IRS E-Motor Emulator for Automotive Inverter Testing

Automotive inverter testing requires simulation of a motor under the realistic load conditions. Especially in lifetime test, where several devices under test must be tested in parallel, a cost-efficient solution for simulation of electrical motors is essential.
Automotive inverters are operating at voltages up to 1000V, currents up to 700A, and power up to 500kW. This high power must be simulated efficiently, with low current drawn from the grid.
IRS provides a unique motor emulator, which simulates the real load condition to the inverter, while only losses of the system need to be provided. A compact and cost-efficient setup makes sure that the system fits well into the customer’s test field in terms of space and budget.
