    Oh I am so picky with my ranch I cannot stand 99.9% of the bottled ranch especially if it tastes like mayo. I like making it but I had to use the package of seasoning. I have always wanted a really good ranch recipe. I am so happy you posted this!

      @Shadow Kissed @Jamie JunkJournals - You guys who don’t like mayo flavor, probably are just like me. I couldn’t stand that flavor, and also found it too heavy and a bit nauseating, so I didn’t have any such dressing for years. And 5+yrs ago, I also started eating plant based. You guys really should try making dressings with Hellman’s VEGAN mayo - it is fantastic! It is just perfect, so much lighter and doesn’t have that mayo flavor so many can’t stand❣️I use it with a little plant milk to adjust consistency and add whatever flavor I want - it is great every time. As I said, I didn’t eat any for years, until I tried making a dressing for burgers and to dip sweet potato chips in and just tried it. I just love how they come out. One favorite is the mayo with a good squirt of BBQ sauce (tomato based w/chili, liquid smoke, molasses, sugar etc) and a little salt to taste, fab alternative to Thousand Island and Hamburger Dressing (similar to TI, but with dill). Also, add some blue cheese (or vegan replacement) to the mayo and a little plant milk, then salt/pepper to taste and blend smooth (or dissolve the cheese in a little mayo&milk first, then when it is smooth, gradually add more milk&mayo until the cheese is nicely distribuated). Adding e.g. French’s yellow mustard or other you like, and salt&pepper to taste and a dash of maple syrup, makes a delicious sauce for sandwiches and also burgers! Yum, yum, triple yum❗️❗️❗️😋 It is real easy to make vegan mayo as well, but I am so happy for Hellman’s version, so easy and convenient and keeps nicely in the fridge, often longer than you’d think, so... Check it yourself, don’t go by the date stamp, it is just a «best before». 😊

      @@BillyRebel-e3g I would take that bet. I can tell the difference between several bottled ranch. Such as Kraft ranch uses to much mayo so it taste like mayo to me. not all ranch is made the same. I have tried 15+ different ranch makers when I was trying to find the ones I liked. Even hidden valley tastes different between its bottled ranch and its "ranch seasoning packs" that let you make the ranch yourself by adding milk and mayo. Kens tastes different between the bottles of ranch you buy at the grocery store and the packets you get from fast food restaurants (if i have to use premade ranch I prefer the kens packets). McDonald's Kens ranch packets tastes different from all the other Kens ranch's (I do not like it McDonald's or their ranch packs). All together I prefer the "home" ranch that most most restaurants offer in their salad bar's or on their salads. It is all about ingredients and how much of what is used that makes the taste of the dressing.

    Oh my goodness. I made this yesterday.....late in the day. I did have a salad using this & I can't thank you enough for making a salad dressing I've been looking for. I'm not going to buy the store stuff any more. They all put way too much vinegar in all of them and I don't care for that much vinegar.......but if that's all you've got to choose from that's what you use. I did come up with a version of my own recipe but YOURS puts mine to shame. You said you worked really hard on perfecting this recipe & it shows. I was using it as a dip on some won ton crisps today & couldn't stop! Thank you so so much for having such a passion to share your talent with all of us. I made another ranch recipe the other week and it was ok but to me taste too vinegary lol I think putting the vinegar and lemon juice gives this recipe the perfect acidic balance along with the creaminess of the ranch as well.
    Thanks so much❤️

  • @DeborahWaltenburg
    @DeborahWaltenburg 2 года назад +1

    I did add the vinegar and lemon juice according to the recipe, but I find the flavor a bit TOO vinegary/lemony? O.O I did add another 1/2 tsp of salt to try to counteract the bright sour flavor. I think next time, I will try cutting back on the measurement of the vinegar and add just a slight splash of lemon juice. All in all, though, it's a gorgeous dressing, and I am used to a less sweet, more savory dairy-free ranch that I've been making for the past four years. As you said, if the flavor isn't spot on, I can always use it for chicken :) Thank you for all your glorious recipes. Your hard work, knowledge, and creativity are a gift! 💋

    I wanted to tell you thank you very much. I stumbled across you and this video by accident. It is super cute you and your sister I love it. I made the range today and it is the first time I have made ranch dressing and it actually tastes like ranch dressing. Thank you thank you thank you! I am my husband are doing keto so I was trying to follow some keto recipes which were okay but didn't have that unique ranch taste. The only things I did different to help me with keto was instead of using regular sugar I used erythritol and believe it or not I actually took my cream and made buttermilk from scratch by making butter and using the residue for the buttermilk for the recipe. So it's been an eventful day and I feel like I've conquered the world but I am so excited I will use this all the time cuz we are big ranch people so thank you thank you thank you. Keep producing these awesome videos in the two of you guys are adorable.

    Watching you too makes me so sad and happy at the same time. My sister and I enjoyed making things together in the kitchen whenever she was in town. She is no longer with us. She was my best friend. I imagine her with me sometimes like you too together in the kitchen. I miss her so much. I’m happy to see two sisters with a bond like ours. Enjoy each other

    I love that this has less mayo because I love ranch but hate mayo taste. I added
    a bit of Worcestershire and Tabasco and your recipe is perfection. You can also use xanthan gum to thicken for veggie dip.

    Found the channel and recommendation for this Ranch recipe in the comment section of a totally unrelated channel but reading all the comments here has convinced me to try this recipe myself..
    Here in the Netherlands we don't really have or know ranch dressing and the one brand of condiments that makes a version of ranch was absolutely disgusting..
    I will edit this comment with the results 😻

    I was doing a random search for Ranch and saw you made a video and it's the only one I clicked on. I've made so many of your recipes so I know this ranch is the bomb!

    Delicious recipe. I substituted the creams, and mayo for just yogurt. It was delicious and a lot of less calories.

    Hello ladies, first and foremost, you girls are awesome! I was a tomboy growing up so it was too late when I realizes I should have hung out with my grammas instead of the boys, cousins, and granpa. By the time I was in my teens I realized I loved to cook, but, yes, but, I lost out on my grammas', both were fantastic cooks and n both very different. S9 you have helped me connect with the recipes of my childhood. And with those basics I have tweeked some recipes to taste more like my grammas'. So this ranch recipe turned out fabulous, I expected no less.... 😃 That being said I have something for you to try. Have you made homemade mayonnaise? I had just made it and thought of ranch dressing so I used your ranch recipe and my homemade mayo to make it, and guuuuuuurrrrrlll it was the bomb!!! Here's the mayo recipe: 2 whole eggs, 1/2 tsp salt or to taste, 1/4 tsp pepper, 2 TBL apple cider vinegar, 1 TBL Dijon or any mustard, 2 1/4 canola oil or your preferred oil, mix in a quart sized container for about 2 minutes 9r you see it has been imjulsified. I used an immersion blender. Hope you try this, you won't regret it! happy cooking friends
