I have seen them 3 times now. First time was awesome, saw Lizzy Hale do the Broken duet with him...it was great. Second time they were garbage and I left the show early (probably some bad juju going on in the back ground, only time I have ever left a show early). Glad to say no I saw them in Cincinnati with Breaking Benjamin this year. They were awesome. Glad they were back on top. He is so effortless in his performance and his vocals. Saw them in a bar in Abilene,TX back in 20014 with Eye Empire and 10 Years. After the show, a roadie handed me a bottle of water from the stage. This song is so beautiful and so well said. Some people use this song to get over a breakup but these lyrics can even be used for a friend or someone that has hurt you in a horrible way 💔

This song speaks to me so much. I had a woman in my life who slowly controlled everything I did and literally broke me down. It happened so slowly I didn't even realize it until one day she randomly filed for divorce. I always just focused on working hard and trying to be a good dad to my kids. Now I have an amazing woman in my life and I see how happy someone can make you, when they let you be you, and support you.I know this can happen to men and women, great song.
My best friend for me into this song and Seether. He died back in March ‘21 at just 20 years old almost a year after he showed me. This song means so much to me and it still hurts to listen over two years later since he pops in my head. Yet with all those emotions, this song calms me and makes me happy. I’ll forever be thankful for this song and band.

Fine Again and Rise Above This helped me get to a point where I feel good for the first time in 43 years. When I hear this song, it reminds me what I accomplished and how I’m never going back. This is my FU to depression, anxiety, my family, bad relationships, self-doubt, self-loathing, and every other force (mostly internal ones) that held me back.
Talk about "thinking outside the box" holy shit, this had me captivated! Great song, great video! The 'musicians' of today should learn a thing or two from this.
The first song I’ve listened from seether was Fine again. It was in a snowboarding game on the GameCube years ago. Been a fan ever since but as I got older I realized the depth of the music videos especially this one. There’s layers of metaphors that I get every time I watch this video. It’s the epitome of dating even after 14 years. The human mind is like this cube it’s an ever changing puzzle that every now and again reveals us amongst everything that goes through our minds on a daily basis. The fact that this woman is going though his mind and then having the nerve to bring out or pull out parts of him she sees and or wants from him is like that of a controlling and manipulative person. Only highlighting the things that stick out to them, mostly negative. Include the lyrics of how everything had to revolve around her which doesn’t give proper judgement or understanding of the person he really is. This is a very powerful yet sad message. Selfish people don’t know compassion, they don’t have patience, and they don’t want to work things out unless it benefits them. We all have demons and battles that we filter everyday and to have someone we trust exploit and abuse those areas is truly a damaging dynamic. People can have addictions to anything that is self destructive and selfishness in my opinion is more addicting than any drug or alcohol abuse because it’s not detected as a problem and is used often to destroy the lives of others and even ourselves.
11 years later and this song still hits hard as it ever did. I gave up everything for us and I did everything for you. How could you be so cold? You were supposed to be the one...
To anyone that has ever had someone try to break them down- there is only one way out and that is through. Move on to better people and life experiences. This song resonates with me.
OMG! Yes!!! Why... why are Toxic fucking people the only ones that seem to be attracted to me?? Like do I have "easy target" tatted on my forehead? Or am I really just THAT weak that they can SMELL the opportunity to take complete control over my life and just me in general. I swear EVERY relationship I've ever been in ends up being the most toxic... like the toxicity increases over time. Each one worse than the last... what the hell is it? Is it me? Do I do this to myself? I NEED answers!!!
@@katiehutchens211 You are not weak. You are probably kind, loving, understand and full of empathy. Toxic people are drawn to those traits. Make sure you have strong boundaries, and have no qualms about saying NO . Walk away if someone keeps trying to cross them. You deserve better. Know your worth girl.
Wow I can't believe it's been 12 years since this came out.. I was in high school and remember putting this on my iPod as soon as it came out. Also i always loved the part at 1:07 the way she spins the cube, it goes so well with the music
In 2009, i remember asking my wife, as we were both heavily addicted to heroin, will i ever wake up and care if the sun shines or if there's anything beautiful in this world. We've both been clean since 2010. And we're still together. She's my soul mate. And I'll never understand how we got lost in that hell. But I'm so grateful for her and for the streee found to beat it together. Back then, I was nothing with her. Today, I'm nothing without her. She is my motivation to keep going. And I love how beautiful she is and how beautiful life is with her by my side.
The sun is gone and the flowers rot Words are spaces between us And I should have been drown in the rivers I found of token lost And I should have been down when you made me insecure So break me down if it makes you feel right And hate me now if it keeps you alright You can break me down if it takes all your might Because I'm so much more than meets the eye And I'm the one you can never trust Because wounds are ways to reveal us And yeah I could have tried and devoted my life to both of us But what a waste of my time when the world we had was yours So break me down if it makes you feel right (so break me down) And hate me now if it keeps you alright (so break me down) You can break me down if it takes all your might Because I'm so much more than all your lies Hate me, break me down (so break me down) So break me down if it makes you feel right (so break me down) And hate me now if it keep you alright (so break me down) So break me down if it takes all your might Because I'm so much more than meets the eye.
Honestly I wish this song had way more views and seether was way more famous. It’s so sad rock isn’t no where near popular as it use to be and it shows a lot when you get shitty rap and pop songs get hundreds of millions of views with in months and you have good songs like this which barely even breaks millions not alone 100 million views and it’s sad honestly I hate it’s like this
Bands that can make tragedy beautiful and teach you a lesson are special. Seethers subject matter are negative and downright depressing but you don't feel hurt or in a bad mood after the songs are done. You just feel like someone shared something personal with you and you listened but did it in a musically awesome way.
I'm gonna have a band when I get older. I'm only 15, but age doesn't really matter now does it? When you start you start. lol! and it sounds like I'm in your music singing when I put it on to shaun. This song also reminds me of me and my 2 exes, they broke me bad, but I'm still going. You just have to learn that everything is not always what it seems and will seem.
I really enjoy the smile at the end of the video showing how her tactics aren't working and he knows what she's doing, or the second option, he's oblivious.
I interpreted it as the possibility that he has actually begun to "break down" psychologically - "I'm so much more than meets the eye" sounded like he was harboring dangerous thoughts inside his head, and coupled with that knowing smile, it was chilling.
“I could have tried and devoted my life to both of us, but what a waste of my time when the world we had was yours”.... well said.

Lyrics :
The sun is down and the flowers rot
Words are spaces between us
And I should have been drown in the rivers I found of token lost
And I should have been down when you made me insecure
So break me down if it makes you feel right
And hate me now if it keeps you alright
You can break me down if it takes all your might
Because I'm so much more than meets the eye
And I'm the one you can never trust
Because wounds are ways to reveal us
And yeah I could have tried and devoted my life to both of us
But what a waste of my time when the world we had was yours
So break me down if it makes you feel right (so break me down)
And hate me now if it keeps you alright (so break me down)
You can break me down if it takes all your might
Because I'm so much more than all your lies
Hate me, break me down (so break me down)
So break me down if it makes you feel right (so break me down)
And hate me now if it keeps you alright (so break me down)
You can break me down if it takes all your might
'Cause I'm so much more than meets the eye

William: songs are supposed to do this: wake us up to pay attention & feel the pain. Seether is very good at this.
In this case it was appropriate. Boy did these two people make some cultural contributions--despite a bit of frothiness.
I laughed so hard when I found the cover for this album years later. Cause it is so blatantly Amy on the cover . No subtlety at all
I feel like this is kind of taking the high road ... he didn’t really dish it back as hard as she did on him ... both good songs though
11 years later and this song still hits hard as it ever did. I gave up everything for us and I did everything for you. How could you be so cold? You were supposed to be the one...
Played this song on repeat during my relationship with a narcissist.
The most perfect song
This song/video is a perfect metaphor for a relationship with a covert narcissist
Same
fellow survivor
Same, moving day this weekend im dying inside..
Soothing anthem of honest feeling.....it doesn't matter whether you understand or not
To anyone that has ever had someone try to break them down- there is only one way out and that is through.
52 year old blk guy here. Very new to Seether and can't get enough of this song.
one of the best Seether songs, in my top 10
Who ever came up with the treatment for this video is so damn creative! It's just so unique.
This song is for everyone who has had a toxic controlling ex.
That’s what I got from it. I had the same problem for a few years.
My ex Alyssa
12 years now
Dustin Sellers he cheated on her lmao
Or spouse/gf/bf u devote your life to and they could care less. Treat u like shit...
This band is all about "focus on your pain and not on improving your life" - can't believe I've fallen for this as teenager years ago
Is that a bad thing?
@@TheeMrsGrinch you're just going to make your life more miserable than it should be
Having a positive attitude is way more effective
Wow I can't believe it's been 12 years since this came out.. I was in high school and remember putting this on my iPod as soon as it came out. Also i always loved the part at 1:07 the way she spins the cube, it goes so well with the music
this song is full with emotion and it also has a really powerfull message. one of their best, in my opinion.
....just as Never Leave & Driven Under!!
Razvan Rosu one of the best ever
So ture amazing song one of there best
And breath
And rise above it
Listened to this song over and over after a break up... it made me feel so much better
Stfu
Yep I’m here in 2022. 65 next month still listening to killer rock like this! Love this band!!
Jace Gray- You Couldn't have said it BETTER! Dude Sings from the Depths of his Soul!
I'm sorry this is way better than "Call me when your sober"
Agreed
seethed was always under-appreciated honestly, band is so damn talented !!!!!
I'll listen to Seether til I die. My favourite band!
Alguien mas en 2024 con este temon viva El rock carajo
Still my favorite song of all time...even after all these years
Hi Kristin,hope you’re okay ?
Me too my dear
Anyway hope you good 😊 and it’s nice meeting you if you don’t mind
I love this band It never fades! I listen to them every day and they make me happy! I love you guys every one of you!
Seether brings the feelings you wish you didn't have .....and then makes them so beautiful.
Hey i wanna tell you, you´r voice is so awesome and you´r band is epic. This great sound!!!! What a honor to hear that music
Probably my favorite Seether song 😍
I know every word... bless this band
The sun is gone and the flowers rot
Hate me, break me down (so break me down)
So break me down if it makes you feel right (so break me down)
And hate me now if it keep you alright (so break me down)
So break me down if it takes all your might
Because I'm so much more than meets the eye.

Malcolm this was our song... God I miss u so much.. Not a day goes by Baby.. I'll wait to see you in my dreams. Much Love ❤️
Honestly I wish this song had way more views and seether was way more famous. It’s so sad rock isn’t no where near popular as it use to be and it shows a lot when you get shitty rap and pop songs get hundreds of millions of views with in months and you have good songs like this which barely even breaks millions not alone 100 million views and it’s sad honestly I hate it’s like this
This song threw me back 10/11 years...
Best song on this album 2022 still rocking with seether!
Learn to play an instrument and make some friends who wanna play too. It'll help you learn song theory. Wish you well!
I really enjoy the smile at the end of the video showing how her tactics aren't working and he knows what she's doing, or the second option, he's oblivious.
I prefer the former.
The Legendary Beta me too
The Legendary Beta it's because Amy did this little smerk at the end of call me when your sober lol
That's lit tbh
I interpreted it as the possibility that he has actually begun to "break down" psychologically - "I'm so much more than meets the eye" sounded like he was harboring dangerous thoughts inside his head, and coupled with that knowing smile, it was chilling.
