      @@MrCreepYT lmao I highly doubt he'll make the team for any individual events. adrian didn't make the national team this year in the 100 free, only in the 50 free and dressel and andrew have a lock on that

    • @ericji7226
      @ericji7226 3 года назад +1

      @@sebastianknowles9833 that's not exactly fair to adrian because he was coming back from his cancer last year, but i do agree that it'll be a lot harder for him to make the team this year.
      Dressel alone is guaranteed 1st in the 50 and 100 as long as he doesn't mess up, which means that adrian has to fight for a spot in the 50 with held and andrew, and also has to fight in the 100 with held and apple. He is almost guaranteed a relay spot in the 4x100, but an individual is unlikely

    • @sebastianknowles9833
      @sebastianknowles9833 3 года назад +3

      Eric Ji Nathan Adrian is definitely not guaranteed a relay spot. Last year had so many American men going under 48 that it’s silly. And with over a year since 2019 nationals, where Held and Rooney and Jackson and Farris all asserted themselves as legitimate contenders, think of all the other newcomers who’ll have surely gotten faster. Guys like Daniel Krueger or Robert Howard or Michael Chadwick could easily slip in if someone’s not at their peak. And of course there’s Blake Pieroni and Zach Apple, who’ve both been consistently faster than Adrian the past few years

    • @pluki1357
      @pluki1357 5 лет назад +5

      The 15m mark rule does NOT apply in breaststroke.
      The reasoning is that there is a more strict rule about one arm stroke and one leg stroke underwater. If you manage to swim underwater longer distance than 15 m on that - that's fine :)
      Interestingly, the 15 m rule was first imposed actually for the breaststroke (in 1956) but later abandoned in that stroke.
      15 m rule applies to other strokes (since 1988 - backstroke, since 1998 - butterfly, and freestyle - no clue from when but later :) ).

    Its high time they do away with 25M length pools. The 6 footers will always have a distinct
    advantage. The moment they jump into the pool, they're already half body length ahead
    of the shorter guy even before the first stroke. Its therefore no big deal that European
    swimmer win. When an Asian swimmer wins, then THAT is a real achievement given the
    disadvantage.
