Yes it is an odd toilet and we're laughing about the guy wanting to sell it but you'd be surprised how much some of this old stuff can fetch. I went to work in Wales for my brother in law back in the 80's as a sparky/plumber, he was a builder and on the old renovation jobs he would save some of the bathroom stuff especially the baths because he had a contact who would buy from him. The first one I helped him with we were able to slide it right off the upstairs floorboards (as there was no outer back wall in place) and lowered it into the garden on a rope and man it was heavy, it nearly pulled us right off the edge and into the sheer drop into the garden. I thought silly bugger he'll get 20 quid for it. He handed me a wad of notes the next day and said "here's your share". He sold it for hundreds and many more followed. His contact would ship them to the US, he named his price and they paid the shipping. He also sold a lot in the UK to interior designers working for rich clients. These millionaire clients want original authentic stuff not reproduction. I think your old toilet may make it as a garden planter as it's got class, not like the old 60 quid toilet and basin sets B&Q used to sell, I think they would have been before your time though young un. Definitely not removed from other premises, not in that colour, it would have been white I’m sure. One of the best operating syphonic basins of the time. Twyfords were always the better choice of syphonic over other brands (armitage) in my opinion. Fitted one of these in my dad’s(a retired plumber)bungalow over thirty years ago. Wish they were still available (now I’m retired) they used to flush loads better than the available rubbish nowadays.
How is one going to get a brick in under that waste pipe iam a bricklayer and plumbers are the worst for that usually you can take a couple of bricks out at the top but you can't due to being so low nightmare
I hate plumbing, I have nightmares about it. This one!! As for the bath on that job of yours. Must have been cast iron! I do not envy you doing that! I smash them up into 4 and still struggle!!
@@Heatking Yes these were seriously big and thick roll top baths. Here in the Midlands when I was taking out smaller cast iron baths from the 60's I would cut them in half and drag them down the stairs. As you say though they are still heavy. I still think they're far superior to any plastic bath.
@ oh yes absolutely agree and they were designed to hold heat wasn’t they. We as the plastic ones.. just don’t. But I’m glad I don’t have to fit them 😂😂
Why didn't you core the hole for the waste pipe higher up. The boss will freeze?
@@dmitarbogunovic6094 it’ll not freeze, never known a basin waste freeze up, I think my dad put it that high so it wasn’t high up on show internally.

@ thanks mate! And thanks for the information!!
Yup - I've got one. they are very quiet in operation and if they are working properely the water level in the pan should start to drop immediately the lever is pulled.

Old Siphonic WC. Mainly used in hospitals, commercial, schools etc. Guaranteed it was ‘removed’ from one of the aforementioned in the 1970s/1980s and fitted by the plumber in his own home🤫 Great to see you working will your Dad. Would love to do the same with my old man and my grandad, both master plumbers but unfortunately no longer with us. Keep up the good work mucka 🫡
@@SteveB-xz2zy thanks Steve, and thank you for the information regarding the toilet! I think you’re right too! And yeh everyone loves when my Dads in episodes, shame you can’t do the same with yours :(
Definitely not removed from other premises, not in that colour, it would have been white I’m sure.
@@anthonyworthington6495 next time I go back I’ll show you. You can get a brick under it :)
I hate plumbing, I have nightmares about it.
