I did the same to my 2012. A big improvement for cheap. I'd suggest lightly sanding the inside of the plastic panels to promote better adhesion, and using a caulking gun with a tube of black window and door caulk which is meant for plastic. Lay down a fairly thick bead. I used almost a half a tube per panel, and they are never falling off.
I found that removing the panels is easier to secure the glue as gravity works in your favor rather than against you. Also, I placed ankle weights all over the entire insert which worked great as they are flexible and the weight is evenly dispersed and works great with the uneven surface! Sweet Mustang!

@IRrandom12321 they have a few screws then you lift up and off. You have to remove the side mirror cover and there is some removable trim around the door handle that hide some screw if I’m not mistaken.
What did you use to get all the old damn glue off the actual plastic door panel before the new insert? I am doing mine now but the glue used by ford is some hardy stuff
I used a welding wire brush. I guess if you have a slow grinder you could use a wire wheel on that also. Just have to be careful to not burn through it.
Just wanted to make sure you I'm doing this correctly; my vinyl cover has peeled off and I'm to remove the area on my door panel where the vinyl was glued to? and then glue the inserts to it? just checking, also can anyone recommend glue or silicone for this job. Thanks
Damn mine started doing that i bought adhesive thats used for headliners and it didnt held up it did for couple weeks or so but then it started to peel off again
While they are the same chassis, the body panels are different. 05-09 and 10-14 are not interchangeable body panels wise. There are a lot parts that are but most are under the car.
@Foxbodys4life as for as the donkes are concerned. I parted my 95 mustang outside and went home came out the next morning and thought someone had keyed my car hood really bad .Come to find out when I went back to those people house I caught them in the act .So don't be so trusting
Yea you can remove the panel, it’s glued on really well and you will have to sand off the glue residue but there is regular textured plastic behind it.

Correct, the vinyl backing is heavily glued on to the panel and needs to be removed. I used the silicone that came with them and it’s held up fine.

@@Foxbodys4life the mistake i did was that i didnt scratch off the remaining foam lol thats why it didnt stick but ill remove it and try again
Check for the backing, that pealed off with no foam on the panel. It’s on there really good.

I know you need to put on glue but Does it snap on a bit when you put it on
The edges do kind of snap on, it’s more for alignment than holding.

Not sure what you meant by paint job, but I used the silicone that came with the kit to glue the covers to the door panel.

Does it say what temp the glue is rated to?? Im in Vegas and outside temps get to 130 F, so inside the car is BAD.
I’m just north of Houston and we have 110+ days and my car sits in the sun, it’s held up to those temps fine so far.
I bought this and they don't fix. the drivers side fits almost perfectly, but the passengers side is way too small.
I’m sure they would replace the one. Mine fit fine but you are talking about plastic and heating and cooling could effect the shape.

It’s survived 2 brutally hot Texas summers (115 degrees) just fine. Still glued with the original silicone that I used.

I used the silicone that came in the kit. It’s held up so far. Just make sure you pull the vinyl off to the plastic door, that almost cost me lol.
