Johns character arc as a non believer then flipped completely with the loss of his daughter and knowing he’s lying to himself in what he believing. You hear the hurt in his voice when he says tell me i’m crazy cause he can’t go on believing his daughter is still alive. He has to accept Evie is dead.
I love this scene!! What's the name of the beautiful song? It's awesome!! It sure sounds like Max Richter... It's from Season 1 or 2 Soundtrack or hasn't it been released yet?
I love this show to death but I'm sorry to say this. John and Laurie getting together felt forced and woke. If the writers were going to shove a biracial couple then it should have been Michael and Jill, who had development. John and Laurie never even talked to each other in season 2. There's no believable way they could have ended up together. Pathetic to see John's character do *NOTHING* for season 3.
"there's no believable way they could've ended up together" that's a bit of an exaggaration dont you think? Did you forget there was a 3 year time skip between season 2 and 3? This had nothing to do with being woke, not everything involving black people is woke lol
@@peterumathum4903 Besides the relationship argument, I'm sad that John's character did nothing during the final season. I was saddened to see Ericka gone because the actress was amazing and so was John's actor, so I was happy to see him stay but at the end of the day, his character during the final season was completely forgettable. They changed the character's personality so much, they made him wear glasses. Felt like a whole different character then the John I liked.
@@fathergabrielstokes4706 financing. HBO really were behind this show but it just wasn't getting the ratings. So 8 episodes for Mr. Lindenof was the compromise.. some chstsctogot basically chopped ( Jill, Tom). Others got sidelined.
@@fathergabrielstokes4706 this final season wasn't really John's story. It was Kevin and Nora's and Kevin Sr. And I would argue the other characters did get something nice. But Jill and Tom really didn't have anything else to do. Tom left the GR and became a cop. Jill went to college and was never really wrapped up in any of this. John and Laurie is perfect thematically. They've both been through intense trauma and never reconciled with it to the extent they should have. So instead they had this fake dead relative gimmick so they could both hold onto that instead of confronting their feelings. In the end they both have to face those uncomfortable truths and move on.
Every. Single. Episode of this show had scenes that were better than other shows best moments.

One of my favorite scenes when he goes 'we can all go home and forget all this, cause I can still shred it.'
How every actor in this episode didn’t win a emmy is beyond me.
“I want her to know that she was loved” 😢😢😢
My second favorite scene in the series, the first being Kevin and Laurie saying goodbye.
were all gone
This episode was crazy good.
I keep coming back to this scene
God I keep coming back to this scene, THE FEELS MAN THE FEELS ARE REAL.
Remember Laurie's philosophy was to never tell a crazy person that they're crazy. With Kevin she always indulged his delusions.
Poor Stephen A Smith 😂
😂

D. Georgiev thanks!! It is powerful :D

Also I would argue that John becoming different works because he doesn't understand what has happened at the end of S2
