- This video was shot at the famed BBC Maida Vale Studios in London on the day of the release of the first CHIC album in 26 years. This version of “I Want Your Love” may be the best one I have ever heard and the video, the best one I have shot as well from my perspective. It was an incredible performance of this CHIC classic.

The greatest disco-pop song of all times stripped down. A masterpiece.
Nile Rodgers with the same energy as if he just wrote this today
I had tge great pleasure if seeing Nike and Chic at Ludlow UK recently, the 3 hours stsnding in the piuring rain was absolutely worth it, terrific guy fabulous musicians ❤
nile Rogers genius and so freakin cool and in great shape
Stunning. The mike on the camera is picking up the live acoustic plus each individual musician’s fold-back. Raw, and no post-production; this is how Chic really sound. Wish all music vids were like this.
Nice performance by all! I must say, Nile is in better shape than a lot of guys in their 20's No video games and Mountain Dew for Nile!
2:45 Drummer beast mode ON! What a drummer! omg. He has a finger in every pocket available of the groove! Jerry is just fantastic and so is the band! great singing. but i am just in awe of the drummer and Jerry locking in!
@Keenan Malcolm definitely, I've been watching on flixzone for months myself :D
!!! just pure and natural sound !!!
From super CHIC 👍
thank you chic for the free concert that girl can blow...
I like this band! The girls and the bass player are amazing!!
Love CHIC so much
Nobody can replace Benard Edwards, HOWEVER that brotha on bass is making Benard proud 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nile Rogers...you have no idea how good you are...xx
Awesome Producer, too
Its gets better and better love it
Awesome ! Love the lady to the right - she just stepped through a time machine !
1:20 Such an epic group effort - bass run, drum fill, into verse --- Mark: thanks for giving us the up-close view(s) of the band really enjoying their work, and Nile giving the group room to explore the song, stretch it, give it a refresh, build on the skills in the band and make the tunes a living thing. Would be such a shame to have so many talents in the group and then _not_ showcase their gifts. I love this song so much and the band here in Maida Vale are making it shine. Sorry to see Folami is not in the late-2021 line up for shows - her voice shone on the Sledge/Ross tunes and her smile lit up arenas
Thanks Rod. This video and the entire session was one of my all time favorites. While Folami is no longer part of the band, the new vocalist Audrey Martells, is fantastic and lit up arenas during the recent UK tour.
Nile = "The Hitmaker" - you are such-an-influence and Inspiration to me as a Musician. oNe LoVe from NYC
Fantastic band The Best.
Brought that soul!!
Every time I see them I can't help but miss Bernard Edwards a bass guitar legend 🎸
Love it. Nice to see close up of Nile's playing technique. They are incredible live, what a band wow. Thank you for sharing this video Mark!
My pleasure.
Feliz domingo!!! con esta joyaza d los CHIC!........AVE NILE!.....DISCOSALUDOS DESDE LIMA-PERU!
Let that bass rolllllllll!
Espectacular !! Buenisimo !!!
Greatest Band!
Tha Bass player enough said!!!!!!
Now that's what i call a great singer
I like this band! so funky😊👍👍👍
Tout simplement génial 💙💙💙💙
WOW
Nada volta como antes , ainda mais com essas vocalistas. E sem o baixista oficial
Maybe a double masterpiece, yep it is 🎸🎸🎸. 🎧🎧🎧 💯💯💯💯. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👌👌👌
That was slammin!!
5:36 - 5:48 just sick!
Agreed
@@krambam1 No need for 7,8 string guitars and 5, 6, 7, 8 string basses. Those guys can play wonderfully on 1 single string.
Isso que é ensaio!!!
Best ever ever ever ever CHIC replacements : Kimberly Davis & Folami (and of course Sylver Logan Sharp), These ladies get it right. Bad ass singers with the right perfect CHIC Vibe. KIMBERLY DAVIS Blows any mic! Love love love these ladies. Welcome back Audrey Martells.
Go for it ^^
The band sounds great….!
They funked it up a bit!! Bravo!
❤️
i love watching videos over the past 10 years of Nile playing Hitmaker....it seems she has been given such a floggin that since 2010 she has started to lose some of Niles 70s custom paint-job that he did himself on the top shoulder, videos from 2013 start to show paint missing on that top area from the rubbing underneath his right fore-arm going mad 16ths relentlessly across it, 2016 shows more wear, then this video in 2018 wood is clearly present and then in 2022 the rehersal vids show a whole raw wood section the size of your hand there.
Класная песня !
Bernie edwards laid down some of the best basslines ever just a pity he isn't here anymore to play along
BELLI COME IL SOLE
The best version of this tune played live by Chic is the
version played at The Sydney Opera House in December
2013. Go checking it out !
👍👍👍👍👍
I can barely hear that famous bass groove on the A string!
We might need to consider that the way Bernard played the bass was not just playing bass.
I have always referred to it like 'rolling basssss'. It keeps going in the same beat, funky, but strict.
Do miss his sound. Never heard anything alike since he left us way to early.
pa3fat Agreed! That bass was plugged into Bernard Edwards soul ...and though his bass lines really aren’t that hard to play for an accomplished bassist ...nobody looked as good as Bernard wearing a bass!
@@jasonwhite7452 the roxy music class style. Check out AronTheBassist. He's 9. Enjoy.
I made a similar comment without the bass this is not the same song. Terrible mixing or lack of it
Mystery solved it was recorded on somebody's iPhone
Is the girl in green the original girl from Chic? I wonder. I know the rest of the band (beside Nile) have passed
이것이 훵크구나...
후어어엉

I Love the classic Chic sound…..thought the female vocalist was a little extra. Norma and the girls sounded so sexy.
Not the same without original girls!
Chic's vocals were great in the beginning. Sorry to say. Now it seems the singers want to show they can sing. It has to be fresh and brief. Like it was. It was not a jazz band. Sing the lyrics, fresh.
I totally agree. Singer went over the top.
Please speak for yourself, it's live show and not the recording you gotta throw down on the show and live . Trust Nile getting exactly what he wants.
@@rome1205 Its Nile's band. She didn't go over the top, she did what the boss wanted her to do it's a LIVE performance. If Nile didn't want it, it wouldn't be done. Your absolutely right
Some bands play music. Chic show off.
bad sound quality, dam it.
You are only hearing the monitors. This was a feed for radio broadcast. I still find this one of the best recordings embodying the talent of these artists.
@@krambam1 Nobody disputes talent, buddy, I'm old school, but the quality that youtube offers is ridiculous. bye bro.
I'm sorry please keep it original, where is the original sure they are not too busy...
Nile needs to write his daily diet out in a book. And tone down that church singer please.
Is it me or do the drums sound shite...infact it's all to much..noisy performance
Terrible sound quality for studio recording. In this song The prominent Bass what made the whole song is missing. It has no Groove
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that the sound quality of my impromptu iPhone video did not meet your exacting standards. I would no doubt guess that you would have done a job and far better understand the amplification issues that were presented and required for this live radio feed at the BBC. Please post some videos of your "groove" so the band can try to improve. I look forward to more of your interesting analysis.
@@krambam1 maybe you should say it was recorded with your iPhone not "studio session". No need to be a smart-ass
because I don't like it. Thanks for clarifying why it sounds like garbage though
@@Jamesfromnyc Seriously? The audiophile you are must have recognized that the sound on the recording was simply the monitors, not the live feed. I also appreciate your editing suggestions on the verbiage of my post. I am very touched by your continued concern and remain in awe of your intelligence.
