I just adjusted mine and had a hell of a time getting a consistent reading. Started with 3.8 and ended with 4.2x. No improvement in boost. Only get up to 0.4 psi. I'm thinking the actuator is shot. No error codes for it though

Most likely it is the actuator

I have a 2013 genesis coupe and I checked the arm on the waste gate actuator because I was getting no boost and I have a CEL code for the turbo boost sensor and the actuator arm was completely detached from the actuator, it wasn't bolted on or connected to the actuator. Do you know how that could have happened?

The code I’m getting is P2565 I thought it was to change the turbocharger boost sensor but I think the actuator is going bad. Where did you order yours ?

So as long as it stays the same both ways before determining replacement then you can make the adjustment with rod? But when its never stabile then its worn out?

@coryament not true as long as your getting voltage the actuator is good you to really play with it to get to recommended factory voltage between 3.98 to 4.0

    • @coryament

I have never had a bad turbo on one of these cars always the actuator. If the actuator checks out ok then probably suspect the turbo itself

So I brought my 2013 sonata 2.0T to the dealer and they determined that the wastegate actuator/solenoid needed to be replaced. It was replaced and the same issue came back 2 days later. They said the replacement was faulty and replaced it again. Drove it home and the check engine light came right back on with the same code. Needless to say the cars back at the dealer. Anyone have similar issues??

I haven't. Usually they are fixed with a new actuator.

Did they check to make sure that actual wastegate flapper door is moving freely by hand? If not your turbo assembly will need to be replaced.

Hey i have a question. Did the part that rotates on the actuator do a full 360 or did it only move 2 ways. Mine does. A full 360 and feels a little loose so i think mine could be broken.
