    The comparisons of Seether to Nirvana don't really bother me, but something that is getting me is how much credit people give Nirvana for being the innovators of Grunge music. Don't get me wrong I love Nirvana, but Alice In Chains had already had their first album go gold before Nirvana had even released a record. I've never thought Alice In Chains received enough credit for their musical influence compared to Nirvana, especially since Layne is one the best vocalist of all time....the guy had some major pipes! But enough of my rant; Seether has been one of my favorite bands for a long time now. In fact I switch off my phones ringtone between this song and "Out of My Way".

    • @darrelstieben5149
      @darrelstieben5149 9 лет назад +8

      Layne S. was a Metal God Vocalist, but to ease the "not enough credit" , its because Chains are a Metal band, and Nirvana was a poser band(sorry couldn't stand them non musical talent fucks), that was "rock" "alternative", so yes Alice did do the innovation, but they got their ideas from the real alternatives like Queensryche, Dream Theater, and the like.

    • @darkblaze72
      @darkblaze72 7 лет назад +25

      Wasn't Alice in Chains first studio album 'Facelift' released in 1990 as opposed to Nirvana's first studio album 'Bleach' released in 1989?

Room for maybe 500 people and the stage was just on a simple of risers off the bar floor. You were so close to the stabe Shaun Morgan was shaking hands with people while he sang. They sounded incredible then, and I'd give anything to see them againnow, 15yrs later, when many of their songs are still anthems for my life. Remedy, Gasoline, and Fake it will always be in my personal music rotation, and they still manage to get me up and moving no matter how down I might be feeling.

    I will admit that this song at a point in time in my life was how I felt about all women. They all seemed superficial, stuck up, and shallow and if they didn't think you were cute or hot they didn't bother to recognize you as a human. But all that changed and I now think of that song is about the girls who are shallow and try to cover up all the negative things in their life by using a lot of makeup and dating guys who they find attractive but who treat them like shit and taking pain pills to feel better. And in the end unless they change they will be in their own personal hell that they have created for themselves.

    I just learned this song is trashing the lead singer’s, brother’s, ex-girlfriend. After he found out she had been cheating on him, he killed himself, by jumping off a building.

    Recently rediscovered my love for this band. God damn I missed this. Used to listen to em a lot in high school, but I stopped because I was ashamed of it for some stupid reason relistening to both Seether and Chevelle is helping me heal in some odd way. It's nice, it's like Im making peace with my past self.
