I always loved how realistic Lightspeed felt. The government commissioned the program, their identities aren't a secret. Made me feel like this could be a legitimate branch of the military.
The once a ranger crossover is the only memorable thing about overdrive. The Adam reveal wearing the OG black suit is one of the best ranger moments for me. He also had some of the best fight choreo in the entire series in suit and out.
Adam being there was the best part. Everything else about that episode was so craptastic that it doesnt even deserve to be called an anniversary title. Forever Red will always be the best Ranger Anniversary episode, though the new one played with some neat stuff
The Nickelodeon Era wins it for me. Simply because I NEVER disliked a Power Rangers season until then. Super Duper Samurai Force has a special place in hell just for existing.

I wasn't a big fan of Operation Overdrive due to how messy the story was. Using the environment around them, blocking a sword and dragging the morpher down the blade, or when the girls used each other to morph. Pretty cool.

Great video!! I love the way you analyze each season without being overly critical. The flaws that you point out are very true as what held each series from being from "meh" to a "mess"
CONGRATZ one more time to the viewer competition winners! And THANK YOU one more time to all who participated! You made these last few weeks very special. Now everyone hurry up and join me on Discord already! :D
Here we go boys! I can't wait for these reviews. As much as I love PR there are some duds in there. I don't hate Overdrive as much as other people do, but I think the dynamic is a bit shoddy. Some others aren't as good as well, but much more to a different extent
Overdrive had to work off Boukenger, which I understand was also quite maligned. The attempts to change yellow's pose into not a parody of a strongman were kind of amusing once you actually knew that was what they were doing.
I think your slightly harsh on Super Dino Charge for its lack of using the auxiliary rangers as much as they could. I feel it runs into budgeting issues similar to SPD and SMF where they had a bigger casts then they could really afford (such as Sam not having a face actor til the last episode, or having to reject so many alumni after inviting them), so something kinda had to give. I'm not saying its wrong that you feel its lacking, but I'm not too sure it was avoidable with having 7 regular rangers and Heckyl as a 'face' villian. Its why I think Kyuranger seems to go so heavy on suited actors for the rangers, like half the team, so that when, now a bit more if, it gets adapted they don't have to try to balance a large human/face cast.
Maybe? But they brought a bunch of one-off characters like Shelby's, Riley's bully. Money that could have been used for episodes dedicated to the extra Rangers. And they brought Phillip in for more episodes anyway where he barely says anything so I doubt the budget was that tight.
Honestly if anything Dino Charge and Super Dino Charge were the best Neo Saban era shows to come out of that era. I haven't seen Dino Fury much so i can't give an opinion on that show but for everything else I've seen if i had to rank the shows from best to worst it would be Dino/Super Dino Charge, Samurai/Super Samurai, and finally Megaforce/Super Megaforce.
I feel like your video title could be altered; as it stands it gives off a wrong impression haha. But other than, I just discovered your channel and watched your Top 10 best PR season video(s). I do so appreciate these introspective review videos, such a good trip down nostalgia. Keep it up man!
Congratulations to the runner ups and winner on Disney Brain's viewer collaberarion contest. The video was amazing as always. And Disney Brain, even if I - long with 1000s of other viewers - didn't win, I'll still read more Chronic Storm & comment on it. Youre a great youtuber and amazing author
I'll always prefer the original Saban era (MMPR-Wild Force) over anything that came after it. RPM and Dino Thunder were the best Disney had to offer though.
It's only like 6/10, great aesthetics and megazords (that goes for Magiranger, which is my fav sentai) Chip, Maddie, Xander, Tobby, Clare, Koragg and Phineas were amazing, the fight choreography was pretty well done, it got a great premise and loved the fact that it felt more reminiscent to the Hobbit/Lord of Rings franchise than it does on Harry Potter but the problem is... is that it too much focus on Nick at times, so the lack of character development is being more obvious, the writting is starting to get more rushed in the latter half of the season, while the final was rather decent, it was pretty rushed, the villains are somewhat generic (baring Koragg and İmperious) and forgettable and the acting could be weak at sometimes.
Dino Supercharge let me down. After Dino Charge was one of the better written parts. Saban showed they could make. Something of high quality....then they shit on it with DinoSuperCharge or whatever. The ending with them failing to stop the destruction of their original Earth made it worse then time traveling in the end sent it over the top. Originally Dino Charge was to be main universe but I guess it was thrown out. So as it progressed then had it's finally I couldn't do it.
To be honestly in Super Dino Charge Heckyl was an interesting villain due to his dual personalities. It reminded me of Mesagog. I wasn’t a fan when he first arrived but the actor won me over. I was mostly disappointed as his arc never resolved in its own right. (It was believe he’d be another Dino Charge Ranger but it was called ranger Killer or something so they took that out so they wouldn’t get sued by parents
Heckly really needed to keep working at the Cafe. At first I didn't mind it ending early, but his stint there did nothing and nobody really brings it up. It just happened. Having him work there longer would build his relationship with the Rangers which would give gravitas when he is revealed and fights them.
Having watched the entirety of Operation Overdrive from Kick into Overdrive all the way to Crown and Punishment. I actually enjoyed it for what it was, even with a couple of issues bursting through the cracks as I sat through it. For me, a lot of the cast felt underdeveloped but had their own moments to shine. I found characters like Mack, Will and Tyzonn quite charming, Rose served as the brains of the team, but the reveal behind why she became a genius was a cop-out and it was confusing, to say the least. Dax had me smiling in certain episodes, based on the overreactive mannerisms Gareth was putting into his performance. But his jokes landed flat and I found him obnoxious after awhile. Ronny feels more like a flat character, in the sense that she has a narrow objective, much in the same vein as Z and Fran. I also found her encouragement speech to Tyzonn quite sweet. The villains were the only saving grace this season: excluding Flurious, Miratrix and Thrax. I actually liked Moltor, Kamdor and the Fearcats, since they tended to be more successful against the rangers. Plus, Mack's battlizer is up there with being the strongest in the series. The reveal of him being an android and the repercussions of going through an existential crisis culminating in him making reckless decisions, as he saw himself being expendable were acted fine. (Even if the drama felt half-baked in those last few moments.) The music is underrated. Though, I won't deny the opening theme could've had better lyrics. The suits are iconic, imo. As for the premise: A season based around Indiana Jones and National Treasure sounded like it would be a blast. I agree that it isn't the best season, far from it. But I'd rather watch Mack knocking around Chillers and Lava Lizards, over Jayden's stoic "I can do it myself" attitude.
Hey!! Give MMPR S3 more credit. It was the first time they actually attempted serialised storytelling(for a full season that is) and multiple arcs. The beginning 4 part Ninja Quest, every early episode with Kat, the 3-part A Different Shade of Pink, and the mini series Alien Ranger saga was, imo, some of the best stories PR had post Green with Evil.
Zeo will definitely be my favorite from the Saban era, but I always enjoyed Mystic Force a lot, I thought it was the most original and different season from PR in being focused on magic and fantasy, as well as bringing the concept of them becoming the zords, that was legitimately cool for me (although if you don't like it, I respect you), and I liked the story and mystery behind Nick and his ancestry, also I remember how I used to look at Vida as the coolest Pink Ranger, ok not at the level of Jen and Kat, but still, I liked her, looking again at Overdrive, I do remember seeing it back in the day as a bit of a mixed bag of ideas, and seeing it again, I can see why some people wouldn't like it, even though the revelation of Mack being a robot was dark, but it does sucks that they didn't explore it forward, and those are my two cents here
Only disagreement I would have is your low ranking of Zeo - it's flawed (even in spite of the behind the scenes nonsense causing issues), but I still have very fond memories of it and think it's one of the best seasons. My worst seasons (including the "Super" seasons) - Megaforce - Ninja Steel - Operation Overdrive - Samurai - Dino Charge (second half really drags it down) Mystic Force, Ninja Storm, Wild Force, Turbo, and Jungle Fury all fall into the "Meh" category - some good moments, but a lot of bad or mediocre.
Zeo is far from perfect but it has a good classic charm to it. It just never got a proper send-off, the jump to Turbo was so abrupt because there were still loose ends Zeo hadn't tied up.
@@jaywest3734 It did get better with a new cast, but even then it's easy to tell that they had the episodes written with the old cast since the new cast is just treated like they were always there.
I think they could left out the head gear in alien rangers. Lightspeed had the most op villian. That the only way queen banshee could be defeated was by her own fallen demons
Since you mentioned that you'd make a video about Beast Morphers in the description, my biggest hope is that the Discount Colourswapped A-Squad (Blaze and Roxie) will be like a fully-realised version of the actual A-Squad: an experienced team of rangers that the villain uses against the heroes, only the writers remember they exist before the finale this time. Also, I'm imagining doing a poorly-drawn-characters-with-synthesised-voices parody of Beast Morphers if I end up liking it. I've heard it doesn't air in the UK until the summer, though. Is this true?
For some reason, this isn't appearing at the top of my "top comments" list (your comments appear at the top), even though all my other comments are. I keep worrying it's vanished into the aether.
Lightspeed Rescue & Zeo shouldn't even be on this list. The problem with Operation Overdrive was that the characters were boring, the theme song sucked & they didn't know how to use the Japanese footage. Also with Mystic Force I blame the sentai season Magiranger because it has A LOT of Red Ranger footage.
@@NitroIndigo Unfortunately I can't answer because I haven't watched Power Rangers since the start of the Nick seasons (and I can't recall the timestamp) but my guess is whichever one gave the most awkward performance in the season he was describing
I may sound crazy what I'm about to say but Power Rangers need someone to go against it. But I would like to see a reboot/remake of Big Bad Beetle Borgs or VR Troopers. Hmmm to think about how about Super Human Samurai and the Cyber Squad.
Neo-Saban's first season, Power Rangers Samurai in 2011 wasn't very good. Mega Force wasn't much better and the 20th-anniversary special, which aired a year late was poor.
Most seasons after Saban sucked. And starting with operation Overdrive really began the descent of the power rangers. Turbo was not anything outstanding but it still better than Post Saban Power Rangers
I used to think RPM was a dumb season but when i actually watched it, it had a great story line and character backstory. I feel like all the newer seasons like megaforce, dino charge, and ninja steel are the worst cause the actors are so cheesy and you can't really relate to it....which is sad cause that means the newer seasons are only getting worse and worse....
Your opinion of Lightspeed rescue is very fair. It’s one of my favorite PR shows because of the characters and awesome weaponry. Also, I loved that they literally fought demons. The issues it presents make it a stark contrast from the previous couple of seasons.
How is it that the seasons with the best Zords and suit designs end up being some of the worst acted, whilst the seasons with the worst designs seem to up their game?
Operation Overdrive is the season the about made me lose interest in show. The theme song sucked, the theme sucks, it was so dismal. Even Turbo, was the crummier series of the terrific 90's Rangers was somewhat decent, but not horrible. OO was horrible it was 100* worse version of Turbo. Operation Overdrive was the fall of Rome for the Power Rangers glory days. Even though Jungle Fury and RPM were better seasons. Also Ninja Storm was very awkward seeing only 3 rangers but it was still kickass
Carter in a worse season listt? Carter is so amazing that the show itself can never be considered bad. Thats how badass Carter was. He punched opinions to facts. Fair points though.
Watched power rangers since I was a kid, I stopped at the Space season. But I did randomly come back for Power Rangers RPM which I really liked. Is RPM considered good in the fan base community?
I love Operation Overdrive!!! I might be in the minority but I don't care!!! Operation Overdrive had a cool story and was fun from start to finish. I can't say the same for Megaforce which was a complete trainwreck.
What would the lost galaxy and light speed rescue be like if they swapped powers, suits, weapons, gear, and zords? Would they be better or worse? What do all of you think?
It was a fun season, no mistake on that, and it surely focused on that theme very well, but I don't think it was used in a stronger advantage that much
Mystic Force, Samurai and Super, and Ninja Steel and Super honestly don't deserve all this hate. Especially Mystic Force and Samurai/Super. After rewatching these I can't see all these hate on them. Yes they got their flaws but these are ones I love.

7: Lightspeed rescue
6: Ninja Storm
5: Dino Thunder
4: Jungle Fury
3: Time Force
2: In Space
1: Lost Galaxy
@Leonardo Leon yeah Kendrix and Karone are my two all time favorite pink Rangers with Kendrix having a slight edge on the ranking in my eyes
Lightspeed Rescue - Still a good season though, especially they have a true exclusive sixth ranger (and not the one shot black ranger in the GoGo V movie)
Dino Charge - Decent season, decent fun
Zeo - It's not bad, it makes the justice right from the decent Ohranger and how Tommy and Jason badass in that season
Mystic Force - Not a bad season, but I don't like is the red ranger Nick becoming the focus of the show
Dino Super Charge - Worst half with the worst finale (Because dinosaurs are met to be extinct)
Operation Overdrive - Everything are the worst; the theme song, the crossover two parts, bad story and bad characters, it's the second worst anniversary season ever

I would love a Hyperforce Review!

U suck as utuber u should shut it down ur carp to much that in world don't need more discord is crap as well very easy hack it
I'm so glad that the Vypra Tommy Wiseau comparison came back 😂
Here we go boys!
Ninja Storm was my first Dino Thunder was my favorite
Overdrive is not the worst season. For my money it would be Samurai.
That's just part 1 . I bet samurai will be in part 2
@@godot8694 good point 😁✨
And megaforce.
Nah.....Megaforce takes the frosting on that.
Megaforce is the worst for me
I think your slightly harsh on Super Dino Charge for its lack of using the auxiliary rangers as much as they could.
Lightspeed Rescue is actually good, and Titanium ranger never appeared in GogoV so that's my favourite part
Shelby is definitely the best of the last 5 years.
The love for MForce and O.O. is misguided.
I nearly dropped my phone when I saw Dino Super Charge.
Also...Mystic Force is a good season.
Operation Overdrive had the worst plot twist
I can't stop thinking about wizard Jayden
I'll always prefer the original Saban era (MMPR-Wild Force) over anything that came after it. RPM and Dino Thunder were the best Disney had to offer though.
Who was responsible for Ninja storm
Mystic Force is one of the best seasons
I really agree.
It and SPD were the first I saw, so I totally agree
"Saban showed they could make. Something of high quality?" I don't know if i should laugh or cry.
Therapist: wizard Jayden isn't real he can't hurt you
Wizard Jayden: stares directly at your soul
Wow two ads at the start and the first isn't skippable?
(Even if the drama felt half-baked in those last few moments.)
The music is underrated.
A problem with the lightspeed rescue villains was also bad timing- they came after Astronema/Trakeena and a year before Ransik.
Yeah. The concepts of demons as enemies was pretty awesome. The villains just weren’t fleshed out very well. I still love the series.
Lmao I lost my shit when you put Troy and Jayden up when you were talking about Dino Charge!
8:30 Excuse me "holds mouth" pass me a bucket cause that episode can't say the title but ugh god
Zeo will definitely be my favorite from the Saban era, but I always enjoyed Mystic Force a lot, I thought it was the most original and different season from PR in being focused on magic and fantasy, as well as bringing the concept of them becoming the zords, that was legitimately cool for me (although if you don't like it, I respect you), and I liked the story and mystery behind Nick and his ancestry, also I remember how I used to look at Vida as the coolest Pink Ranger, ok not at the level of Jen and Kat, but still, I liked her, looking again at Overdrive, I do remember seeing it back in the day as a bit of a mixed bag of ideas, and seeing it again, I can see why some people wouldn't like it, even though the revelation of Mack being a robot was dark, but it does sucks that they didn't explore it forward, and those are my two cents here
I still can’t believe that Bridge was red... like Sky being the red ranger would make sense (but Jack would of been better), but Bridge? No!
Only disagreement I would have is your low ranking of Zeo - it's flawed (even in spite of the behind the scenes nonsense causing issues), but I still have very fond memories of it and think it's one of the best seasons.
My worst seasons (including the "Super" seasons)
- Megaforce
- Ninja Steel
- Operation Overdrive
- Samurai
- Dino Charge (second half really drags it down)
Mystic Force, Ninja Storm, Wild Force, Turbo, and Jungle Fury all fall into the "Meh" category - some good moments, but a lot of bad or mediocre.
Zeo is far from perfect but it has a good classic charm to it. It just never got a proper send-off, the jump to Turbo was so abrupt because there were still loose ends Zeo hadn't tied up.
The second half of Turbo was actually incredible in my opinion.
@@jaywest3734 It did get better with a new cast, but even then it's easy to tell that they had the episodes written with the old cast since the new cast is just treated like they were always there.
@@JCBro-yg8vd I'm not sure that's the case. There were going to be different storylines before Tommy and the others left.
Anyone else love that Overdrive is the thumbnail? XD
Um for the intro, youve missed Beast Morphers.
Youre the best
I think they could left out the head gear in alien rangers.
Lightspeed had the most op villian. That the only way queen banshee could be defeated was by her own fallen demons
"A bunch of obnoxious randos that showed up just because they heard music."
Ha! Best line I've heard all day.
Why lightspeed rescue?
Is a good season and carter is one of the best red rangers ever
He didn't said it as terrible, it just missed the top 10. Think of it has an honorable mention.
11 -14 are honorable mentions
Once a Ranger was the only saving grace of Operation Overdrive
Man you always know how to hit home with these videos. I love this channel!!!!
Power Rangers Jungle Fury was my favourite
Mine too there was so much cool stuff about it and the fight scenes were always awesome
Jungle fury really is the best to me
Lightspeed Rescue & Zeo shouldn't even be on this list. The problem with Operation Overdrive was that the characters were boring, the theme song sucked & they didn't know how to use the Japanese footage. Also with Mystic Force I blame the sentai season Magiranger because it has A LOT of Red Ranger footage.
"To say nothing of their female interpretation of Tommy Wiseau."
Who?
Tommy Wiseau is famous for his "so bad it's good" movie, The Room
I know who Tommy Wiseau is, but who was the female interpretation?
@@NitroIndigo Unfortunately I can't answer because I haven't watched Power Rangers since the start of the Nick seasons (and I can't recall the timestamp) but my guess is whichever one gave the most awkward performance in the season he was describing
@@NitroIndigo he's talking about Vypra and her TERRIBLE acting the entire season
@@MrEnKaye Okay.
I may sound crazy what I'm about to say but Power Rangers need someone to go against it. But I would like to see a reboot/remake of Big Bad Beetle Borgs or VR Troopers. Hmmm to think about how about Super Human Samurai and the Cyber Squad.
"And speaking of dissapointing..."
(The shot of DSC finale for a few seconds, then proceeding into the Overdrive)
Well done, sir :D
All these Battle For The Grid videos in my history finally made an impact.
Pissed me off that Megaforce and Super Megaforce ignored the fact that SPD and RPM are set in the future.
You meant “set in a different dimension” for RPM.
Neo-Saban's first season, Power Rangers Samurai in 2011 wasn't very good. Mega Force wasn't much better and the 20th-anniversary special, which aired a year late was poor.
I loved power ranger samurai it was a great season
Poor is a HUGE compliment for SMF. it's a pure, utter clusterfuck
Shan Chaudhry Actually what really needed more attention in both seasons of Megaforce was the writing
Most seasons after Saban sucked. And starting with operation Overdrive really began the descent of the power rangers. Turbo was not anything outstanding but it still better than Post Saban Power Rangers
@@djhuff1992 most of the Disney seasons sucked.
Wizard Jason was just to funny 😂😂😂😂😂
Sorry but I don’t agree with Dino charge
Me too
Thanks for the honorable mention! Waiting for part 2!
Your opinion of Lightspeed rescue is very fair. It’s one of my favorite PR shows because of the characters and awesome weaponry. Also, I loved that they literally fought demons. The issues it presents make it a stark contrast from the previous couple of seasons.
The worst are the ones who wanted be serious instead of worshipping the weirdness.
How is it that the seasons with the best Zords and suit designs end up being some of the worst acted, whilst the seasons with the worst designs seem to up their game?
You probably already answered this question but what are your thoughts on Beast Morphers so far?
Operation Overdrive is the season the about made me lose interest in show. The theme song sucked, the theme sucks, it was so dismal. Even Turbo, was the crummier series of the terrific 90's Rangers was somewhat decent, but not horrible. OO was horrible it was 100* worse version of Turbo. Operation Overdrive was the fall of Rome for the Power Rangers glory days. Even though Jungle Fury and RPM were better seasons. Also Ninja Storm was very awkward seeing only 3 rangers but it was still kickass
OK, good for you
Carter in a worse season listt? Carter is so amazing that the show itself can never be considered bad. Thats how badass Carter was. He punched opinions to facts.
Fair points though.
Watched power rangers since I was a kid, I stopped at the Space season. But I did randomly come back for Power Rangers RPM which I really liked. Is RPM considered good in the fan base community?
Yes. In fact, it’s generally agreed to be one of, if not the best season of PR.
7:09 Our Lord And Savior
Everything after SPD... Beast Morphers is pending review
@Zachary Foster Decent? Jungle Fury and RPM were fantastic
Ninja Steel was great
Rpm and jungle fury is amazing
I love Operation Overdrive!!! I might be in the minority but I don't care!!! Operation Overdrive had a cool story and was fun from start to finish. I can't say the same for Megaforce which was a complete trainwreck.
Completely agreed
@@N_Bhattacharya Thanks!!!
I loved it too
Agreed 100%
Megaforce was better than Operation Overdrive
What would the lost galaxy and light speed rescue be like if they swapped powers, suits, weapons, gear, and zords? Would they be better or worse? What do all of you think?
Personally I really like operations overdrive ..... It's fun tho , new quest and finding treasure......
It was a fun season, no mistake on that, and it surely focused on that theme very well, but I don't think it was used in a stronger advantage that much
I love how you give the good and the bad of the seasons keep up the good work!
I like dino super charge and dino charge. So i dont think it dezerves to be on the list. I agree with others though.
Hey, mystic Force was pretty creative and I freaking loved ZEO!
Mystic Force, Samurai and Super, and Ninja Steel and Super honestly don't deserve all this hate. Especially Mystic Force and Samurai/Super. After rewatching these I can't see all these hate on them. Yes they got their flaws but these are ones I love.
