  • In this video I talk about some steps I am taking/plan to take in order to end my break in outdoor and landscape photography. 2020 was a bit of a crazy year with a pandemic, leaving a job and moving countries. I found myself with less and less time to get out with my camera alongside a dip in motivation. Even just making this video was a step in the right direction of becoming excited about content creating again. I decided to share my thoughts in hope it may motivate someone else to keep pushing forwards also. Thank you for watching as always, the channel and photography support is always very much appreciated.

I've spent the day binge watching your videos, probably the most informative and entertaining box set I've ever watched. I love the way you explain the thought processes behind your choice of subject and your decision making process as well as the fun aspects of your videos. I, like you am sometimes devastated by the felling of trees but often - when trees are planted in straight rows they are destined at some point to become timber. Too often woodlands disappear and are never replaced. So sorry to see the demise of your loved Nikon D750. Myself I have just restarted to a digital camera a Nikon D3500 and find all the options just too daunting sometimes!

Yep, I've forgotten the memory card before now. Had everything else, but.
Now it lives in my camera, and a spare in the bag.

Thank you! Absolutely, sometimes getting back out seems like the hard part but once you do, it all just starts to fall back into place!

:D At least i'm not the only one who forgets cards or batteries at home, especially when we go on scheduled 2 day trip to mountains. Thanks for the video ;)

As to your "try a new type of photography"…yes, I would say that shooting a roll of 120 film in a 35mm camera is a new type, all right! Seriously, that was an excellent "Easter egg" - it wasn’t until a second or two later that I started thinking "Wait a minute…did I just see what I thought I saw?" and had to scroll back in the video to confirm it. 😂

"You don't do that sort of thing..."...not likely!!! I've gone out on several occasions and forgotten to stick a memory card in my camera😝 Spent one whole trip down to the local park and thought I had some really good pics. Only to finally notice the "no card" warning right when I was about to walk home!! Needless to say I wasn't impressed, but I had a good laugh later on😊
Right now, I can't do too much since I have a cold , but it wouldn't surprise me the next time I go out I'm "carrying" bits of kitchen with me. Like a tea towel or something similar, hung absentmindedly over my shoulder😝😝🤣 Done that before. My brother did that awhile ago after going to uni, one day, with a tea towel over his left shoulder. Was out there all day before someone asked about it!!!😝🤣 Runs in the family.

Enjoyed this video Courtney! With RUclips I also have ups and downs and often need a 'kick in the a**' to get myself motivated again, this video has actually helped me in that regard, to be excited again. You're great at putting these videos together, love the broll, and thanks for the reminder at the end on the battery/SD card... of course... I've never forgotten those things 😂

Why am I sitting here watching you, you're cute information and inspiring. That said, I still don't find dairy farms very picturesque. Not much else around here to shoot.

Good to see you back here :-)
Sadly my country is currently on lockdown, and due to the current restrictions I would only be able to go to some nearest parks, but those are tiny city parks which in addition our municipality decided to renovate all at once, so sadly I don't have many opportunities now, but last week I did some shoots of some birds and other things from my window, editing them was fun though revealed how much of lack of light some photos struggled with ;-)
Enjoy your local area! it looks really nice (and since you showed a map we sort of know where it is, don't worry I won't got there at night and search for you haha, maximum if I'll go to the UK again in the future I'll bring a pack of chocolate and ask you ahead if it's possible to meet)
Anyways, as always great work and you actually add to my inspiration, so thanks again!

I started doing beach hiking during the pandemic and took up bird photography something I had rarely done before. It caused me to upgrade my camera equipment with a new faster focus lens and camera body with more focus points.

From May of '21 to July of '22 I don't think I touched my cameras. I've been out a few times these last six weeks. It's slowly coming back but it will never be like it was. When I get through with this project I'll know if there is more for me. That year was my forced break and I can say I almost did not start again.

At 5:11 you see the rare UK Chihuahua, in its natural wild environment. With its ears perked waiting for its next Pokéblock to nibble on.
