    Thank you for your site tour Dave & Helen. Was hoping you would show the CL part as it looks very nice on the site map with large generous pitches. I love Edinburgh rock and Gail loves fudge 😋. Never been to Wells but it looks a very attractive seaside town. Hope Zoltar brings good fortune your way 🤩. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀

      Hi Rob & Gail, lovely site, apologies I didn’t get to the CL part, I had my good shoes on and it was a little muddy 😂. We met Phil & Diane, a couple of our subscribers with the same caravan as us and they said the pitches on the CL were huge and beautifully kept. Next time you’re in Norfolk you must visit Wells, beautiful place and amazing coastal walks around that area and very close to Holkham Hall. Hope you’re both well. Helen & Dave 👍

    As a wannabe carravanee in the next year, that is something that I am very wary of since I queued for hours in the 80's on the A30 nr Oakhampton to witness what looked like the aftermath of an explosion in a match factory. It was clear two caravans had clipped (I never saw the vehicles)

    Something that struck a chord with me the other day, when talking to a caravan site owner. She reckons that the joint between the vertival side panel and roof can be compromised and cause leaks if an awning is attached too tightly with straps tightened too much or storm straps, or if the side panels undergo undue tention caused by the awning in higher winds pulling too tightly ?

    • @HelenandDave
      @HelenandDave  6 месяцев назад +1

    • @stehume
      @stehume 6 месяцев назад +1

      How odd, I was only thinking this a couple weeks ago when setting up, I have an alutec Bailey and not sure if you know how they are held together, but after pulling the storm straps I did think I wonder if it puts stress on the clamps and bolts

    • @stevezodiac491
      @stevezodiac491 6 месяцев назад +2

      @stehume picked out from a forum on this subject.- Any flexing and movement that happens seeks out the weakest part of the structure which is where the roof is joined to the walls and where the floor is joined to the sides. If a sufficiently strong bond is made at these points then water ingress at those points is unlikely. If the bonding is not strong enough then the sealant will eventually allow ingress. - Looks like they are just glued together with internal furniture a vertical supports also maintaining form. Doesn't sound very durable to me, in my view, like my caravan that has leaked because of aged and shrivelled sealant, under the awning rails, it is just a matter of time before transporting flex or awning pull etc. causes leaks at this point.

      @@HelenandDave you nearly lost your collection of hoovers there..
      If it was a big lorry on a fast oversteer it would have been a rip torn and a problem with insurance payout…

      There are a couple of passing places but they are strict on timings of vans in and out so the worst you would meet is a car. It’s deffo tight though 👍😊
