend gas not diesel but a truck and trailer can work great
@@lugstarsjunkremoval I’m trying to figure out the price value what makes sense. If I buy a used pickup truck it would cost me around 40k and a trailer around 5 to 15k. Both combined ads up .but if I get dump truck even though it’s 80k wouldn’t that make more sense?
@@Flokiboys yes the trouble is trying to find them, there has been a shortage. Also your commercial vehicle insurance will be more bit in my experience it’s so worth it

You have to have a business license - gotta check your city / state / county but no special bonding or contractors license or permit where I am at no its a home service
Insurance is the biggest con I’ve ever seen 😂 they charge you more money for nothing than you make in a quarter 😂
They are acam artists, and you are required to have them. Then they charge you double if you have to use them
You can't get around it, it's required by Government to get more money out of hardworking taxpayers trying to survive in this world.
In other country, government don't intervene when it comes to making a living.
Don't have strict license and permit requirements.
Sometimes not even a business license.
