- Another video shot at the famed BBC Maida Vale Studios in London on the day of the release of the first CHIC album in 26 years. The only song which was scheduled to be played was "We Are Family." The second song, "Soup for One," was an impromptu start by Nile. "Like a Virgin" was completely unexpected, and you will see that Jerry Barnes, the bassist had taken off his guitar and left--only to return and finish with another great performance of this song.

Rare to see a producer paying tribute to a band who sampled him. Nile is awesome!

Nile Rodgers is simply a music ever Genius (talent scout, grammy award winner, producer, arranger, composer, singer-songwriter, outstanding guitarist.....indeed... a pop/soul Genius...with the capital G!)
I consistently come back here for the Soup For One>Lady transition and back again.

It would be hard to calculate just how many people this man has touched and made feel good through music. From Chic in the 80's to Daft Punk in the 2000's Nile has been there with The Hitmaker (his beloved 60's era Stratocaster) and that signature chucking groove.
Going to see Chic on 30th November this year in Liverpool. Can't wait. Saw them at Aintree Racecourse back in June. Fantastic. xxx
As a guitarist Nile is one of my heroes. I try very hard to sound like him but boy, is it hard. It's his right hand and how he strums that makes him so unique and hard to copy. And the voicings and chords he chooses is really hard to pick up by ear. Heaven for me would be volumes of guitar sheet music for everything he ever recorded. There's no amount of money I wouldn't pay.

Yea on Nile documentary he admitted they sample the guitar and bass parts but they had speed it up.
