I have accepted my frizzy locs. I had frizzy hair before I got locs and I got frizzy hair with locs. I've learned to be okay with it. I am now doing my own retightenings and I think that is also contributing to my frizziness because I don't have the technique down yet. Next week will be the second time I re-tightened my hair. Hopefully technique will come with time.
I love the FRIZZ🥰🥰. I have thin curly hair, 8 mos. in w/small traditional locs so the frizz makes it look fuller and have that soft butterfly loc look 👌🏾 lovin it
I’m so happy you touched on this. I thought I was just being picky about finding someone to do my locs. Here’s the thing. When I look at someone’s page and I look at some of the mature locs a loctician says they’ve been maintaining since they installed the client’s locs and the locs look frizzy like they aren’t catching all the hairs nor smoothing them out….hard pass. Especially if you have 4C like mine. Why would they be frizzy. You being a super fast interlocking loctician means nothing to me when the end product looks messy to me. I’m absolutely fine with frizz if it has nothing to do with a lazy technique. Honestly, following you and your technique has me having extremely high standards for who I’m gonna let install and maintain my hair 😭 I’ve been search for over a year now in the Bay Area. I never expect d it to be this hard.
I'm just gonna say "Thank you!!" for your very first reason. I've seen loctitians shaming people for having frizzy hair and many times it's because of their hair texture and little to do with their maintenance or technique used.

My Loctician is great she does all of the smoothing and takes her time and it is still frizzy after any humidity . It isn’t her fault. Frizziness comes with the territory for my hair texture. Some clients also do not want to use gel and they have short hairs that grow outside the lock no matter what technique is used. Some frizzy hair clients also have tender scalps and don’t want that crisp look. We can’t always blame the loctitians we don’t know the full information. Frizzy hair comes with genetics and gray hairs.
I have a loose curl pattern, when I got my locs started I hated the frizz. However 19 months into the game, I love the frizz 😅 it gives my locs volume.

Being new to the loc community, love the content, your realness and education!! How often do you recommend spraying hair with water not drench just a quick spray? Also does water cause frizz? Thanks
Thank you for sharing! I have a looser curl pattern that takes on the shape of however it dries, unfortunately. The top of my hair is 3b/3c and will often dry straight or with a slight wave. So although I get some shrinkage and curls tighten, locs do not dry in a curly, shrunken pattern, so I have a lot frizz. I have embraced my frizz and I do my best to incorporate my hair whenever I am interlocking (I do four point rotation because of my hair texture).
Unfortunately I can’t find a loctitian who wants to take the time to do the proper technique to minimize frizz, even when I tell them i will pay extra, they basically tell me, “it’s fine” and keep it moving. It’s frustrating, because i know i have a big head and a lot of hair but if i am willing to pay more, what’s the issue? Do you know someone in the Florida area that you recommend? South florida area.
So no grooming for 5 years? What happens to the top 5 yr growth? Does that hair lock itself? How close to the roots should new locks be crocheted? Which is better for hiding your scalp: triangles or brick sections?
I agree. Our hair is not the same all throughout, at least that's my story. My edges and top of my hair is thinner/fine. My middle and back are the strongest. Same for my son. He had a yarmulke patch (his hair began growing only in the middle when he was a baby), at least that is what I called it.
You are so funny! Yet you provide great content. I do have a question. If during every retie they are cutting lots that may have been some hair caught in the loc during the previous retie doesn't that weaken the loc base?
@linelladevlin7701 you can use rose water or water base leave in conditioner for a moisturizing spray. To stop the itchy, the rosemary stimulus spray will help. Clarifying Shampoo for new locs. All can be found on my website www.entoibeauty.com
