    is there a point where this is not safe for viewing, as its a bad influence on new cavers. As you don't really state and warn at the start of the video this should not really be able to be explored by professionals such as you guys. That rocky room that's held up by that single rock was an extremely dangerous crawl. Im not judging you i love your videos and have watched them all i just think this particular cave was over the limit.

      Yeah this is a pretty small cave. It's part one of six so we end up finding some bigger caves and linking them all together.
      There are very few people who want to find small caves what we are doing is looking for an entrance into a larger cave. im curious, if your light dies, will your eyes adjust enough to make your way out or are you basically blind at that point? that would be nerve wracking to have to feel your way out of a cave, especially the ones you guys have filmed in. id imagine you guys carry backups upon backups of lights just in case.

    • @EvenDarker
      @EvenDarker  Год назад +2

      5 ft in the cave it is Pitch Black and your eyes will never adjust.
      Fortunately the light will never go out. And if it does I'll put new batteries in and if it explodes I'll get out a new flashlight and if that burns down I will use my mechanical lights. And if I run out of energy I will use chemical lights. And if those stop working I will use a match. And if all that fails I will crawl out in the dark.
      I think this only seems like a problem for viewers because it is not a problem in the cave. We also like the darkness so sometimes we intentionally turn off our lights and navigate that way. Just for fun!

      Caveman hikes is our youtube channel. This channel is comprised of videos that we would discard, but decided we would just make a second channel.

      I don't specifically remember, however, almost certainly yes because we went back nine times!
      In this video we found a cave but it was not the cave we were looking for. It took us several trips to find the correct cave and then to really push it out and make good maps of the whole system. It actually took a few months!

    What brand light is the lantern you carry?

    • @EvenDarker
      @EvenDarker  8 месяцев назад

      I generally carry a fenix lr40r. These are no longer produced and the updated model has problems.
      We've been using Wuben lights recently, as well as a big Immalent. Both of those companies make a couple of big huge bright lights.
      Those super high aluminum lights are almost weapons. You have to be very careful not to shine them towards other people. But they will cost you.

    I've been watching your videos and rewatching them for a while. However, hearing you speak of Jordan the Asshat Peterson is disappointing to say the least. As far as being an intellect, seriously? Here in Toronto he is pretty much a social outcast - not because of his scary intellect, but because he craves attention to the point that he insults the common persons intelligence. Might be petty but you've lost my respect and a subscriber. Good luck.

      @@EvenDarker i don't want to reignite or add to this, but i just want to say as a huge fan of your channels for the past 6ish months having caught up on most of the backlog at this point (and as a millennial leftist transgender person [not joking] who believes that both jordan peterson and the ideologies and opinons he shares to be vile, inhumane, and despicable), i had no idea until now that we differ so drastically in certain beliefs and ideologies, and that does not bother me in the slightest.
      i greatly appreciate that (regardless of your political/sociological/etc beliefs) your content has remained completely neutral in that regard for all these years. what you do and what you share with us is enjoyable and inspiring and i'm looking forward to your next video.

      @@MtFtPI'm so glad you said that because the first commenter was a complete dog turd But I will say I have no problem in the slightest with him sharing any of his societal views. People are allowed to have opinions. Now I honestly think since you shared your opinion I'll share mine I think you're a goof troop. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness not a way of life. Go Trump. Jordan Peterson is the man. I especially love what he's trying to do with with trying to compete with the world economic forum and Klaus Schwab by starting their own sensible and sane organization that actually cares about people and not just trying to make us eat bugs and drive crappy smart car electric vehicles. Obama wanted us driving around in Steve urkel cars now Klaus Schwab wants us living in 15 minute sections of town and eating bugs. Never to drive across the state again for a vacation. Most of you people aren't willing to eat two cold meals a day and turn off your air conditioning. You really need to figure your crap out. Just saying. But it's not a politics channel so yeah maybe it is a good thing he keeps it pretty neutral but he's absolutely fine to share his beliefs occasionally if he wants to. If you wanted to he could say it everyday. I don't think he would miss y'all as viewers to be honest 🤷🏼
